The consumer electronics business is brutal. NREs are large and margins small. Large design wins required to be viable
done much at all since last year. Very little news output despite taking on a couple of NEO and like you say scribes they are not backing the company. For a company with such great products and technology it always amazes me that they cannot earn more money?

what a mess and that's not just the tory party -- FST directors are you buying or are we going down the drain. No confidence in your company or what?
A truly "penny share" on the way --- where has it all gone wrong?
this time last year we were heading for £2-00 -its xmas big sales of our products and we are going backwards - why
who has sold out?
gadgets beig offered seem to include - smart speakers and Google and Apple products. Does anyone know if Frontier's technology is also incorporated into products such as voice controlled TVs of which there seem to be a growing number around now.

after the fall yesterday. Got a tad concerned there - looks like the IoT might start to take more of a role as the company moves forward. I believe from talking to someone in a slightly different electronics industry that quite a lot of money can be earned via software etc too. So, we might see some interesting developments in the year ahead.

Nice one let's hope for some profit soon .

London, 8 October 2018:
Frontier Smart Technologies, a pioneer in technologies for Digital Audio, announces the launch of its 3rd generation AutoDAB software for automotive aftermarket DAB digital radios.
This new software will enable brands and manufacturers to design robust innovative automotive products in advance of the switch-off of FM services in Switzerland which is expected to begin in 2020/21.
AutoDAB 3.0 is a major upgrade to Frontier’s established AutoDAB software platform, which provides software for automotive digital radio modules. AutoDAB has been deployed by leading brands, such as Sony and Pure, for several years.
The new version of AutoDAB retains the key features of the previous generation of the platform, including DAB/DAB service following, recommendations for DAB/FM service following and multiple pre-set options.
AutoDAB 3.0 introduces several features which will enhance end-product functionality and reduce unit costs. It also comes with tools to help manufacturers accelerate their time to market.
The major new features include:
superior service-following based on improved algorithms to detect signal degradation combined with new autonomous service following functionality
enhanced announcements and warnings to comply with the latest DAB standards
simple profile Slideshow for streaming images to the host processor
AutoDAB 3.0 is designed to work with Frontier’s 4th generation digital radio chip, Kino 4, which provides a single, integrated chip solution for DAB processing and RF reception. For manufacturers, the benefits of the single chip solution are smaller size, easier integration and lower bill of materials.
AutoDAB 3.0 also comes with tools to help manufacturers in the design and testing of new automotive aftermarket products – to help accelerate time-to-market.
Lead customers are currently designing AutoDAB 3.0 into new products, which are expected to reach retail markets in mid-2019.
Prem Rajalingham, Chief Commercial Officer, Frontier Smart Technologies, said:
“With AutoDAB 3.0 we are offering customers a significantly enhanced automotive aftermarket software solution. This release will enable manufacturers to develop new products in time for the switch-off of FM in Switzerland. With important new features and exploiting the benefits of an integrated single chip solution, we believe this is a major step forward for manufacturers of automotive aftermarket DAB radios and adapters.”

BBC report Amazon make Alexa controlled microwave
If it is based on Share talks charting then I am surprised, especially as last RNS was not great
Quite some perkiness in the sp today....news ahead?
FST don't seem very active with regards to investors and do not seem to appreciate how news flow reduces volatility. The twitterati and BB don't see it as a popular share. However, this can be positive if you are aware. The share is oversold based on bad news (summer RNSs). However, although DAB sales have tailed off they will not disappear and there are lots of products in emerging areas. Sound bars still a steady market My concern is why would anyone buy an alternative brand smart speak when echo/home speakers are so cheap (although people still buy low end tat electronic stuff to save a few quid). If they can get into providers that offer more (smart speaker integrated with other smarts) and they get some decent volumes they could do very well. The results next week are priced in, let's see if there are glimmers of good news
Website so that instead of items listed under news they have 3 new items
1. Collaborating with NXP.
2. Alexa and Voice service.
3. Multi Eco-system Voice Control.
There are a couple of things that I don't quite understand though. Firstly Frontier can and do work with some huge companies with products that sell into mass markets - the bit I don't understand is how these product sales don't seem to be turning into lots of profits for Frontier. Secondly although I see these items on the Website I don't appear to be seeing the management giving lots of interviews re the progress being made in various areas and it seems hard to undersatnd why they don't do this. If it was a company in another sphere then they would be wanting to get their message out - why i it not the case with Frontier. They've hired a number of specialists as Non execs recently - how are they contributing to the company and why are the company so reserved about the good things they are doing? Very odd - and it doesn't appear to be helping ths sp. I've said it a few times - some more deals wouldn't go amiss either.

will start to close in run up to results this month. Plus new interoperability like this can't hurt..

Why aren't the management buying If this is a bargain?
it gets bought at 20% premium else more money needed and a slow death spiral to zero.
Basket case.
Here here well said .I was sitting on a nice profit at 208 now a big Loss 5 f****n yrs I been here and now back to were I started can't wait anthor 5 yrs .we're the **** is the directors buys at this low price .
I'm kicking myself for not selling these when they were around 1.90. I thought the re**** would be poor, but I was hoping to get to around 2.50 as that was around my average after the consolidation years ago. That's looking highly unlikely now though, if ever. What a shower of shiiiiite this company and its directors have been!! Anyone calling a bottom anywhere? Looks like the blooming Mariana trench!!
medical gone, digital and smart radio - not performing-- IOT anything there -- doesnt seem like it --- someone give me a positive pse
