Given the geopolitical situation I guess we all know that this week and the next are going to be a pain.
However! from a chart point of view, looks like IAG simply bounced off (quite hard) from resistance levels and retraced, possibly filling some gaps?
Any chartist here that can give an educated guesstimate on what's going on from a stats perspective?
Iran are doing everything they can to provoke the Israeli's to stop them cosying up to Egypt Jordan & most importantly, Saudi Arabia. The Israeli's under Natanyahoo (sic) are behaving like Pavlovian Dogs
The victims as usual are mainly innocent civilians. There is no military solition to the Middle East only a political one. The USA now needs to stop Israel escalating things further by blocking aid to them.
sorry for all those who see my message as just political.
hi fordm.
i've been looking at the board in hope of your sensible thoughts on last weekend.
i see brit press and it ****es me of how biased it is. in my view. (for what it's worth.) iran had every right to do what they did.
i expect airlines will recover for summer and more so olympics. but doubt very much there will be a truce.
why should russia except a truce. when they are not allowed to compete. it's sad for the young who want to compete. but at least it gives the americans a chance to win a gold.
hope you are well and enjoying the nice weather. we can finally put away the woollies.
take care
kevin
Editor - why was my last post deleted? If it was because it contained the phrase antiseptic that is unacceptable
JG68,
Agree - some of the posts are toxic and a couple plain and simply antisemitic. I’ve reported a couple however it seems if you suggest a ban on shorting as happened a few days ago your post is withdrawn yet some of rhe posts here which test decency are accepted.
F me, some of you people are beginning to sound like Hitler and Nazis in the early 1940s.
More Asians / Arabs have far more assets and money than the small % of Jews you're referring to.
Tines like this when terrorism becomes legitimate and a blind eye is turned, under the pretence of being pro Palestinian.
When in reality people just want to hate Jews.
I'm not defending their indiscriminate bombing, but how are you supposed to defeat an enemy that uses its people as human shields.
Genocide is gassing 6 million Jews, slaughtering women and children in mass graves in Bosnia, mass killing in Rwanda.
Anyway looks like the sell off will be a day late.
Roy ,
If you think Israel does control western asset than , the west should wake up and shake up. They are currently creating the most dangerous future by allowing these monkeys to fire any where they want to without letting western country knows just like they bobmbed Iran embassy in Syria .If 9m people are that brave , imagine when the number of the population doubles . I don’t support Iran neither Israel.
This political geography between west and Middle East needs to end one way the other with war or without war.
No one knows how long me , you or others will live . I , you or others didn’t come to world to watch this war. If the problems is Iran wipe them out , if problem is Israel wipe them out . It is that simple .
77blackbridge. Advice on this or any media ore opinion by small investors without any expertise and even experts go wrong. Everyone has to presume what happens in other words guss work.
Need a lot of good luck and timming
Betterlife- Brilliantly said. Why didn't west do the same for Ukraine beacuse Israel (Jews ) controll lots of assets in western countries
Can Iran and Israel please fk each other do what ever you want to do.
This little hair in my bowl makes me sick 🤮.The west says they won’t get involved with war but god damn you guys don’t come home from Middle East do you ???
Why the hell they didn’t do the same in Ukraine protecting Ukraine from Russian drones ?? Your ironclad works for 9m population but didn’t work for the country who supplies over 70% grain to world. What does Israel supplies you guys ? Guess what a bowl of blood. Fking nonsense.
Well same here, to be fair if we knew exactly how markets react to things we wouldn't be here discussing, and we would be somewhere in the Pacific sipping Dom Perignon.. Anyway glad to be proven wrong for once..
BUT I still feel this is not a real reaction to the news. To me looks like either markets were already anticipating the reaction from Tehran and the obvious Israeli flawless defence OR they are waiting for Israel to decide on the type and time of retaliation before hitting sell
A lot of people took profit last week and then the news hit from Biden warning of the attack. Everything was priced in then, unless there were additional issues today which there doesn't seem to be. Slow recovery back up until the next bit of news!
I wouldn't rush to sell this stock am sure thing stock will pick up.

This sort of explains the market reaction, or lack of, to the weekend events. We've all become slaves to Israel, fabulous.
None of my clothes fit me now because of that stupid machine!
Considered a stop loss this morning for half my holding @ 165, which I did not set.
Time will tell if I was correct.
Been in here a long, long time, seen many up but far more downs.
Gla.
Expected a sizeable drop this morning, so (like others here) I am somewhat mystified, and relieved. However, this story isn't over yet - Israel's retaliation is definitely more when than if, so I am ditching a few (across the board) just to reduce my exposure to future shocks, which seem to hit this sector on a remarkably regular basis.
Still worrying times.
I came in here over the weekend for some advise from people who know more than I do. I may as well have gone to Skegness and paid £2 into the Mystic Zoltan All Seeing Future Machine.
I expected a big drop this morning. Shows what I know. To an ordinary punter like me markets are totally illogical but I'm sure the big players know exactly what's going on. Conspiracy theorist?
i’m sure there taking the **** out of us ……war breaks out further ….they go up !….record prophets they go down ….covid nothing flying ……year high !…..incredible

As you say, who can understand the stock markets.
Well my "tin hats", has not happened so far, neither has the brace brace.
Stock markets who can understand them!!
Fingers crossed.
Gla
Brace brace
Clued, of course not all stocks will be affected but clearly there will be downward pressure across most stocks and markets. Uncertainty and fear only trigger sells.
For Oil Gas and Defence, of course that's a different perspective, but mind that this war is already priced in most defence stocks and Iranian oil is off the market anyway so can't see them making big jumps up either.
I would expect gold and bitcoin go up though.
But for IAG, brace ourselves, this is going to take a long time..
With oil not gapping up, i hope this will be good news for airlines.
