Nice one mate. read what you wrote on fogl early on. Read the report after that then looked at the company website that you mentioned, everything added up to this share got in just before the last minute spike. cheers!! GLA
beers all round mate if its anywhere near that!!
lets hope we are in early, ill treat you to a beer if bulfords targets are met by half what he suggests!
like you got in early on a guess really that this would spike. Having read it all the only company i could find that ticked the boxes was this one. Sharp rise post 3.50 points to that as well. Long weekend looking now i think before a nervous monday opening!
Defo this company in Bulfords tip have alook at the company web site it's all on there! Strong finish today all points to it being the tip I think? Everyone keeps going on about Infrastructure with the oil strike so this has to be a good Co to get in on now?? More research this weekend!! GLA
it was a sales script, give out a few clues towards this share but nothing certain, heres the link, please let me know your thoughts, pat attn to the blue box article on the right http://www.fsponline-recommends.co.uk/page.aspx?u=tbf0510oil&tc=ETBFL501&PromotionID=2147066937&u=31334851&g=0&r=Milo&s=105100&o=103351&l=117061&

ive jumped in, wonder if this is bulfords tip! 552@448. am i nuts or the sharpest tool in the box??
Mr moor thinks those rockhoppers will soon have the sustinance they need yet he has been saying so for many harvest moons, me? I think harvest time is close at hand. These tomatos are green at the moment and to discount the guys with the greenhouses as a bonus, well I sit with fingers still crossed
Now you are making me very homesick! Couldn't get home to Sheffield because of blocked up airports this Christmas. Let's hope all this snow is good for the south altantic cruising business and falkland visitors go up! My rgds l
Sorry mate I leave squid to sperm whales and funny foreigners. I heard on a wildlife prog. from the Falklands that Rockhopper penguins were going short of fish at tha moment. Perhaps its global warming or ElNino or whatever. I reckon the falklands will be ripe for a bloody big tomato greenhouse especially if theres almost free gas on tap in the near future. A huge reason for CHP plants of any description.
Hi lewarnie, Sorry to have left my post for so long. It is good to see the sp creeping upwards, almost in parallel with the drilling ship aproaching. Money week analysis said today that the oil price is going to exceed the last peek, so I reckon that's something to look forward to. In the meantime, encourage everyone to eat more squid! That's our bread & butter dividends! Good luck Mr Solomon in your retirement! I always have a hidden glow of confidence in fkl. I've had the shares for donkey's years. They are a very steady, slow-but-sure company. The oil is a bonus.
We need some discussion on this board, its far to quiet. What's your positions on this stock? I'm long term hold. Thoughts please on the posible billions of barrels of untapped oil?
50 million pounds worth of the fogl share issue placing (all of the issue) snapped up on same day. Sounds like business in the Land of the Hawks is going to be busy.
Speculation on a move of this kind showed us 425ps 13 months ago, now it is here. I do think I have taken an early plunge and polotics is definately going to play a part at some point. I intend to hold and cross my fingers on this one as production projections are far too high to ignore. Yes the spin off boards predictions are a little silly but I don't see any real downside to this (long term) unless a ferry sinks. What say you Smogzilla?
Desire Petroleum (ticker: DES) has announced it has exchanged a letter of intent with Diamond Offshore Drilling (UK) Ltd. This is to use Diamond’s Ocean Guardian drilling unit to undertake a four well minimum drilling campaign in the North Falkland Basin. “The Ocean Guardian is currently in the North Sea and following a programme of shipyard work will mobilise in November 2009. Projected arrival in Falkland waters is early February 2010. Desire has options to drill a further four wells for itself and or its partners. Further details will be announced after contract completion which is subject to various approvals.” FREE Daily investment email Sign up to recieve The Right Side here... Privacy Policy That news has caused a surge in the share prices of all the small oil explorers active in the Falklands area. Desire (DES) is up 34%, Falkland Oil & Gas (FOGL) 16%, Falkland Island Holdings (FKL) +19% and Rockhopper Exploration (RKH) +36%. Of course, there’s a lot to do yet. But this is a major development in the Falklands oil story. It’s a story that isn’t that new. These huge oil fields were first discovered in the mid 1970s by American geologists
Nice to see you here WAL. As you know there is more to FKL than meets the eye. DES and RKH are moving in on the oil we all know is in the Northern Basin and when the rig starts to produce they hold a 15% share in FOGL, they are recipricants of any finds in the area which with current developments makes them a good long term holding. The next move should come when we know who the JV partner is with RKH, be it SHELL, BP, EXXON or BG Group, it's all good news. Quiet on here lately just glad I'm not talking to myself any more. GL wal.
Anyone want to start this board up again? Recent developments from DES,RCK have rattled my cage. North has woken up at last and drilling can't be to far off. opinions from the long termers on where this could take us would be very welcome, on top of my homework. Cheers.
Looks like the price is settling a little now. What do you people think it could top over the next 12 months as a friend has tipped me on this one and i am still doing my research but if i had bought 2 days ago when he suggested.... hmmm. Think I will hold off for a little while yet. all the right noises been made by the press though.
Now up over 8% today, making a rise of 33% in the last 4 weeks.
still rising, up 5% today alone. Obviously on the back of DES
share price still rising. Glad I got in at 285
fkl six-well drilling program advanced considerably on monday when desire petroleum annouced that it had accepted the terms of an offer to farm in to three of the companys 18 exploration prospects in the north falkland basin.
anyone have any info on why the SP has shot up so much over the last 4 weeks?
