Brilliant company that does brilliant things + they invented the concepts that A1 aids -problem is farmers know how to take a profit and this they are doing
have invested many times here pre covid... good money earner
see futures of live cattle and live hogs,, all up,, live cattle have stayed for 1 year now (i notice grain frices are going lower so feed prices are coming down - generally)
one problem is they guarantee female cattle,, but live cattle prices are exceptionally high and so having a male cattle for slaughter is profitable at a time when farm chemicals are 400% higher
I see this as a company to buy in and out 3 or 4 times a year

Decent revenue growth given conditions, headline numbers caused drop but fundamentals remain strong ;)
Went in too soon!
I buckled today and bought in at 2450. Hoping the Chinese start to loosen up on lockdown and start treating themselves to lots of lovely porky goodness.
No idea why this has been pummelled for the last 5 months, but I’ll buy some at 25 quid.

I used to follow this stock but haven’t looked for a while and was surprised to see it at this level. I’m tempted to get in here. Can anyone sum up the reasons for the massive slump?
Last post: jimmy1961, 16 Mar 2022 09:24
China pledging to support market this morning- perhaps significant? Anyway, I’ve just added a few here - they’re more than 50% off highs.
Still watching. Following the brief drop below 3000, this appears to have stabilised around 3100 -3200, despite the traumatic news from Ukraine. Glimmer of light perhaps?
Dear Mr. Kerching
Bluenalu a lab grown fish company has just signed a deal with the largest sushi restaurant chain in Japan .........This will arrive quicker than you might think...........Agronomics...look them up
You can invest as much as you like, selling lab grown pork chops, chicken nuggets and steak will take a bit of doing. Think I'll have to go veggie ??
China has just announced that it intends to invest in lab-grown meat. If in a few years this proves to be viable then Genus are dust in the wind.

Something afoot here, nigh on 25% drop in a month and no news!
Sell off continues - 52 week low today, sub 4,000…
Thanks Jim, i'll hold off for a bit and average down when the dust settles. GLA
Recommended a buy in IC only last week - at over 5000! Obviously the kiss of death! Fall could be linked to jitters within Chinese economy at the mo, and it seeming to be classified as a tech stock. Techs are under the cosh at the moment with US interest rates forecast to rise. I’m watching to see if the sell off stabilises before topping up. Great medium to long term opportunities here.
Hi all, don't post very often and bought in quite recently when directors purchased. Been on a daily decline of late and i can't find any news as to why. Any LTH's have advice, or is this pattern this the normal with this share? Thanks in advance.

Oh dear… is the fall in share price a buying opportunity at this level (strong fundamentals but short term bumps in the road perhaps), or will it go sub £50????

Hello Mr Maz.
I bought some more of these when it dropped below £50 share the other day and it’s very tempting to sell some or all of my holding. Over the years this share has always grown and never let us down so I am going to hold for now. Results are due next month I think so that might influence any decision that needs to be taken. I see no reason why genus cannot carry on growing and perhaps a takeover bid could occur at any time. Good luck
Doing rather well are you going to sell them?

Been watching agronomics for quite a while and think this could be a worthwhile investment. Not bought in yet but plan to in the near future.

Mr Cheese
Thank you for putting my mind at ease.............Could i suggest a few shares in Agronomics for the Grandchildren.....the future is just beginging to brew
Don’t panic mr maz. This drop has nothing to do with cultured meat. Markets globally are panicking because of possible effects of inflation. Gns is a solid company and always bounces back. I find the best thing is to buy more on these drops and just wait until the inevitable rise. Good luck.

Does anyone think that the rise of lab grown meat in the coming years will put pressure on the genus share price?

obviously not
Thank you Mr Cheese
The sort out between NMR and the MMB happened when I was a tiny child so my dad paid for them not me. Thinking about it I suppose I got the farm free as well.
Mazk231
You are clearly confused about your Genus shares.
The fact is the MMB was set up and financed by dairy farmers and along the way Genus and NMR were formed. You were allocated your shares in Genus when the MMB was dissolved and any assets were distributed among existing shareholders.
They were not free. Happy to say I’ve still got my shares but unfortunately no more cows.
I am a dairy farmer and was given my shares for free years ago what can I say!

Cracking main article in 22nd Jan edition of I C - focussing on the quality available here. 3 page analysis ends as follows:
“ (the shares are) expensive, but Genus is a scarce stock market investment that is well placed. Long term investors could still do well buying the shares here.”
DYOR, but most encouraging.

I hope your newsagent didn't lose his shirt on Carillion.
GENUS is a company I like the look of, but some of the others on your Xmas shopping list are not looking too healthy.
Congratulations to all Genus shareholders still here in 2018 We appear to have one of the best stares on the stock exchange we have escaped the idiots that pile into 6p shares and end up losing access to there money for a couple of years when they over a period of a few weeks fall to 2p What to say,, I am putting a lot effort into BOOHOO as my kids shop there Putting a lot of effort into PURPLE BRICKS as I hate estate agents, and assume all others do the same Putting a lot of effort into CAKE as I love eating cake,,and they are in my local sainsburies I like following N BROWN ,, ASOS (getting a bit expensive) like the idea of SOS as it is cheap My son uses Games Workshop Group PLC products and I notice they have competition form a 60p share called Game Digital PLC Daughter asked for a guitar from Gear4Music and I notice there shares are up like a rocket I walked into town and noticed it very quiet on boxing day,, I notice M and S were closed,, and I look at there share price and am glad I do not own any I talked with the manager of Debenhams Plc in there Wrexham staore,, I recommend everyone does the same,, the manager cleared accounted for increased sales in her sector of the country,, and mentioned lots of adjustments happening, like foriegn exchange, more coffee shops. I will admit she had not noticed they sell car insurance on the website,,, I recomemend everyone reading when they next go into a debenhams ask for the manager and have a chat about what is happening and the shares My local newsagent who reads every paper every day likes Mirroe newspapers owner, carilion, Balfour Beatty plc, and for some reason Topps Tiles Plc I forgot to mention I like the dividend of Connect Group PLC, but I first came across these at 93p, they have room to expand as there competition is for sale,, the local newsagent owns these as well I follow UK oil and gas and have a large number sold that were bought at 1p ,, I do look for them to go back to that price If mr Trump is nationalist, he will surly stop Chinese takeovers which means shares bolsteed by foreign takeover speculation are actually worth 40% to 50% less,, so this year I will watch who bids for who and realise there is more at stake here in valuations Softbank is going to go up this year,, in 1999 they owned 10% of all IT internet companies,, this time they are buying elelctronics that connect to phone networks that they own,, keep an ey out for where they bid GENUS I firmly believe will be bought by a big chinese pig owning company as it is so small it will simple save the chinese paying there bill to genus,, genus wil be swallowed up and bid for,, it made the mistake of getting noticed and its price is actually very low for the service it provided No one has ever talked about the same service of guaranteed ofspring to humans,, and China I understand still limits families,,, so another reason to own Genus,,, that is human usage in China
