I'll be taking mine up too
I received a secure email from HL yesterday saying that they will be writing to all shareholders about the Open Offer. I have already moved the funds into my accounts to allow me to participate.
I'll be taking mine up
I'm In undoubtedly! FREE MONEY.
Financial situations aside I struggle to think why any shareholder wouldn't speedy. Took a look at the careers pages earlier and saw the all trades advert again. I cannot but think there is big revenues heading our way. So yes, I will be taking the offer. Hopefully the placing shares are in sticky hands as I'd be well happy with 10 percent discount as a reward for being here so blummin long haha
Shares @ .45 looks to good to turn down at this time. Any other takers here?

Locally, we have also seen some examples of very encouraging news. After over eighteen months of vigorous discussions with my cabinet colleagues, decision-makers in Whitehall, overseas customers and the industry, Appledore Shipyard opened its doors once more;
Interesting read there thanks ,shows how hydrogen is the future resource to supply clean energy of the future ,infra certainly have the opportunity to get involved
Crown Estate Scotland mini study to be undertaken

Interesting article in DT. The Swedish outpost pioneering fossil-free steel. It highlights intensions by Swedish energy company, Vattenfall, to build 120,000 sq mtr LINED underground storage facility...this must cost far more than the proposed salt cavern storage at IM. Just highlights once again how this project is right on the money. This type of article completely kills off the environment argument about short term saline pollution.
Thanks Spud, yes a massive year in terms of proving the technology with improve output. I am certain in the coming years we will see massive scale up and deployment not only in Europe but around the globe. If I connect that to the WDVs and PLSVs that will be needed , then there clearly is a demand for the vessels being made by Triumph from large operators now moving into this “niche”market. As noted in the article you shared, the capital needed to deploy floating still dwarfs that required for oil and gas. I read that Petrobras has extended the charters on 3 Subsea7 vessels up to the end of 2022 (link below). I expect that once newer, greener PLSV and WDVs are available there will be a switch in the charters to reduce open and improve the environmental profile. Big changes and I remain confident that the LOI will be converted into a contract and that the second vessel will also be contracted in due course. The first steel is being cut on the Triumph vessel in Brodosplit in Q1 and we could take the progress of that build as a lead indicator. The ducks are perfectly aligned here but it is not too far fetched either. https://www.offshore-mag.com/rigs-vessels/article/14182886/petrobras-extends-three-subsea-7-pipelay-support-vessel-charters
Just seen this https://www.niferry.co.uk/stena-hibernia-to-dry-dock-during-january-with-birkenhead-ship-to-cover/ will update when I have confirmation on how long Hibernia will be in dock probably on Saturday. ThisTimeNextYeer did post that it will be for a week.
It's now on the Belfast harbour bookings page that Stena Hibernia is in dry dock (BDD) on 2nd January.
“Toll” not till
On the face of it there would seem to be a real synergy in NI for hydrogen production, storage and distribution (by grid blending into SNIP or for use as a transport fuel).
The increasing proportion of wind generated electricity in NI, a proportion of which could be used in powering electrolysis for H2 production and cavern storage looks like an elegant solution to decarbonise the economy.
Caverns could be segregated for H2, methane and/or even CO2 storage. Given there is “room” for over 20 large caverns in the saliferous beds underlying the shallow waters off Larne there could be multiple uses and the company could lease, till and/or arbitrage across the space they create from leaching the caverns.
It doesn’t sound at all far fetched to me!
Thanks Speedy
I also hope NI govt have their eyes on this project which proposes to use salt caverns for Hydrogen storage (see picture diagram in link)

"I look forward to support for many more UK people to buy fishing boats old and new, to increase our share of the catch and land it close to food processing factories and industrial freezers.
There should be encouragement to build more fishing vessels – and fishery protection and coastguard vessels – in UK yards.
The UK is a global power with an impressive maritime history. We need to renew, to increase flag vessels using our flag and services, enhance our navy, grow our shipbuilding and revitalise our coastal towns with new industry.
This is now all possible. Repealing the EU ports legislation will help, and using sensible state aids and intelligent government buying to back UK developments will reverse the flow where the EU used state aids against many of our industries in the past to woo investment elsewhere."
Tango1 I hope you are right but I must question the veracity of any statement from him.
Pledging the changes he promised are going to happen, couple that with JW's statement regarding "immediately after Brexit" I think we are in for some fireworks in the first couple of weeks in the new year. AIMHO

Speedy good find thanks for link
This should highlight the potential of Islandmagee. Lets hope N.I. govt is watching.

I checked the harbour traffic page too Stokey and i agree it doesn't show it coming into dry dock so I've nothing concrete that I can confirm to you it's coming in. I've a few contacts I've got to know though in various shipping pages and my info has came from the same source that told me Celtic Explorer was coming to H & W before it hit the harbour traffic page. He won't give me any more info though other than it's coming in and will probably be here for a week. Sorry to be so sketchy but watch for it coming onto the harbour traffic page shortly.
