Boris it tosh and his days are numbered. He was the best of a bad bunch in the right party.
I agree enough is enough. We can’t keep being in innocence prisoners.
Absolutely Bumble. Near and far. Those in free countries are certainly not lying down and just taking it any more. Europe is increasingly saying enough is enough.
Some of the footage from Australia is harrowing to say the least. Police actively assaulting peaceful protesters. I have family members there who can't believe the brutality being shown. Aussies are a laid back lot in general and this has really fired up their imagination. World going bonkers.
One step away from a Mad Max apocalyptic landscape of lawless desolation and everyone simply looking out for themselves. (not quite, but you get my drift).
English fish NOT french lol.
Good post Spotify.
BoB, it’s on here because it’s the weekend and it’s an interesting conversation to those involved. It’s more civilized than a fair few conversations on here Tbf. If you’re not interested then there’s plenty more fish in the sea, back to business on Monday morning!
Keep safe!
Why on earth is this thread on the EUA bb?
Abusing the bb IMO OP your binned.
Spotify,
It's not just a UK problem is it though?
Look at a lot of Europe, Germany, rioting in the Netherlands. And even further afield with curfews in Australia etc.
It's a worldwide issue.
Spotty - Excellent post.
You’re still a twaaaat btw
When Boris romped home it was because Britain were faced with an alternative of Corbyn, McDonnell, Butler and Abbott. Brexit aside, the traditional Labour voters saw nothing in their brand of far left Socialism that they recognised as being close to their own values, or those of Britain. McDonnell by his own admission held pro Communist views. The New World Order has been.spoken about in both domestic and foreign Political address, speeches, forums for decades. It's not a new thing.
If you think that we are divided as a nation, just look at America at the moment.
The rival media will make Republicans out as ****** fascists and the Dems as bona fide Commies. Very little middle / central ground. Biden seems clueless and China seems to benefit from everything he does. His most recent approval rating was at 28% and Kamala Harris at even less than that. Cant see America coming out of their financial crisis anytime soon either. As for the UK we seem to be teetering on the edge of nowhere atm. If the UK Govt tried to implement further lockdowns or Covid strategies that impinge on peoples freedoms, I can see them just being ignored.
The last two years has pushed people too far (though deemed necessary) and the mistrust angle may prove too hard to overcome next time round.
Actually Boris is on TV right now and he's making good sense and without a mention of Peppa pig so he's upped his game then. No bumbling.
Evan - you've got your head in the clouds.
Check the latest Yougov polls to see how Boris is doing.
I read the Guardian?? Yeah right. And the BBC? What a pile of s@#e.
I bet you voted for Brexit?
Give the French the hump and they'll cancel the border agreement whereby our Customs are on French and vice versa.
That'll cause even more problems.
The opposition are spineless and play to the media not understanding that the public despise the media.
I think you’re probably right at the moment but things can change very quickly in politics. Can’t see Boris making it to the next election on current form and I can’t see Stamer making it either. Could get interesting…
Thats the point, he is rubbish and still wins, the british won't vote labour or Liberal any more.
Tbf Evan, he only got a massive majority because the opposition were absolutely rubbish.
Maggie, Major, Blair and Brown all stood for something of value, even if you disagreed with it. I don’t know what this lot stand for and I don’t think they do.
I don’t disagree. Having traveled the world for work you get better perspective. We need to drop the Great and be Britain abs rebuild the great part. But so much to sort here it’s mostly tweet react tweet. HS2 has been on the agenda for decades millions spent and a train yet to deliver a passenger. All the jobs it will create ? Who’s going to do them many don’t like hard work. Prefer to be an internet blogger or something. Parents pick up the bill.
And yet he still gets a massive majority, i think its you that doesn't get whats going on.
I bet you read the guardian and believe what the BBC tells you.
You won't lose votes upsetting the French.
Why publish a letter to the French on Twitter?
That's what's peesed the French off. It's not the way the diplomatic system works.
Yet ANOTHER Boris gaffe.
And the CBI speech Boris yapping on about Peppa Pig and losing his notes. Total embarrassment at home but especially abroad. Our international reputation a former shadow of itself as it is.
You mean why can't everyone think exactly what you think?
"Maybe our politicians should shame Macron more by reminding him of the sacrifices the UK made during WW1 and WW2."
Why must Brexiteers continually live in the past ? And why can't they ever get rid of their siege mentality ?
Lovely discussion on Brexit. What nobody talks about is that the Uk now has no truck drivers, no waiter, no tradesmen as they all went back to Poland and Romania. I don’t see Brits taking the jobs vacated, does anyone disagree.
Bumble, Agreed in principle, although the current mob seem to be particularly good at it. It might just be that time fades memory though.
Iam in till the end also. We keep saying it must be Close now and I won't be shocked if we keep saying this into Jan
Living in France for the last 20+ years, I agree with those who say that it’s best to leave this topic off the discussion board for EUA. It produces very blinkered views from both sides and is divisive. The only advice I’d give on the topic is to read factual rather than biased media and then make informed decisions… Read independent articles rather than base your opinions on the sun, the mail or the guardian and times etc… they’re all designed to make divisions one way or the other.
Same as with EUA… read RNSs rather than rely on a ramper or de ramper point of view…
I have.
And I’m happy with my significant-for-me holding, and am in till the end, which MUST be close…
GLA, PK.
Ragsbob i take it you didn't support brexit. You conveniently forgot to inform people about all the finance banks from europe tipping up in london.
All the big banks really dont care about brexit as they operate worldwide anyway.
4 % is quite laughable, did you not realise theres been a pandemic
My last point is if the uk is such a basket case why have 7 million people applied for residency .
