Agreed LTI, if the nav creeps up so will the SP! Discount to nav verses premium to nav is interesting but as I was saying to Ade they wouldn’t have bought some back if they didn’t see value?
Which is more of an interest to me, is currently at 216p.

Link for HFEL MSCI closest benchmark for those who are interested.
James
OK maybe I have some understanding why you disagree with my views but can I ask please leave the personals.
No problem, I invest for return on investment it’s that simple and yield income is a big part of why I invest. Perceived value and dividends are my bag, a few punts here and there. Nice chatting and glad we hopefully buried a few misconceptions. All the best ade.
James,
If we cannot agree on yield. I really cannot ask or explain anything.
Assuming 6.1ppq as the benchmark yes of course but as you can appreciate I’m only looking at this subjectively because to me yield is return on investment paid rather than what you get at the now price.
James,
"The buy now yield is that but my averages are just under and just over 3 quid not allowing for dividends received so I guess that makes my return around 8%?"
I guess this is the yield to you at the prices you bought. This is why I am asking the questions step by step. This was not my question.
Buying today can we agree the yield is 12% plus or minus and the management fee is 1%?
Ade, not meant as a pop as that was probably down to my interpretation!
I don’t think I ever said get off the board as that’s not my style or indeed down to me although in those days I was confused about you being a holder or not a holder…..let’s move on please.
The buy now yield is that but my averages are just under and just over 3 quid not allowing for dividends received so I guess that makes my return around 8%?
"Your posts do come over as muddled at times and that’s not meant as a criticism"
Still having some sort of a pop
James
I don't wish to labour the point but being told to get off the board is personal. Hopefully no more about that.
To start can we agree the yield is 12% plus or minus and the management fee is 1%.
Ade, if you perceive someone has a pop at you don’t let it get to you and don’t take it personally. Your posts do come over as muddled at times and that’s not meant as a criticism. I’m interested in why a buyback popped up as it doesn’t happen very often and am curious about the timing of it.
When all said and done I find it more interesting engaging in conversations about HFEL because it’s a big holding for me. Catch up later if you’re about.
James,
Given the hostility of this board towards me personally I am not going to give an opinion for some to pooh pooh all my posts. I will discuss with you the information you should consider and you can make up your own mind.
More than happy to be friendly going forwards!
I’d imagine he’s got a few ideas of his own and maybe doing a few repurchases is one of them with the low SP as we all are very aware of plus the switch from premium to discount to nav must be uncomfortable for the management. Time will tell.
The question is, what do we know about the new manager considering he has been MK's underling for many years. Or is it a case of meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
James
I extended the olive branch first. We are dealing with your response.
James
Are we friends?
This is an opportunity, an olive branch if you like to discuss two HFEL facts on the HFEL board rather than get drawn into a regurgitation of ‘he said, she said’ which I’m at pains to move on from!
I think it’s positive because directors generally don’t buy into a sinking ship and companies tend to buyback shares if they think they’re too cheap…agree or disagree?
James
Are we friends or not?
James
'i think sometimes you get too wrapped up in the management side almost like a disgruntled ex employee and any positivity on hfel gets railroaded by negativity and all the hogwash about dividend washing etc sounds more like a conspiracy theory!'
You posted.
'director buy and the buyback'
FACT
Well I do keep asking the same question mate!
James
'So what are your thoughts about the director buy and the buyback RNS’d yesterday?'
'i think sometimes you get too wrapped up in the management side almost like a disgruntled ex employee and any positivity on hfel gets railroaded by negativity and all the hogwash about dividend washing etc sounds more like a conspiracy theory!'
The first is a fact. Do you want my opinion but how can you want an opinion given the second statement?
So you’d rather play a game of he said, she said than talk about the director buy and the buyback?
James
i’m not looking for arguments or justification for opinions on here and implications i’m a paid agent of the company, told to move to china etc will be treated with the contempt they deserve.
I think you are looking for an argument.
Perhaps not you but HFEL have said they monitor social media outlets. Their words. Nobody said you.
You are as petty as those you complain about.
