Bacefook,
Agree with a lot of what you say here BUT it's not just Doris is it?
Good old Mr Blair and his wife haven't done to bad out of the system have they? Oh and take a look at the Kinnocks.
I live in Spain and have been told by Halifax Sharedealing this week that as of 10 Jan I can no longer put funds into my shares account, assume it’s due to a change in regulations. I guess that’s foreign investment in the uk finance stopping unless it’s just Halifax.
Covgaz. I love my country, I love the mountains in Wales and Scotland, the bucolic beauty of the west, the coastline of cornwall. I love the generosity of most of the people I meet, I love the British sense of humour, I love that we, as a country had the courage to stand and fight the nazis. I love the creative side of the Brit’s, our music and our art. I love the architecture and amazing cities of this country.
What I hate about this country is the underlying racism that allows the death of Stephen Lawrence to happen. The horror that is a 12 year old girl being stabbed to death, a political system that is based on over promising and under delivering. I hate that we are continuously lied to by the likes of Doris and his ilk for their own political gain and I hate jingoism and false patriotism (both poured from the same pot).
Are you saying that any criticism of this county is just ‘Brit Bashing’… really? Seriously, that, my friend, sounds like the basis for a good dictatorship.
Covgaz
I am not sticking no boot just illustrating how I see this country unfortunately and its chain of thought from many of its people.
Anyways as been said it's a topic we wouldn't agree on so back to EUA and hopefully this sale news lands pronto for us to be able to get on with life.
We could debate this topic all night, but fact is we all see things from different perspectives and i respect everyones view.
Have a good weekend.
Brexit is and always will be a load of ****e ! Not wanted or voted for by me. Saying stuff about war and Germans ffs move on its nearly 2022 and folks still spiytung stuff like this wth..
UK thinks is up its own ass.. gone are the days when we made everything and self sufficient etc.. UK sold everything off and tbh is a country that is more interested in making the rich richer rather than putting money back into the country for the good of its people..
UK wants its cake and and to eat it..mmm
If it wasn't for the financial sector powerhouse UK be fooked.
The UK puts no emphasis on the good of its people
It's all about status and what you have .
For the 5th richest economy we should be ashamed we have to raise money for lifeboats, emergency helicopters etc etc... its sll about work work work money money money not valuing time and people connections near enough Imo.. BRITAIN was Great years ago but not now..
The whole country wants to separate from each other so united we ain't .
Obviously I am not a fan of Brex**** lol
Hey ho it is what it is..
nixan i,m not talking of the past friend , it's a new dawn for the whole world.
My main point is why do the Brits bash Britain?
Happy weekend fella
Sorry covgaz,I am british and happy to be a brit,
But i think you maybe living in the past, I Get what you mean about the french but times have changed.I cant see us returning to the days you talk of,in some ways i am glad .I would rather move on and improve the planet and those who live on it than wish for the past.
If you folk think the benefits of brexit would be seen within 1 year you are all fools. It 's pretty obvious the French had never respected the English ...ever ...could be because we had to rescue them from the Germans after they surrendered.
Now they don't need to surrender , they have the Germans on board this time , and the rest of the European dream , waiting to collapse at some point in the distant future.
GB has done exactly what many EU countries would like to do but they don't have the gonads.
One day , it could be 25 years , GB will reap the rewards of its decision , probably at the same tine the European dream is finally collapsing.
Why do Brits knock Britain and the British , the French would never do that to France or the French.
Just the Brits , and lots of the worldwide population are in rubber dinghies trying to share our lifestyle and values.
Go figure if you doubt your very own country.
The law around the whole world is built upon British principles and British law , that is why we are the capital of the finance sector.
We are trusted.
End of.
Don't think you can blame the existence of the French on Brexit. They've been generally aloof/ brit-hating/ surrendering to Germany for ages.
Remember Macron is in an election year so has to be seen to being ‘tough’ with the UK Government.
bad news for you. When you left the EU you didn't think that co-operation had it's benefits. Before Brexit all EU members had the right to move migrants to their first country of entry to the EU. You don't seem to realise that the UK walked out of that right (being so smart I'm sure Brexit voters knew that!)
https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/what-is-the-dublin-iii-regulation-will-it-be-affected-by-brexit/
Fallout of voting Brexit. No complaints if you voted leave
For something completely different.
For many reasons I'm disliking Macron more than Kim Jong-un at the moment.
Short memories.
Maybe our politicians should shame Macron more by reminding him of the sacrifices the UK made during WW1 and WW2.
I want to throw my tv out of the window every time he's on. Luckily for me, it won't fit through the gap when opened.
Enjoy your weekend folks.
