Wardell Armstrong has a long track record of assisting companies throughout the world with their mining projects whether it be as technical advice or as project audits for investment decisions. We provide a broad range of in-house mining services including open pit and underground optimisation studies, mine design, geotechnical and hydrogeological aspects, ore reserves, scheduling, ventilation, equipment, maintenance, labour and infrastructure, ore and waste management, as well as financial appraisal.
We have a highly experienced team of engineers able to address the needs of the modern mining industry gained through years of working around the globe. Particular expertise has been acquired in Africa, Europe, Central Asia, Russia, Southeast Asia and South America and with a strong focus on precious and base metals, although more recently, we have been at the forefront of some of the strategic metals driving the EV revolution, particularly lithium.
We have excellent facilities at our main offices and process testwork facilities and laboratories in Cornwall, UK, and use the latest software to help model and evaluate increasingly complex and sensitive projects.
A mineral resource estimate carried out to international best practice is vital for evaluating a deposit with confidence, for providing you, your stakeholders and financiers with a sound understanding of the potential project value, and for planning the development of a mine.
Wardell Armstrong’s resource geologists have extensive experience of evaluating mineral resources. Drawing on knowledge gained from exploration projects, development projects and operating mine sites around the world, we develop or audit geological models and resource estimations for all major commodities and deposit types for inclusion in all levels of study – from Competent Persons Reports through to Scoping and Feasibility Studies.
Using cutting edge resource modelling and geostatistical software and techniques, (principally Datamine and Micromine) we can produce auditable mineral resource models and resource estimates in the format most suitable for your project. We follow the principles of competency, transparency and materiality for publication in the various levels of technical studies and for public domain documents in line with the reporting requirements of regulatory bodies. Our extensive experience includes preparing mineral resource estimates for Competent Persons’ Reports, Mineral Experts’ Reports, NI43-101 technical reports and contributions to annual reports for listed companies.
As a fully-fledged British international mining consultancy, Wardell Armstrong was originally founded on UK coal mining more than 180 years ago, but now operates in more than 90 countries from offices based in the UK, Russia and Kazakhstan.
Mincho
If your local is there any chance that you could know a friend of a friend who works there and could tell you something
Not too pour any water on the fireworks Les, but there does seem to be a bit of a revolution down in the West in terms of rare earth minerals mining (Lithium etc..). I live near the Cornish mining community and there is definitely a buzz around the potential reopening of mines in St. Day and around. Maybe Wardell are gearing up for those too?
Hey....we've all done it......
Ha Aston :)
Did not mean to say it twice but did not post the 1st time but never mind it all increases the anticipation
So true mate, you had to say it twice...thumbs up emoji......
If this one paragraph does not explain what they are doing for us then nothing will
More recently we have developed our capability and are at the forefront of the strategic metals revolution driven by the battery metals and electric vehicle industries demand for lithium, graphite, cobalt, nickel, tin, manganese and rare earth metals.

Our Mineral Processing Laboratory and Office Expand to Accommodate Demand for Services
To accommodate the increased demand for our mineral processing and metallurgical testing services, we have expanded our office and laboratory space at Wheal Jane Earth Science Park near Truro, Cornwall.
The new space now accommodates over 30 specialist staff including, Engineers, Chemists, Metallurgists, Technicians and Support Staff who all provide services to a global client base.
Why would they open a larger facility if they were not expecting much more testing to JORC and CIM codes, this is just getting bigger and more ducks lining up.
A lot of the facts are out there it takes a bit of searching
