Yes I agree really silly price and mainly I think about inflation and lower sales, but am sure it will come back.
What are they about 4m + shares so far bought with another 5+ m to buy so should look much better when that is finished.
More volume yesterday, SP currently up whilst the market is over 1% down.
Is it shorts closing or someone building a stake at these ridiculous levels?
At least the 10m buyback monies are getting lots of shares!
Would take into account the current financial climate and expected rises
Have you seen the prices some of the retailers charge for the likes of pre packed sandwiches' ?
Would expect a fair sized down turn
So since the good trading Update a month ago the company has bought back 4m shares but the SP has dropped by over 20p. I'm not sure how this is returning value to shareholders!
Well I have bought a few today. GLA.
Couldn’t resist a few of these at 88p. More share buybacks to come I think, which will, eventually, help raise the sp back to well over a pound.
Also looks like dropping out of FTSE 250. Positives hard to come at the moment. GLA
No sector specific i think , Bakkavor also down around same %. Usual overreaction to fleece small shareholders. Bxllocks
Must be a major shareholder exiting their position
With the good weather recently, haven't they been doing great over the last few months?
I don't get it either. Not this bad during pandemic. Retailers, manufacturing getting hammered everywhere. Got to turn round at some point???
Anyone ideas on what is causing this fall, cannot understand it myself.
That's nonsense. I would say most companies that embark on share buybacks find that it doesn't help the sp in the long run, as their businesses are fundamentally weak , stagnant or suffer from bad management. That's why they turn to share buybacks, as they are out of ideas on how to improve the eps. ULVR is currently a classic case of that. Their share buyback scheme has done little to help the sp which is over 20% lower than it was 3 yrears ago.
Only company that starts buy backs and SP falls.
Who / When do we get a new CEO
Back below 100p again, surely should be quite a bit higher IMO. good for the buybacks though.
So is the SP being held down somehow so GNC can buy all those share back cheap?
I guess that would be a good idea if they can do it, but med term say 3-6 months this has to be £1.30+ doesn't it.
Still no word on restoring the dividend, despite the fact that most companies who froze/cut their's during the pandemic have now restored them. And why parrot other companies and start a share buyback scheme. If your business and eps is recoverng well as they claim then it makes the exercise pointless as well as a waste of resources.
I see they still have no CEO yet. Have any directors been piling in to take advantage of the recent 'very cheap' sp?...Nope! I think there is another quiet story going on here.
My theory is it rise 12% give or take over the last couple of weeks or so. People expecting another step up but as it didn’t sold old still up??
That’s 3 decent updates for 3 Qs, weather still good for sarnies on a day out, buy back too. I think we are going in the right direction (just not the share price today)
GLA
so much for my opinion of a steady rise, we get a rapid fall
Hold on
Rehearsal soon on this
Typical, decent results and the SP drops i give up.
Hope to see a steady, if slow, rise from here. Buy backs should underpin SP
Already looks too late.
Good morning Kelso69, yes all looks very good .
Maybe now is the time to buy more to bring down my av before the SP moves up too much. !!!!!
Very Impressive Results.
Buybacks starting a quarter earlier than what I was expecting.
SP should be strong today
