91p close today Respect to Graftman if the sp holds or rises. Got as low as about......................................88p yesterday! My historic strategy with overseas shares (ACHL/CEY/MML etc) was to trade actively, buying post dips and selling when "frothy". Easy, cheap (no stamp duty) and fun. Now that I've consolidated my MML holdings within my ISA, it'll be left with my holders which are pretty straight-laced stuff including prefs (e.g. SANB). The active trader in me can't help but look at these every day, even though I now have no intention of selling. While I might agree with you re BoD, there are some ventures which even the seriously "gifted" couldn't f-up. I think MML falls into this category which is why I'm laid back about the current sp. Which platform do you usually use? HL (mine) are prohibitively expensive for AU shares, so re-entry would (even at 85p) be too costly unless seriously lumpy. My mate says that Waterhouse are better for AU shares. Best of luck whatever you decide. Gla, Orphan
I just pop back to this site occasionally out of interest and wonder if it will continue now mml has delisted. As mentioned, I'm still in touch with Graftman through our mutual horse interest. Funny enough, I'm fairly sure he reckoned mml would bottom at about 88 - must ask him. I'm completely out at present, but 88 might be a good re-entry point. My problem is that I reckon the management are a bunch of t****rs who seem to not give a s**t about the shareholders - purely a personal opinion of course but, if any of them happen to read this site, I'm open to persuasion otherwise - won't hold my breath though. Good luck all you diehards.
.......and there was me thinking I was all alone. Good morning and good to see there is still interest here. Closed this morning at about 89p, much the same as yesterday. There have been no big shifts since LSE delist, just a low volume drift down to where we are today. With trading range narrow and volumes light, I expect no big movements (^ or v) until next substantive figures. Gla, Orphan
Thought you were lost forever. Don't know what AX price is, but I'd bet it'll be less than the last price here. Wondering if you've actually gone over to AX, and if you'll still speak to us when you're rich (or richer). Will post you again on here - assuming it's still here - if Grafty and I come up with any "good thing". Best wishes.
maybe someone will post the ax price ? and the race results lol Lester piggot to make a comeback ?
http://fca.org.uk/news/barclays-fined-26m-for-failings-surrounding-the-london-gold-fixing Barclays fined £26m in relation to poor controls around the gold fix. The FCA have banned one trader for attempting to influence the 3pm gold fix on the 28th June 2012. £26m might seem a pittance for Barclays but this is for one event, involving one trader, on one of the two fixings that take place every day. Slowly but surely, the truth shall reveal itself, it often does. If work by men such as Dimitri Speck is anything to go by then this is in fact a daily occurence and has been for years if not decades. At a rate of £26m per single gold fix fines could potentially be astronomical in the future. Of course, what's in it for us? Well, should it transpire that gold markets have indeed been rigged to anywhere near the extent claimed by some, there's only one way the gold price will go. And it's not down...
Okay thanks
I'm completely out of mml now and third degree burns to fingers are healing nicely. Very best wishes to you guys in future - feels like the ww11 POW's splitting up after an escape! If you're ever interested in keeping in touch, Graftman and I are in daily contact on LSE Share Chat - General Chat - Horses for Courses and, between us we've had some good winners lately. We'd always be glad to hear from you.
Just saw yours.VG i know in time we shall HAPPILY reminisce,, Yomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow
Any info ok but just a view or worse d ramping for own gain.i only once "hammered" a share rpo but that was a much worse share than mml. Ok ! I hope lol
Hi Yoggie, There are a few of us left but most of us have been delisted ;-) My strategy (see earlier postings) of transferring my unwrapped MML holding to consolidate with my ISA holding has just about worked fine.....selling at 95/96 and buying into the ISA at 93/94... but I think i'm going to run out of time. I've got just 5,000 to sell and wanted 10,000 more in the ISA. Perhaps I'll get them sub 95 tomorrow pm as the deadline for FTSE trading approaches. From now on, just think of me as Gregory Peck, alone in Australia; "On The Beach". The last representative of the once mighty Northern Hemisphere. Better yet, I'll be one of the members of the Pastoral Club, determined to drink the Club's wine cellar dry. Always cheered me up, that bit did, with its inverse ratio of alcohol consumption to radiation absorption. Anything that upsets the health fascists is good in my book. Anyway, to the future. I'll hold these suckers for a few (or more) years as I expect that in a year or two we'll get some tasty dividends albeit in AUS$s and cents. Capital appreciation would be nice too, but I don't plan to trade them as I have done recently. This bb will probably close (or wither on the vine) so you'll mainly find me on CEY and ECR (do like my gold) and ACHL. I'll look out for you as I do appreciate your form analysis and advice even though I don't always follow it. Atb & gl, Orphan (or Commander Towers, as I will think of myself)
Hello - HELLO! - IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE??? Blimey where's everyone gone? Feels like that film where the bloke wakes up and finds he's the only person left in the world. Anyway, just thought I'd let you all know that I've taken the plunge and dumped the last of these crap shares (sorry - can I say crap on here?). You must all try it - it's a wonderful feeling of freedom. No more disappointments, no more nasty shocks, no more excuses - feels like I've come out of a bout of depression. Reckon when they go on to the ASX or whatever, they should rename this thing Titanic Mining. I've made a note to try and find whatever forum mml is on in a year or two's time just to see if it's anywhere near the equivalent of a quid and if anyone's still waiting for the big upturn. Best of luck to anyone sticking with this lot. Hope your rich - I reckon you'll need to be.
