Absolutely the right question for existing shareholders. And the answer is that existing shareholders remain unimpacted, assuming 75% of creditors support the CVA payment plan (typically, CVA payment plan is drafted after consultation with creditors and stakeholders on how much delaying payment they are willing to live with). Once approved, creditor pressures on the balance sheet are then taken care of, and the company buys time to turn things around.
Its important to be mindful of any share dilution too (if things actually get that far).
Thank you……I get that if company goes into liquidation all will be lost, however, isn’t a cva slightly different?
What i think is going to happen is this: there will at least be a bridging loan from Tom to cover November 30th repayments and allow turnaround work to continue. There may also be an equity raise and some investment coming in…….however a cva may also be needed to help exit unprofitable stores etc. The long term result will be a return to profit in the long term.
So what I really want to know (if indeed there is a definitive answer) is does a cva automatically wipe out shareholders, or does share trading continue through the process?
Any info would be great as I’d really like to understand the effects of cva (as opposed to insolvency/liquidation) :)

If Joules go ahead with cva what happens to shareholders? Are they wiped out and share trading suspended etc?……………I believe strongly that Joules will survive the storm, however a cva to enable this wouldn’t surprise me. I would personally be happy to hold shares for the long term, but obviously not if a cva would just wipe everything out completely with no possibility of recovery.
Can anyone advise? Many thanks.
Next may just wait until Joules goes in to admin and take it for peanuts like they did with Made.com.
It's very risking here.
They have stated they may not be able to pay the loan back on 30th so the seeds are there being spread for admin whether one likes the idea or not.
Yup me too ..sold £5ks on Friday thinking I'd regret it but didn't expect the price to collapse quite so quickly...it's a risky "investment" for sure but a great brand
Down she goes
Have to say, knowing Tom a little I also can’t see that happening. That said I did get out yesterday at a small profit (bought at the low). May well buy back in, but just want to see how the next couple of weeks pan out really….especially nov 30th.
Should start to see new PPL here soon IF this continues to drop !
Think many will take a punt on a successful turnaround, may buy back in myself IF it goes to around 7p
ATB
I’d be amazes if Tom let that happen
Fashion shares such as Joules could have an injection of cash to help it survive a little longer, but The Daily Mail is suggesting their outlook is still looking grim - as follows.................
''The firm launched a turnaround plan in September after retail giant Next abandoned plans to inject £15million into business.
However, the high street giant could just be waiting in the wings 'in case the target goes into administration and then pick up the brand on the cheap', according to AJ Bell's investment director, Russ Mould.''
i commented a few weeks back that i went to a Joules sale at Stoneleigh , my son in law bought 2 sizes of the same coat so he chose the one he wanted when at home and then took the other one back to a Joules store, they gratefully refunded him and said the could now put it back on their rack and sell it for the full price!!
i dont condone buying items and taking them back by the way,he( son in law) seems to think its ok and even recieved an email off Adidas saying they wouldnt supply him in the future cos he kept returning items
I sold this morning after visiting my local joules. Lots of stock and not much footfall. The RNS wasn’t great. It is Tom or bust. Since selling it recovered a bit but tbh I was so far down it made near no difference
I am hoping for a low price raise and will get in again as I like the brand. We will see
Crazy buying pressure. Thought we would of headed North. Something must be cooking
600k purchase.
Agreed,
Bought in today 1,624,730 shares.
Looking forward to a re-rating once investors realise the background quality of investors & management here.
All the best
Many more buys than sells.Today most probably was an opportunity to get into this share at a low price. This share is going to do well whenever the fundraise takes place .Do not understand why it took a hit today as the RNS was quite positive and this company is not going bust
8p could be the number.
Hopefully an open offer...
shares
