i could not agree more. entirely similar to evraz plc ( ftse 100 global company) however fxpo will be absorbed the the other will remain subjected to unprecedented ;illegal and corrupt sanctions by an unelected and unelectable regime.
not entirely dissimilar to a ****stani third world country. president putin will do a ceremonial walk down town kiev.
but still these sanctions will remain in force
My point, which I thought was self-evident, is that investors often make the mistake of thinking that downside is "limited" just because a stock has already dumped.
If anything, trading becomes even more risky as the lower we go down, those penny drops are a greater % thus paper losses bigger.
Badjob, if your exposure is 1 share at 44p then yes your value at risk is 44p, but it isn't is it?
I could have bought 100k at 100p then panic stop out at 50p. thus losing 50k. Then I go back in again at 40p with another 100k because I think we've bottomed, only to then lose another 50k as it falls to 20p...
Of course I realise that but at a share price of 44p the downside is limited to 44p whereas the upside is many multiples of that which is similar to the economics of an option where you risk losing everything for a large upside. That's the way I look at it because I'm of the view that my shares here could be wiped out. You can't value this as a normal investment at the moment.
Iron ore prices up almost 10% and this has gone down 13% - makes no sense.
Fog - I think anyone would recognise that. This is a well run company - headquartered in Switzerland and listed in London.... its operated extremely resiliently...
"shares are more like an option play now with relatively limited downside given the low share price"
You do realise that a stock can fall 99% and then another 99%?
I don't think I would read a lot into big investors reducing. There is a clearly a risk of total loss which for big investors may be unacceptable but the shares are more like an option play now with relatively limited downside given the low share price and a huge upside if things are resolved. It's a gamble and I doubt big investors have any more idea how it will play our than we do. Hopefully we will hear something soon.
I've increase my holding to £40k. That's my only holding and if it goes wrong, so be it. It's a good risk reward play.
Looks like Schroders are reducing as well. Not much good news here.
Difficult to know the underlying truth but the justice system in Ukraine has so far come out heavily against the company. Last year, the head of the supreme court was detained on corruption allegations and so it is difficult to know whether a fair hearing is even possible. Attacking the subsidiary of a listed and internationally held company for the sins of a major shareholder certainly seems contrary to the rule of any normal law. Can only hope that there's somehow a quick resolution but not adding to my holding here.
Sp is stabilizing around the 45p range, should do well when results are released, a jump up to 60p cant be ruled out on positive news,.
Huge Dividends to Come once all settled,, don't want to be out from here on ridiculous prices as of today,, Strong Buy and Hold for the Long Term

Good News about to Come Out,, Don't want to be on the Sidelines,, Dividends alone will be passive income,,
I could talk demographics all week Pokerchips/ Troajan. Putin is one of the few leaders in the world that actually realises the severity of the situation. Russia is essentially screwed and going to see a massive fall in population going forward. By 2050 China will have 500 million people over the age to 60 and a population falling by 15 million a year. On top of that they want to invade Taiwan. Good luck with that. The western world can offset population decline with immigration. Russia attracts immigrants from the Stans but if he starts sending them or their children to war they're not likely to keep coming. Then his smartest and richest have left, or a leaving the country. What a strategist.

Current SP is the steal of the century. If it goes lower (it probably will) – I will buy even more. While this stock feels like treading through a minefield, the possible rewards in the future are absolutely, positively enormous. Dividends alone could provide a salary. The war needs to end soon. This November will be very interesting with the US elections. Anything can happen...
Putin is never going to give up access to the Black Sea and strategic positioning of Crimea to NATO and the EU ...
Crimea almost has to become completely neutral territory from a strategic military aspect ad ports from a trading point of view .
" but the demographic situation in Russia is also desperate. This is something that plays on Putin's mind.2
he already said he wants women to have 8 kids and do their duty
Hungary gives cash incentives for women to have 4 kids
I guess turning Ukrainian kids in to Russian kids using propaganda adds to any potential future population !!!
maybe we will all import Japanese robots and use AI instead !!
True Silverspoon's, but the demographic situation in Russia is also desperate. This is something that plays on Putin's mind. He keeps saying its Russian women's duty to have large families etc. Id go as far as saying this was a factor in him wanting to take over Ukraine in the first place. Increase his population by absorbing Ukraine. More people more power.

Silverspoons
when you check world population declines
you'll find russia's.....is at or near the bottom,of the league table.
alcaholics wise, its at the top of the league table
so that utuber blogger, was cherry picking.(he should have added, russia,in that header)
@alex1978uk
Ukraine may not like a ceasefire on Russian terms, but it may have no option, the demographic situation is desperate https://youtu.be/MLcZ8OKI-r4
America sees war as a useful way to invest in technological and engineering advancements that they can then use elsewhere within the economy ..and if they can get NATO to help pay for the investment, all the better
Armstrong going to the moon was more about creating the tech, rockets engines etc , from 300+ companies used etc that then paved the way for Microsoft and engine power use elsewhere etc etc out of those companies ...
war is R&D which is why they ask for so much money and create such a strong sense of tension and aggression
Ukraine war could have been avoided and any peace talks will be the same as the talks before the war started
Hoping to get in lower than this....
Its in the Eastern part of Ukraine. No incidents that I have been aware of. The legal claims are being strongly rebutted and I think there is a strong chance that we'll see positive developments on this front.