As many of you will already appreciate, I have no idea whatsoever about the technicalities of dealing and, as already mentioned, whilst trying to find this site the other day, came across another forum where some of the comments relating to mml were chronic. Three in particular that I wonder if anybody has any ideas about were - firstly, that whilst the delisting is in progress, you won't be able to sell your shares for eight weeks - second, the mml mine is played out and - thirdly, the new mill will only have limited beneficial effect on production because the ore is now of poor quality. As mentioned before - I am now only holding a small amount of this stock, bought at a ridiculous price, but am now considering dumping that too. By the way, the forum in question was on advn or something similar - some of you may know it.
There you go - another 20% on your dosh. After these two, your original 5k would've been 8,400 quid. My guess is you'll not get that kind of return on mml in a month of Sundays
Not one to say "toldya so" but toldya so - 40% on your money yesterday in a few minutes. Annie Power today at Punchestown - 20% on your money. Mind you - don't blame me if it gets turned over! Had trouble finding this site today and accidentally found another site with mml chat. Some of the contributors there who SEEMED to know their onions were scathing about mml's prospects.
Anyone getting into mml for the first time today at 90ish just MIGHT - at some stage - turn a profit but - to me - this just seems to be a badly run company that shows no concern for it's shareholders. As I've said before, the low production costs and the new mill will imo have no implications on the sp as they have long ago been factored into today's prices. When the mill actually started up a short while back someone posted BOOOM! - no, not really - more like plop. The way things have gone for a long time now there are just as likely to be further disappointments and excuses. Again, as I've said before, I reckon the only thing that's going to move the sp upwards to any great extent is a sharp rise in the pog, which doesn't look like coming. I'm still in touch with Graftman on another site and reckon he could be out of mml - that's good enough for me, On the other hand, subject to it winning of course, you can get a 40% return on your dosh this afternoon on Mullins star hurdler at Punchestown. There's more chance of that happening than getting the same profit on mml in the foreseeable future. As I mentioned the other day, I've dumped practically all of this stock apart from some that I hold at a ridiculous price which I'm just going to forget and look at again in a few years time - don't expect it to be worth what I paid for it even then. Best wishes to everyone else who stays or gets involved.
Not likely. Someoddsof a fix? Lots of metals shares been farhigher but so what? I amnot irish so i WILL startfrom here. Costs low mill finished at long last. Only poss probi can see is phili govt? Dont know enuf about them.
Annie Power probably runs Punchestown Saturday. At 1/6 current forecast odds is as close to a certainty over the jumps as you'll get. Always assuming it wins, that's a quick return of sixteen percent on your money, which I reckon is better than you'll get on mml in the foreseeable future. As for knocking this share now - I have to ask you to trawl back through my posts on this site. I've been saying this things a lemon since Noah pulled up the gang plank on the Ark. The sp on this thing has gone from over 520 to it's price today - under a quid. It's shipped over 80% of it's one time value - brilliant. At every rate from 499 down, you'll probably find someone posting what a great "long term" investment it is. If I had a pound for every comment about the mill doubling output, no debt, low production costs etc etc I'd probably be money in front but, as I've said before, none of that was any secret and the sp was the sp regardless. Just after the Ukraine thing flared up - and I reckoned because of that - the sp jumped to 138 or thereabouts. Don't even thin about 200 - it needs to increase by nearly 50% to be back to where it was then. Perhaps someone could ring Vlad and ask him to shoot down an American plane. Now. on top of all of the excuses, the bod decide to delist - how spiffing. Where's my Racing Post - let's find something sensible to do with my dosh.
Was not criticising u but ur knockong this share NOW inappropriate seems to moi. God aannie powrr again!!will get onher one day

just in case you haven't found the racing chat board http://www.lse.co.uk/general-chat-topics.asp?CatCode=ic8aay . lets have some views and some more winners :-) .
Brilliant! As a kid, always promised myself one when I grew up. Enthusiasm became tempered when I kept falling off me bike - which was a three wheeler. Business contact of mine who deals in classic cars told me that he bought a 750cc classic bike the other day - think it may be a Triumph Bonneville, does that sound right?
