This is one of the few high street stars with a bright future. Will be interesting to see what Roisin does to grow the business.
You did at that Sir
Alot of the drop is down to the main man finishing and the uncertainty it creates,
Can only hope the lady in waiting hits the ground running and continues to build on the great work already done.
I did warn everyone last week Halma!
Good work ??
Shares trading 2940/2945p

Nice work Sir,
I've no concerns here, the longer you hold, the better it gets.
Four times crossover of lower bollinger band over a very short period gave me feeling that this was way oversold. I missed the lowest point but got back in at 2979p so already in small profit. It won't be long before this is back at 3400p again and more IMHO.
Wished I'd bought more this morning
Oversold …Buy set 2945p

One month low & support 2.
Just incase

No, you spooked before thinking.
It rose very quickly a few days ago and today it corrected itself to align with the general price curve.
Look again before you say anything more
Sub 3000 on it's way.....it's peaked.
The day after this kind of drop, usually spells a rise and I see that from this level.
Plenty of stock will have been bought at this price for both short and long term.
I agree, I’m in again, after trading 2 or 3 times and wishing I’d held.
This may well drop a bit more in the short term but once we’ve all had omicron and towns , cities, trading estates , service stations and drive ins are fully open this will be £ 40
Todays little pull back from all time high is just based on 'pie in the sky'........:-))
agreed - Greggs is a great company - selling what people want at a great price - There is always a queue at my local greggs. Over reaction but it won't last long!
This news has obviously come as a big surprise to many and it's had an adverse affect on what should have been a rise in the S.P but we all know the conditions we're trading in at present and yesterday's massive sell off on Wall Street hit our shores this morning.
Calm your nerves, this is a great company, making lot's of money and has shown extreme resilience when things got really tough.
I wonder what the market reaction to the results would have been without the CEO news. The results are very solid all things considered. The CEO news was to be expected and no disrespect to our new leader, but any change of successful boss was going to be met with some kind of worry by sections of the market. Whatever the case, as we have a long-term insider taking over, I'm confident of continued progress by this highly competent company.
Great trading update with record sales, even bigger than before covid 19 started. 'The Pies the limit' for Greggs!!!
The C.E.O news isn't good news right at this moment in time but the share price is good to buy
LONDON, Jan 6 (Reuters) - British food-to-go retailer Greggs
said its retail and property director Roisin Currie
would succeed Roger Whiteside as chief executive in May, as it
reported a 0.8% rise in like-for-like sales for its fourth
quarter compared to two years ago.
The company, known for its sausage rolls, sandwiches and
cakes, said it anticipated its full-year outcome would be
slightly ahead of its previous expectations.
If it's good, another quid rise might be on the cards but best be wary of what's being banded around and how it might affect the business in the short term.
I'll be happy if we can keep building our share price gradually over many year's to come.
Good luck to all for tomorrow.
re.@TT.......'a pie in the hand is worth two in the bush'.........:-))
Yes @moniman, you know it. "Do not be hasty, hold onto your pastry."
Greggs rule.......Buy pastry, Sell pies....
Seriously though. There was a peak of around 2400p in July 2019 followed by a double top in Jan 2020 at a similar level. Then Covid happened and a bit of turbulence/uncertainty existed in the market. Through this GRG trading was one of the first to emerge. I think that there is a lot more retail money in the market at the moment and GRG is seen as a relatively safe haven. Maybe it was slightly undervalued pre-Covid. I expect a period of merger/acquisition within all markets (cost slashing) and GRG is a very neat addition to the portfolio of much bigger companies. Perhaps...but then I could be on the bakky...Remember my rule "Buy high. Sell low".
