I refer you to the lgen website. This states the ex-dividend date is 25/04/24 and be record dates is 26/04/24. See https://group.legalandgeneral.com/en/investors/financial-calendar
Phyl, there's a good chance that this will drop a lot lower over the next few weeks, as it sometimes does, that is why I made the comment, why top up today
I usually hold like yourself, but had my reasons this time as I explained
Best of luck mate
Nope - it is trading ex dividend, i.e without the dividend portion of the share. Hence why LGEN is down 6% today - good opportunity to buy though if you are a long long..!
Go ex divs today, doubt it
No
No had to be holding at close yesterday gla holders regards jack
No, 'fraid not.
No, the dividend is payable to people owning the share yesterday.
By the way, my strategy is to re-invest the dividends which is exactly what I've done. This strategy helps bring down the average cost per share. Only really works for those keeping hold of em. Not for day traders obviously.
Bought today at £2.32 - do I get the dividend?
Good morning Rob, I can understand anyone buying on the drop. I've done it myself, but I can't understand anyone selling on the drop. Sell either side of ex-div when the SP tends to be higher. Undoubtedly, the SP will recover its drop today over time. It always does.
Lam, why would you buy on the morning it's gone exdiv ?
25k bought. The rest holding for divi, but jeeze its dropped a fair bit.
Final Ex-Dividend Date 25-Apr-2024
Final Dividend Payment Date 06-Jun-2024
Gotcha & thanks.
Apologies to thecumbrian.
H88, I think you'll find that the TheCumbrian is referring to the price fall today (4.5p/14.63p) not the normal 2:1 dividend split between final and interim dividends.
2/3s gone as this one is the final divi, not the interim.
That’s 1/3 of the divi gone today.
Kept mine, as I always do, and always regret it.
Hopefully the predicted plummet will be short lived.
In fact I took a hit of £330, but I got £982 dividend. So, I didn't make a loss, hehe.
My other half I have sold earlier that has done better. I made £1800 on the lot.
Yes, let's hope that we'll make more in the future. 😂😂😂
Good evening sidi, well it didn't reach the 2.60 that i said it would several months ago, but at least we have all made a profit and hopefully more to come
Best of luck to you and all that invest here
Good evening robleo, I have sold my other half a couple of days ago. If the market is bad tomorrow, then LGEN probably will drop to or somewhere near to 230. A few days later, maybe we can buy at 220's or even lower, depends on the market conditions. I have put my order in to buy at £2.20.
Hope you are keeping well mate. Have a nice evening and good luck.
Gary, I don't blame you that's a good average and this has always been a good dividend paying stock, for myself i'm a bit heavier that i probably should be here for a single share, also i paid a bit too much for my last top up here pushing my average up to 2.40, so if i get an opportunity to buy back for a lot less i may do so, if not i'm happy with what i'm holding
best of luck guys
Only joshing LTI, good luck mate, no offence intended.
Rob - I never really intended to sell any here as I'm invested in single company shares solely for dividends should I ever need them. I'm happy to collect my £515 in June & share price fluctuations don't really bother me. My average here is below £1.90 so I have some breathing space. Good luck all those invested here & elsewhere.
Sorry looking at vod board at same time.
