I didn't take up the RI not because I think i'm smart but because I thought there was too much uncertainty surrounding these shares at the mo and there is a possibility of them going to 50p but I think that is an outside chance. lets see, i may buy some if the go into the 60's and definately into the 50's...They will not be bailed out by BoJo and co for many reasons, but they don't need to be...the share will pick up, when is anyones guess :-)
Ps i'm flying with BA next week to cape town on a flat bed, I wouldn't choose any other airline and I know many feel the same and cant wait to fly again...I'll think of you whilst I'm drinking a G&T and will hope those that lost money manage to recoup their loses. Don't panic Mr Mannering!
if the executive/non executive board of a company do not have confidence in the company to invest fully even at discounted prices it speaks volumes to me. Notwithstanding these people will be privy to inside information. Having seen what has gone on with this stock over the last few months i really se this as uninvestable. It is a gamble punt on a vaccine being announced. That is all!
i think you're referring to the Qatari's Calamari. They'll have taken up their rights!
The BoD not taking their rights is an absolute disgrace!
just seems obvious to me. you'll have so many investors who were duped by greed into taking up the 'discounted' 84p shares that they would have scraped together all available funds to take up their rights. well, it was a no brainer wasn't it? SP 134, RI share 84p. 50p profit overnight on morning of 7th October. All these peeps now will panic sell to recoup that saving cash so will be mayhem on the market!
@Calamari. The SP the weeks before the RI date was pumped artificially high which Is why I stated several times before the 11th you will obtain a better deal out the RI tent than within it- please check my posts. New investors were suckered with the discount and the number of shares offered was irresponsible a 6th form Business student could have done a better job. At least Alex and his pals had the sense not to take up their rights, what does that say about a BOD who sell their rights?
Is my thinking right that anyone who brought pre RI (£2)and taken the rights issue (at 88p) would roughly have an average of £1.32. That actually means they are already 28.5% down after taking the RI. This company will survive given their strong balance sheet now with the rights issue completed. Easyjet struggling will be blessing in disguise as that essentially means more business for IAG, Jet2, Wizzair or Ryanair. US Travel / Airline shares have all risen on Friday and i would not be suprised to see this rise as well. Not too long ago and time will tell.
i'll be waiting till 7th Teddy. Really wouldn't like to call the bottom on this one or i'd be WAM's best mate. Could go anywhere, i'm in no rush for this one, No FOMO here!
So tell me this Paddy if the SP is sub 80p tomorrow, will you be buying or wait until the 7th?
this will test 80p level tomorrow!
Manipulation will turn to dumping on 7th October!
i saw it coming Teddy, & i saw the same when the TERP shares originally traded. More manipulation again & so obvious to me. I posted as such on here but got heckled as a deramper. We both know where this share is going Teddy & in a few weeks we probably be back on here with a vengeance LOL
Paddy, you have to feel sorry for anyone who took up the RI, it was manipulation at its finest. I could not believe the SP the week before the RI all those poor investors duped. I remember a few rampers who seem to have gone very quiet all of a sudden, Portland being one of them, which is why you need contrasting views on a BB to provide balance.
Teddy, pretty much the same. i'll look at an investing here again when it falls below 80p. Far cry from June isn't it? what a complete debacle!
Paddyboy I agree and whatever happens with the share going South in the next 10 days I would not be able to commit until the 7th as that is certainly going to have a ripple effect. Testing will not save the airlines they need a vaccine and I think we will see one before the year end, anything sub 75p will be a steal for this share and is my entry point if I am lucky. I think we have about 3 weeks max for a position and then we will see more positive sentiment towards the airlines.
RI shares begin trading 7th October. that will be one very volatile day for this share!
Hi Neutronic, I’m not sure where you’re checking, but the market cap at the moment is just under £5b.
If you’re doing the calculations yourself, I’d assume you’re working it out based on current SP * amount of current rights actively trading. The additional rights from the RI have been included into the mcap, but aren’t currently trading. I believe they go live to trading Monday 5th Oct.
Hope this helps
Neutronic, Mkt Cap is the share price X amount of issued shares. At the moment IAG's MC does not reflect the RI capital raise!
Can someone please explain Market cap,
Seems IAG market cap at £1.88b which is just shy of what was raised in the RI.
Is market cap company value? If so, taking into account, assets, cash in bank, RI, how is this so low?
