Love the opportunities this market keeps giving. In my opinion this should be double its current mcap. Ocado retail value now pretty much covers MKS mcap alone!
You are very far from the reality there Aimigo
Vp reality is even you have said Ocado retail is valued at similar to mks current mcap. Im guessing in your opinion Marks and Spencer is worthless though...zzz
Look at my previous post, MKS is valued at 1.99bill currently, Ocado retail I said max 1.4bill.
All our opinions don't mean much, share price says the truth.
So you're saying you value MKS at 0.5bill? If you can't see value there you need to change your username!
Each to our own, for me I see value and good gains to be made. This is not part of my trading account, holding these in my ISA so im not saying its going to double overnight
Aimigo,
The market values the non Ocado JV side of MKS in the region of £0.5-0.7bill. I agree with that valuation. I see far better value plays currently. On the Ocado board in early July chilting, others and myself were comparing Ocado and MKS as investments. We took the share price on July 5 and agreed to revisit their share prices in late October. The share prices then were £1.00 for MKS and £20.00 for Ocado. Since then Ocado has returned 42%, MKS has returned 3%. Ocado is still great value.
There are big investors long on MKS but there are big positions short too. The share price has not been missed by the big hedge funds. It is at its current value for many reasons. Chiefly the anticipated hit to store values, Christmas sales, footfall and declining non food value of MKS
Yes Ocado rise has been fantastic but how much further is it going? You're saying you value Ocado solutions at over £20billion in its current form?
We can do the same let's take yesterday's close price of £1.02 for Mks and £28.29 for Ocado and see which turns out to be the better investment. No good looking back at June now as I'm looking at todays investments not past investments, yes I understand thats a comparison for then and proves Ocado was the better investment in June but for me I now see more value in MKS at current prices. Either way good luck and let's hope we both keep making money in this market, not often we get so many opportunities
Aimigo
Ocado still has a long way to go yet - this is a global company with a major technological advantage in a massive industry that is transforming rapidly as a result of coronavirus - consumers around the world are demanding home delivery of their groceries.
M&S will also benefit, providing they adapt the rest of their business, but the winner will always be Ocado.
Valueplay has all his eggs in the Ocado basket - personally I prefer to spread risk - but in this instance he will probably come out the winner.
As a subscriber to our digital shareholder communications, we promised to share the latest news and activity across M&S as we accelerate our transformation through our Never the Same Again programme set out in May. In our latest update, you can watch and read more from our leadership team on the changes underway.Accelerating Food growth through OcadoOn 1st September we hit a milestone in our transformation, as we launched on Ocado and our full food range went online for the very first time - bringing together our market leading quality food and Ocado's awarding winning delivery service. Stuart Machin, M&S Food MD, shares his views on our partnership with Ocado here.Accelerating our move to everyday style and valueOur video update here introduces how our clothing team is accelerating our move to everyday style and trusted value for Autumn/Winter 20. As well as an update from the buyers and designers behind the season's range, we wanted you to hear more from our fantastic colleagues across our stores who are talking to our customers daily and we have also included some of the initial online customer reviews of the new product that has started to arrive.
Sorry I can’t pass the link, it won’t allow me
Aimigo,
I believe Ocado can go significantly higher. Yes, myself and the market value Ocado Solutions at over £20 bill.
I hadn't mentioned June, comparison was early July to now. The MKS share price is only up a fraction since then. We can compare from your prices but the last 2months shows how little value there has been in investing in MKS. This chat groups collective notion that the MKS share price would zoom up quickly after the Ocado partnership functioning was always based on hope rather than any deeper analysis.
