Hi I think you are referring to the nominal or "par value" of 10p? You wouldn't actually have bought at that price. You will have paid the "share price" and that will have been more. If want to understand in detail there are good explanations elsewhere if you search on "par value". Apologies if I've misunderstood your question and, if so, by all means ignore my reply!
thanks for the reply. Was really hoping that it would have been more. reason I am saying that is because I bought the shares in about 2000? Ordinary Shares at 10p each. If the shares have come up from 24p in 5 years, they must have been worth 10p in 2004. Can that be the case?
200 @ 97.30 minus dealing costs = around £175
Hi All, many years ago I bought KCOM shares, 200 of them. Can any one please tell me the value of the shares now. is it 2000 Pounds? Thanks for any replys
Almost all comms stocks making gains, what is happening here,
Buyers 7 to 1 sells why the drop.
4.9 % off the year high in a depressed market ( and that takes no account of the dividend ) makes KCOM my star performer , 3 cheers for KCOM
What's going on with kcom ? Vodafone making a bid ha ha. interesting though
mighty large trades in here this week/?
http://www.investegate.co.uk/kcom-group-plc--kcom-/rns/interim-management-statement/201401310700139429Y/ No movement on good news?
Are we due some news from the BOD, the share price is rising on no new news or have I missed something?? I know the fundamentals are on place etc but this is looking nice and strong - any thoughts? Divi next week I think. Invest it wisely!
To all fellow Kcom shareholders , Hope you have enjoyed the "ride" and are looking forward to an equally productive forthcoming New Year, great share to be holding.
As I get Kcom emails , the recent trading update , having read it myself is nothing less than positive . Whilst I admit I am sitting on a paper loss of about £ 4.5k in the last couple of days I really am not worried ( and trust me I am not a ramper )Everything I read was positive , preferred provider for government contract ( to be confirmed) and 11% increase in interim div.All the rest was good -buys were 3.75 X sells today
Third quarter update due Tuesday it will be good to see the progress being made and will give an idea for the full year and wether the share valuation can be increased again. Let's hope for positive news and future progress - no complaints so far this year.
What a result over a pound today. Starts to make you wonder DEBS1. Strong buying numbers. Someone knows something, time will tell.
Up to a pound today. Is someone lining up a bid or what? Perhaps the bod are talking to someone and it has leaked. All will be revealed! Good luck all Kcom holders.
£1 before Christmas and a bit of dividend in the new year, would be nice.C8.
140 trades on an average day equates to about 210--300 k shares changing hands . On this basis I may only be guessing , but someone aquired 1 million + shares. 14 times as many were bought rather than sold so if that is not a sign of happy times ahead I do not know what is. Unusual trading patterns ( buys) seem to be followed shortly after by a nice rise. Best guess for Christmas --I will plump for 99.1 p . What do you think ?
Yes DEBS1 a fair amount of shares traded today and 97p reached. I think the £1 share is when now not if. All eyes will be on the trading results delivered at the end of November.
Difficult to believe the share price of Kcom, we all knew it was a good share but didn't know how good!! Could we see £1-00 before long? A good hold and perhaps still a buy well done Kcom.
No alarms and no surprises. Great. C8
Just popped into VOD and seen some huge sales today. Me wonders if that's were the KCOM buyers are coming from.
The talk of Vodaphone and large amounts of buying into KCOM would make sense with so much money in their pockets but I am not so sure that's the case, I think the board of KCOM talk always from a reserved position of strength and confidence in their future business goals. They are now well on the way to expanding with new technology and no longer seen as just a Hull telephone service Company. The share price has sat in the dark doing nothing much for a good while. I think that smart money knows it will be sooner rather than later that the SP will accelerate if the economy continues to grow beyond its current state. They always announce something new in the Autumn statement and my guess is some body knows more about what is to come. We should not forget they are partnered with O2 and that has not really come into the lime light just yet. What ever it is I believe the Company has some surprises to share.
Hi Ragamuffin , glad you are back . The point I was trying to make ( to everyone) was that today approximately 1 share in every 45 in issue were bought .How many do the traders have available ? The price dropped a smidge , but how could that amount get bought ,and the SP seem not to reflect it .I am not for selling and hold a small shed load of these . Who would buy , if they thought the price was dropping and who would sell given that things look so promising ( at least for whoever aquired 11 million shares ) Normal trades are about 1-2 k per . trade (in numbers )Can anyone explain to me , because I would be really grateful .
me thinks it could be a collection of shares for a trade at the end. Just something i remember with a big ISH at the end.
