so guys with hopefully a buyer in place - whats the tops we can expect on the so
Hi Martin, I only checked France a couple of days ago, found that page, and posted here. To me it looks like an archive page they posted a few years ago (before evesleep.fr went live) and are just re-using it at it's free and it keeps heir options open I guess.
Pigeon, you've gone from a foreign buyer swooping, to Simba T/O, just this morning.. Either way, buyer go through the FSP and, unless you're well connected and indiscreet, would you post genuine info here or just buy lots of eve shares on the quiet if that were true?
Takeover?Today 08:53
Overseas buyer about to strike taking advantage of weak pound.
Strong rumours a rival to eve possibly simba may be the buyer makes sense
When you try to access the French side it looks like a site about to launch (that's what the message on top says anyway), so maybe a UI restructuring of sorts? Was this what was there last week D-G?
French message: Nos petits génies de la tech sont en train de faire quelques petits ajustements sur le site (enfin, pas si petits que ça). On vous donne rendez-vous d’ici quelques jours pour découvrir tout ça.
Translation: Our little tech genius are making a few small adjustments to the site (actually, not so small after all). We ask you to come back in a few days to discover all of it
Strong rumours a rival to eve possibly simba may be the buyer makes sense
.... and it looks like the end of a direct market with France ( and Belgium)!
Hi dontgive, if the BOD doubled their salaries today, or halved them, the only difference it would make to us is the number of trading days remaining (unless there's a takeover). I guess they do have an interest in keeping the trading going so that staff do get paid for longer but it does coincide with shareholders wish to keep trading too in the hope of FSP.
I was looking at these headlines last night https://www.thefurnishingreport.com
Simba did well LAST year (no word on this year), others in trouble and more or less all since Ukraine invasion.
As for a foreign buyer swooping; no need to 'swoop' under an FSP. Just have to talk to finnCap. I'm sure they'll answer the phone, even this late.
It’s interesting, I can still sell my holding and the offer price has gone up +10% in the last 30 minutes, despite only a few small buys.
Perhaps they just having a fire sale so to have as much cash as possible for bod salaries until there is nothing of shareholders cash left!
Maybe they know that it's such a good sale they don't need to publicise it (everything will go without publicity) and avoid the negatives you identify.
I must admit that if I were buying I'd only use a payment method now that I could get a refund on if the mattress didn't turn up..
The sp is still slightly above where I sold a couple of weeks ago so there must be some feeling that all's not lost.
Overseas buyer about to strike taking advantage of weak pound. Chronic undervaluation now
I will persist then:
How can I have a go at management when I don't know the conditions, budgets and circumstances they have been dealing with? If they are so desperately inept, why did you buy into EVE in the first place. (Or was it they were very good then, but now have become useless?)
Yes I have made two lots of 40% gains recently on this stock (although gave some back when tried to get a bit more out).
So are you going to criticise m for making money in a falling stock?
Buying a mattress company is not going to get you the Nobel peace prize for humanity!!! ha ha (that was funny).
Tell me: What merit is there in being a long term holder in itself? (as opposed to a short term holder). And (and please answer this: What constitutes long term?, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years? When does short become long?
Time and time again you post niave statements displaying an alarming lack of understanding of both the market and business generally.
And lastly ...Look at the "market": they pretty much got it right on this stock, and they usually do, not always, but mostly.
If the SP falls and you think it should go up, what do you know that the market does not?
And take emotion out of the equation. What you feel has no bearing about the outcome. As you have constantly proved here.
Again an attack on me Wyndrum. Can’t help but think you are just sitting on the sidelines hoping to possibly buy if conditions look favourable to make a quick buck with EVE - your not a long term holder who had believed in business for the good of all humanity by assisting many to have a better sleep. It’s CC, TP and the management who have messed up the chances here by bad financial management and not having the appropriate costs on all products with corresponding staff levels and not listening to customer concerns etc.
So go on have a go at managemet.
Because DGU, it won't make any difference.
I have said this before. PI's don't have any influence on the companies they buy into.
You are (as you have found out) completely at their behest on their commercial decisions. We are not consulted (nor should we be). People buy shares in a company because they think the SP will rise.
When it does the opposite then it should immediately make the PI look very closely at every aspect of the stock.
Have trading conditions changed? Have there been key Board Changes? Has there been an increase in spending? Is there new competition? Has there been a change in the product line up. Are costs increasing? Does what the BoD say reflect reality or is it BS?
These are just a few things a PI should be asking themselves pretty regularly on every stock they own.
And no PI should invest more than they can comfortably lose and should have a diverse portfolio in case something doers go wrong due to an unforseen event. (And this was not unforseen.)
Risk should be taken into account too of course.
And at the begining before purchase, a time scale for the PI's expected return should have been pencilled in along with expected returns. (if you don't have a clue how much you might make by when then you really should not be doing this.)
Anyway, if you still won't accept your own failings in this exercise you are unlikely to learn much from it.
Wyndrum - Why not throw some criticism at EVE management instead of me?
If they are selling all their products at less than cost - not a lot of sense in that? But sure it’s only shareholders savings they are spending - the management are still taking their salaries ( for as long as possible I guess).
The 50% off sale is doing well. Many lines are selling out and that's cash in the bank. The new buyer might not want the existing stock so if they sell off what they can now, the new buyer puts in their own lines and brands and carries on with a make over of products and designs.
Makes perfect sense.
GLA
Suspension this week you would think
DGU: "How utterly convenient for management the FSP is - as the rules suggest they don’t need to tell us anything during this process and I’m guessing that includes right up to the company going bankrupt!
Absolutely disgraceful management by CC, TP and Co."
And what exactly do you want them to say?
"We have 2 weeks trading left and no offers yet" ?
SP collapses to almost zero... panic selling and then the next day a bidder turns up? SP rockets. What would you think about the BoD.
You need to get over this and dare I say it... Grow up and learn from this experience not so much financially, but if you are cut our to run your own portfolio.
I know this is harsh and you seem to be decent person, but if this does go tits up then this BB will cease to be and the various posters will drift off and mistakes might be repeated without some hard truths being aired.
.... And even if there is to be some very very very last second deal - management have made it virtually impossible for any longer term shareholders who invested here to hold on. How utterly convenient for management the FSP is - as the rules suggest they don’t need to tell us anything during this process and I’m guessing that includes right up to the company going bankrupt!
Absolutely disgraceful management by CC, TP and Co.
Comment on LinkedIn from Cheryl Calverley 5 days ago… “What a ride it's been. Looking forward to celebrating the last hurrah of your incredible work next week in gladrags and high heels!“
— A very insensitive post as some shareholders look like they will lose all or a large part of their hard earned savings when they invested here and believed everything CC & TP put out as presentations to shareholders.
I haven't read the linked in page, just what was reproduced here. This is from her Linkedin intro:
'Effie UK council member, helping lead, inspire and champion marketing effectiveness globally'
She's trying to help Creature; look positive for them – 'championing' their work from a while ago. Clearly it's gone down badly with some here but it's what she's been like all along. She's actually being very 'normal' despite the eve company woes. Maybe that has to be her policy so as not to give clues on the FSP.
D-G, it was a post to Eve Sleeps Brand Director, not Creature.
'celebrating the last hurrah of your (Creature's) incredible work'
Not celebrating CC's work nor eve's work.
This is a public company not a garden shed operation.
D-G, whether the advert was award winning or not, CC should not be ‘celebrating’ unless she’s wrapped up a deal to save the business, full stop.
