The media is ramping up about second wave. This can only get cheaper.
I would love to see this go too 2.50 I would be all over that. This share is such a good money spinner at the moment well predictable morning drop then steady up or down depending what the ftse is doing. I want this to keep dropping the lower the better in my opinion.
I bought on the bounce so I'm looking to hit 345 to recoup then get back in much lower.
All those grounded planes are just waiting for a service and no doubt business will pick up as flights are resumed.
GLA.
Pete
This will bounce between 250p & 380p for a while, I’ll only buy around 250p
Didn’t think I would be able too buy back in under £3 happydays.
Time to buy back in soon, and do it all again.
I agree with x66rjp. With a recession looming i doubt it will be going anywhere near £6/7 in the next year. However, i am confident when markets have fully recovered that this could hit it's all time highs again. Just need to wait and see.
Not convinced in the next year. Think there'll be a recession and this FTSE rally will prove to be just that.
I have about 2500 shares at an average of £2.45...I am pleased so far with the progress and wonder whether we will get to the silly highs of before with £6 and £7...anyone think this is possible in the next year?
See you all at 400+ in coming week...
Home sec had a meeting yesterday with aviation leaders, I can only imagine to open up air bridges etc...
In that news this will really kick on...doesnt matter for meggitt if airlines are not fully booked, meggitt are paid for maintenance work regardless!
Not to mention 33% of income safe from defence!
Solid, well rounded share!
Hi Jan1579
I am super bullish on Meggitt for the long term, really great business but please ensure you do your own research and come to your own conclusions.
I use https://simplywall.st/ to research most of my investments.
Best of luck.
Welcome Jan1579.
All stocks have plummeted recently due to COVD19, and we are on an upward trajectory across most sectors. For the med/long term, this should recover back to at least £4, so is a fairly safe bet.
Be careful of what advice you read on the internet forums (including mine), and always carry out your own research. Check out graphs of the share price history and RNS of the companies too.
Good luck!
New to the investing world here! Just trying to gain as much information as possible as i look to start holding shares for the med/long run. What do people think about the value of this stock at the moment?
Relegation from ftse100 does have a negative impact on sp...HOWEVER this is already accounted for in sp as most fund managers position accordingly a month prior to the reshuffle...
Do you think if relegated from the ftse100 it would have a negative impact on the share price.
Going of technicals...higher highs and higher lows...clearly in uptrend.
Expect this to climb to 400+ come late July as aviation industry gearing to take off in coming weeks.
Remember whether aeroplanes are fully filled or not doesnt matter as Meggitt is paid for the necessary maintenance work.
Throw in the added bonus too of having one third of income coming from defence to mitigate risk.
Excited...should be a nice watch now...
Stock market is taking an absolute beating today with all the negative economic news. This is a key period for Meggitt and will be interesting to see how agile they are. Opportunities will present themselves but is the company ready to take advantage?
(and they are dreadful, with no improvement in sight)
not "how well run this company has been"
MGGT benefited from buoyant end markets for years,
now let see how well it (can) handle(s) the bust
Mobily
Any quarantine measures will be temporary. The UK will have to comply with international regulations when the situation normalizes. You can’t set your own standards in a global industry.
Toff
Is this a sea change for air travel, the potential introduction of quarantine measures for travellers coming into the UK and much lower numbers is going to have a significant impact on Meggits order book.
time will tell...
Jolly mate. As mentioned maybe the prices of a company like this are a little too premier league for you looking at your posting history. Good luck in the smaller lottery and there will be no big overnight gains here. But no overnight losses. This market will trade red and blue plus and minus ten percent. Bigger bigger is a market correct will happen for the big boys who sign defence contracts like mggt like childs play. Do not bring down the integrity of a decent share chat room the way you do. Im not saying post everything rosey all the time but have a touch of class and bring something of substance to the table rather than an aim style comment. Gla
Just got look at its posting history to see what 'types' of companies its interested in..... MGGT are in another league and not talking Sunday ones either .... MGGT have broad base of income, which in times like this help cushion the SP.
Just think what would happen if Trump looks towards military action to prop up its economy .... already warned off Iran, spat with China now, N Korea, well who knows.
Loaded up on Friday, will add more too if opportunity is presented.

Briefly on 19th March at £1.96 but closed that day at £2.23! A week on ..26th March it reached £3.37. Swings and roundabouts but £1.00 is crazy talk imo.
Everything you mentioned is applicable to the whole market sir. Mind you i cant remeber sub 2 quid on this but i might be mistaken? Even then so we have no reason to visit such low levels. We absorbing everything as well as can be and just waiting it out. Bottom may or may not be here but there are fractions of the current price to achieve a bottom. Id like to think we are there. But long term staying around these levels. No chance. This a solid company and will do just fine imo and will never see the prices you banded around and thats not my opinion thats a fact im so sure. Have a nice weekend and stay safe .
