Paulislong : im in same boat mate ave 56p but i have had 5.3% on average on dividends for the last 4-5 years and i know this will continue and hopefully the divi will rise , this is part of my portfolio for retirement as i liked the divi return so im in for a few years yet , and will come out at 250p and blow the lot lol
My average price is 63p having averaged down over the past few months!
Clearly then my position is still not looking great with me having a substantial holding.
That said, I feel completely comfortable. Dividends will return soon and the sp will recover, and when it does eventually get back into the 60’s, I still won’t sell!

Similar thoughts. I will make a decision after any dividend news whether or not to continue holding or sell. Probably slice a little if the market thinks any updates from Europe is good.
110k @ 34.78. Bought back in June. Should get Brexit news in the next week or so. Transition deal is key for determining whether we move into the 40's. Holding till confirmation of resumption of dividends and long term target of 55.
67.3p but waiting for 70p.

Best piece of wisdom written on here WISEBEAR all of us should practice
Patience patience as Warren Buffett said " if you are not comfortable keepng a share for 10 years you shouldn't keep it for 10 min"
1350000 @ 58p waiting for 70p next year

The problem with the Dow and Ftse are that they are weighted differently. The Ftse more recently seems to only track the Dow when it is down.
I do fear for the MC of many companies that are trading near to all time lows if there is a sell off across the pond.
I bought 522,000 lloyds at 29.2p. Was upset when it went down to 24p, and the board members bought at 24.
VMUK has done a lot better than all the bank share prices. Contemplated buying either ITV or VMUK when both were around the 75p mark. Bought ITV. Kicking myself now.
Hindsight is always better. But remember the wise old saying: The stock market is a place which facilitates the movement of wealth from the impatient to the patient.

The video at end with the guy from Cantor Fitzgerald, is quite interesting . Further buy opportunities to lower that average.
Pantherax, it hasn't been easy, but the general drop in securities to a low base certainly helped.
A recent investment in SAGA has got me over the line.
How much do you weigh Walkers? lol.
It’s like an online meeting of the AA here this morning, just remember that Longtimeinvestor will be taking notes and will use that information to goad you at a later date. Isn’t that right Longtime?
each to your own ,but with an av of 39 p when the div is paid again [if its about the same as the last few] you should get heaps more than if the money was in a cash isa , ie i have 10k @ 30p and before divi was stopped i was getting approx 1k a year ,but i had held them through all the rough times with nowt being paid , long term llo will get back to £1 no sweat ,how long ? no body knows ,but imo 3 years
@francos
Surely you can wait
@TheFarEnd - Glad to hear you've recouped your losses and turned a profit. That's really interesting about GLEN I wasn't aware of the 0.5% bit so thanks for that tip.
Got 54,854 - B/E 115.97.
