Another firm to be under foreign ownership? Is that really good for UK Ltd?
Yup the signatures won't be palming the graces of the dotted lines for a while yet, but an interested company that's done its due diligence and valued the company more than £8/share, (factoring growth), will elevate the share price. As always with such a large gap before completion, there's a small risk of intervention, good or bad... and by good I mean, third party bid.. maybe.
Until this is signed and sealed there is always a chance the deal could collapse. The price will rise as significant milestones towards completion are reached. Those wanting quick returns have sold today....SP should steadily rise from here and all going well you will get your full £8 at the end of it...alternatively as the SP increases over coming weeks with more certainty you will have the opp to sell out closer to £8.
the deal wont clear for a long time, not til next year. so youve got the risk that in the meantime something derails the deal.
The rns says completion q3 2022
if offer is at £ 8, why are they sitting at 7.30? Anyone please.
Hi, does anyone know roughly when the transactions at £8 will take place? Are we talking weeks or months?
Scar re " Even if the deal falls through Parker will have done their sums and these shares are likely be worth £7 plus in 3 years time."
Its a cash offer - you won't get any Parker shares.
Seems a big discount (735) to offer price, so have topped up. Better than 0.5 interest at the bank. Even if the deal falls through Parker will have done their sums and these shares are likely be worth £7 plus in 3 years time.
Just woken up to this great news, I sensed (hunch) it was on it's way two weeks back after the drop to 400p from 500p and the prior talk of a takeover.
Prior to this SNR played out exactly the same with similar drop, then, ..BANG, a 150p-200p takeover eventually rebuffed.
so i bought these at £2.60 after COVID. Not that many as just spent my savings buying low in other companies and only belatedly saw what a great company this is. Question. If i wait until the forced buy of £8.00 rather than selling now, when will i get the money? Q4 2021? Nov time?
lol. Gate door horse bolted springs to mind.
You can always buy back in for a quick profit!
OMG just sold off my holding last week!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a result , had a top value pencilled in here at 670-710. The 50p gap is a strange one RNS clearly shows the government have agreed .
Agree there are many companies lining up to be taken over , shame these brilliant British companies are being sold .
Well done to those that can see the setups and have the patience .
the difference between the sp and the offer price is the risk the mkt sees of the deal not being done. sometimes the sp may go above the offer price if the mkt believes a rival bidder my emerge. in the case of meggit, the 50p gap to the offer price probably reflects a small risk that the government gets involved regarding the defence elements of the companys portfolio. i dont believe its a significant risk but thats the reason behind the gap. as time goes by and we approach the deal date, the sp should rise into it and get to just about 800p.
Thanks both :)
Hi. You do not need to sell now. You will get the full 800p.
"The boards of directors of Parker-Hannifin Corporation (Parker) and Meggitt PLC (Meggitt) are pleased to announce that they have reached agreement on the terms of a recommended cash acquisition of the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Meggitt by Parker."
Key words: entire issued share capital.
You can sell up now for market value, or wait for the deal to go through and get the extra 10%.......but with the inherent risk that the deal may collapse.
Bit of a noob question, but reuters are saying that 'Stakeholders in Meggitt, which operates in the aerospace, defence and energy markets, will get 800 pence in cash for each share they hold' - does this mean I will receive 800p per share automatically, or do I need to actively sell them while they are up?
A nice message to wake up to.....patiently been waiting since £2.40 myself. Happy Monday all :-)
Well done all holders. Been in since £2.90...finally a company which has realised its true value. Amazing!!
I wasnt in
there you go. boom. nice price too. and whats more there are still a dozen or so targets in the ft350 theat may go the same way!
Wow 800p! Am I reading this correctly!! Fantastic news....
