JOHN WOOD
Can anyone confirm the level of capability and experience of any senior members of H&W/Infrastrata when it comes to new build vessels please?
Shipbuilding
As promised, the future for UK shipbuilding is looking much brighter. Not only will the National Shipbuilding strategy be refreshed and expanded to include the supply chain, but industry can expect involvement in the construction of 7 or 8 separate classes of ships and submarines in the next decade. The programme includes; 4 x Dreadnought SSBNs, 4 remaining Astute SSNs, 8 x Type 26 frigates, 5 x Type 31 frigates (and then Type 32 ) 1 x MROSS and up to 6 MRSS.
Overall shipbuilding investment will double over the life of this Parliament, rising to over £1.7bn a year. UK industry will also be involved in the construction of 4 fast attack craft for the Ukrainian navy.
Nothing in the commons briefing from Ben Wallace. It's my gut instinct that we will hear nothing until the ML award is announced. The decision they will be passed to the Northern Ireland government is due at months end but then we have the government decision which one would be a relatively quick process but it leaves wiggle room if for any reason it needs to be stalled a little longer.Let's hope that the stalling is over and infa are given the green light or the shovel ready shovel may have rusted away.
Realturbo,good find there

(Apologies if already posted)
Tony nearly 16:30hrs lets see what they say in the commons then you can decide
It's INFA somehow the news that's impending will be kicked into the future.
As its due this week, maybe sometime around 2525.
Not far off news now imho
Cheers Stokey, one way or the other by the end of tomorrow we will be much clearer in how the mod will be supporting the levelling up agenda I think. If not then we will just have to wait for a long awaited rns or 2
Further to my post of 08.33 confirmation has been given in this tweet from the Leader of the House of Commons. https://twitter.com/CommonsLeader/status/1373931598861774858. It means that the Defence Review statement will not start until around 4.30pm. The start time will depend on how long the statement and questions from the FCDO lasts so realistically anytime from 4pm to 4.30. This means that there will be limited chance of anything being said will the markets are open.
All the news channels reporting frigate orders going out, Let's have one!
Hmmm.. Lawyers with brains.. Nice One !!
Harland & Wolff only ever failed because it was owned by an oil exploration company with management that had no interest in developing the business. It's a legendary outfit, mostly famous for its work on the Titanic, and even if Labour win a GE Starmer is a moderate compared to Corbyn, he's a lawyer so probably at least has some brains, he will know a UK out of the EU needs to be able to fend for itself.
Jabido In relation to your 08.40 post I got that from the London Stock Exchange website. The price dropped to 0.50 at about 8am.
Thanks Stokey, no I didn't notice that pre market price action. Could it be the software you are using? I got an alert about a month ago saying infa was rocketing over 150%! Scrambled around for an rns that never happened. I saw it as a taster of things to come :D
Jabido In relation to your 08.25 I will confirm once I have checked the leader of the house of commons twitter feed at around 2pm in case there are other statements or urgent questions. If there are no other statements or urgent questions then 3.30pm would be the time for the statement. It would not surprise me if there is not some kind of question or statement in relation to the events in Bristol. This would have the effect of ensuring the Defence White Paper statement is after the close of trading.
Out of interest did you note that in early trade at around 7.30 the share price was up 2p I wonder if that is an indication of something.
Morning all, defence secretary will be making a statement at 3.30pm today in the commons. Will be watching for any mention or hint of business for h&w. Tomorrow is the defence industrial strategy announcement too so if I was a betting man I'd say 2mo is most likely to be where locations for work are announced in line with the levelling up agenda
Her ain't gonna be in for a very long time so don't worry there,as for contracts,/ML, risk reward comes to mind gl.
Not at all in fact I wouldn't trust a word he says but if infa getting defence contracts is in his and the governments interests then it will happen.JW gave the game away on election night when his tweet as good as guaranteed that infa would benefit from the Conservative club.In my opinion for what it's worth its not if but when.
Chitta123 In relation to your 14.35 do you have any evidence that the PM is a gentleman?
A gentleman's agreement doesn't need an rns .Infa will know what's coming .No way they would commit to the levels they have on a maybe.JW has already been to downing street.
If we think back a few weeks JW was talking of utilising (Special technology) was that a hint at the proposed new ship???
sits well along side the windfarm vessel. All will soon be clear for that I am certain.
Stokey, didn't mention much except the one ship he stated yesterday onto tommorrow and Tuesday then ,speculation may start to move the share I think ,see you tomorrow have a good day
Chitta123 In relation to your 09.35 post I am in partial agreement with you. I agree that the way that INFA have been increasing staff including in HR implies that they believe that contracts are imminent. As I understand it if a contract is signed and it is material then an RNS or other notification to the market should follow. When something is material is a bit subjective for instance when I asked on LinkedIn JW said a RNS in relation to the barge at Appledore was not going to be made as it is not material. However other people on the feed thought that the fact that it was the commencement of commercial operations at Appledore did warrant a RNS. As to why we have not had an announcement yet there are two possibilities. Firstly, it could be that the contracts signed so far are not deemed material and, therefore, do not need to be disclosed. That is assuming that there have been contracts. Secondly, the work that INFA is aware of relates to MOD work and is tied in to the Integrated Review and this has caused a delay so as not to preempt any statement in the House of Commons. Of course it could be both reasons.
I am not convinced about the importance of the Islandmagee project and the grant of the Marine License to the fortunes of INFA going forward.
