Multiply those Haleon toothpaste numbers by 10. 2.5 bill global sales. So marketing spend is huge even if only a third of revenues.
Sorry, can’t count. Make that 2.5 billion from toothpaste and more like a billion on marketing! Holy cow. Even if they only spent a third on ads it’s still a huge number.
and finally, the best advert for erectile dysfunction remedy that i have ever seen was on the little flyover leaving melbourne airport just before joining the freeway. giant billboard promising ‘stronga, longa, donga’. only in oz. i nearly ****ed myself in the taxi.
Ok, so global revenue is £10.5 billion in 2022. 16% profit I think. Just over quarter is oral health for example. So let’s say £250 million income from Sendodyne! Take off profit and we have costs of 200 million. Around half is marketing / promotion and rest is production and distribution costs. So c£100m globally on toothpaste ads.
I dearly hope that they put 10-20 behind year one in US. US market is perfect for regionally testing to get their mix right. I would pilot in half a dozen states. Competition mix is same everywhere.
If we go with 7k in month from Amazon (anyone see it higher?) 100 a day in Boots on line and (total guess) double that in stores we get to c16k boxes. Call it 20k for other outlets. Or double it. Let’s say 50k in a month. I have no idea what ratio of online to stores to use.
£5 per pack to us. Boots get £10. Coopers get £10.
So I’m getting only £250k revenue to us in a busy month. Less for this campaign. 500 to Coopers won’t pay for the ad spend.
The big BUT with this product is that if it works for an individual you don’t ever need to advertise to them again. Ever. Not like beer, or cereal or washing powder.
Assuming it works, the ad challenge is all about reach .. which you will never get from a cheap and low ratings TV. But they know that and are testing. Haleon will have some of the best mass reach marketing teams in US (in house). Coopers ? Don’t know but there are a lot of agencies involved with that campaign. I will check out the U.K. team. Haleon will also get best rates going for Tv and digital .., I will see if I can find their US ad spend across all brands.
So, we now know the minimum spend from the entry requirements for the Citeline marketing award. Text below…
This Award is designed for big-budget OTC brands which have been supported by a total marketing spend – both above-the-line and below-the – line – exceeding £0.5 million between August 2022 – August 2023. Your entry can be for the umbrella OTC brand or for a product/sub – brand of the umbrella OTC brand.
So Amazon is now up to 3k+ in last month. Not up to 7k at launch but above the 1k it got to a few months back.
Why? Advertising. No silver bullet here. If you use Google Trends and put in Eroxon as a search and viagra to compare, amazingly Eroxon punches above in summer launch. Recent peak good too.
Clearly Coopers are testing the best ATL/digital marketing strategy in U.K. and I guess a more digital approach in Belgium. Keeping their powder dry in big markets of France and Germany. It’s normal for a European launch. I don’t know what they have spent in U.K. but I can hazard a guess if I can find the TV stations they are on
If someone can explain how I post a picture I will add the Google Trends for U.K. Eroxon v Viagra. Interesting
Boom Boom
Pad- yor last post on FUM was in July hope you didn’t buy at 55p & sell at 32p! Lucky your not too attached to that 23p loss 😂
Somebody like me, who has no emotional attachment to this stock, and sees better value elsewhere.
Who the hell would sell at 32p when it’s been at 44p, fair enough sell at 44p but 32p? Hoping Roy brings some stability to the SP & soon!
my problem with trading this thing is that i keep thinking it could fall on it's **** at any point and not get up.
May be worth going in noe looks like it has turned dyo research
You need to sell off and re buy lower on this share.
It is on an upward trend now but the MMs will want to get your shares at a lower price to be able to sell higher.
They enjoy it even more if they can get you to buy high 44p in this case and panic and sell out at 33p only for them to put up the price and get you to re buy at 44p on the retrace up.YOU HAVE TO PLAY TEIR GAME TO WIN BUY LOW SELL HIGH AND THEM REBUY LOW
Pop goes the BOOOOOMMMM
After all the excitement and all the chatter and the RNS and the conspiracy theories we find ourselves with the SP a little lower than it started the week. Patience is called for. Perhaps when we have the next trading update with an improved sales performance an uptick in the SP will be sustained.
Ah ha ha ha, this share is a wild one alright, glad I took my money out a while ago. Playing with house money is of course nice, but not with this one I'm afraid. This price action would give you a heart attack, and if anyone out there has been trading this (I know someone is, lol) successfully, then full respect to you, you probably know more than most. Personally I think I'll hang about for a bit more news, this is getting even more volatile and they'll have to print at some stage I guess.
Hope you get your entry point . I’ll stay put for now thanks -it will come back up
I'm looking to see 25p revisited for my entry. Been a good churn of shares off recent news and expect a drift back now.
Toli is very similar to the word troll
As predicted a steady drop I reckon 28p is a good re entry point
We can all see the shorters coming out the woodwork, but who do they think they are trying to sway on here, most of us have been & seen it before! Let them convince themselves into selling but ain’t convincing me 😂. Hold tight LTH
Your short is showing marc, have a quick looked your selfs.
Did anyone looked at the boots website for price and reviews on the product?
Or did anyone ever tried themselfs?
Looks expensive and with poor reviews.....would you buy it? Probably not which means sales can't be great!
Some one shouted fire and the sheep are running for the exit -works every time ffs.
I agree with both Bucolic, Martinelwick and The Italian regarding trading .
Yes, it makes sense but at present there is a degree of risk with things finely balance and I am not sufficiently brave to risk it at this stage of the game.
IMHO the Chinese have long left the scene and it is far more likely to be a U.K. fund manager disenchanted with the AIM market , cutting losses & departing the AIM scene.
If that is the case then he may well be throwing this Bonny baby out with the bath water !
Good luck all fellow long term FUMSTERS.
ARTURO.
