sorry ment olly
oily / if you held for so long why haven`t you waited till after 11th July
After being a hurricane share holder for some years ,i .have sold my shares. The sp has just not performed,it might well in the future, but i am not prepared to wait as i have other opportunities. Also -- as an aside--i am sick of people who think that the planet cannot be saved without their intervention, telling me what to think and what to do. For the time being this country needs as much local oil and gas as it can get,and those who dis like it can shove their opinions where the sun dont shine. We need people who will be proud of this country, not constantly put it down.
We understand, Chavez.
Don't take it personally.

My name has been much misspelt over the centuries, Chengiz, Jengis, Chinggis, Changez, Jinggish, to name a few.
I will restrain my hordes from ravishing your lands in revenge at this small slight. :)

I understand your reasoning , but if it was going up - as it has happened prior to other RNSs, and not just here - we would say people were getting on board in anticipation of a rise.
None of it makes sense to me, I know it's not 100% certain but in O&G terms, it's a near as dammit.
Yet plenty of other events with much lower CoS see SP bid up before news.
As Biffa says, it's all happening on thin volume so we should not read too much into it.
Hugely frustrating, not to say mystifying, for us LTHs tho.
What confuses me chaps is that Dr T suddenly seems to be a recluse. Before the AM toddled off for her sunny hols in Dubai no one seemed to be able to keep him from leaping in front of every camera available - whether that was with Malcy or some other bloke/blokess. Now he seems to be a shrinking violet. I hope its not because he's growing a disguise as a precaution.
Genghis
Apologies for the misspelling. Nothing intended; just my awful spelling and spellcheck doesn’t do usernames.

Biffadog said it:
“My personal view is people are waiting for a successful RNS at WD before getting back on board.”
It is also my view and arguably stating the obvious.
Volume is low and no one is keen to take a heavy long position until there is an RNS out on WD.
Like many I am at a loss as to the current level and direction of the SP.
I thought we would be nudging 70p. at the very least, following successful FOIL and every reason to expect a positive WD well result. 53p is a nonsense, but I have no idea at all how or why it is where it is.
I am sure we will see a flare this week, followed, probably Monday, by another laconic RNS saying the well flowed and further info will be revealed on CMD.
CMD now becomes the possible Big Bang event, imho. We know HUR will give out much more reservoir/production detail on the EPS ; if I am right they will hit us with an upgraded batch of info on WD at the same time.
What will that info be?
Well, I'm thinking even better than expected PI, daily flow, and mb other parameters from EPS, and for WD to confirm good flow from deeper levels so proving up both a huge resource and another world class reservoir.
And that surely must attract the sort of attention that pushes the SP nearer to analysts targets, which fwiw are 100p+.
Took the liberty to change the thread title as the SP has not crashed.
Volume is very low so no news leak. DST is ongoing by all accounts.
So expect an RNS in the very near future. Hopefully good news.
My personal view is people are waiting for a successful RNS at WD before getting back on board.
If WD fails for any reason then all is not lost as Spirit/HUR have confirmed they will still go ahead with the super giant (in it's own right) 500M barrel Lincoln field.
HUR also have the whole of GLA to be getting on with so the net result is a reduction in total reserves of about 500M barrels (250M net to HUR).
Obviously, the SP will take a hit in the short term if this happens.
However, I'm with Genghis, in that everything points to getting a great result at Warwick (COS 77%) and there is no way Spirit will not go the distance (time and money) to produce positive results here, if at all possible.
IMHO a result at WD and some good initial readings from the EPS will break this out over 64p.
For the moment we are simply drifting in the doldrums.
