"What has all this achieved" The possibility that the oligarchs were only doing a spot of kite flying was talked about right at the outset on this bb. Everybody seems to be assuming that these guys are desperate to regain full control of the company but where's the proof of that. They might be as eager as some other shareholders to sell out for the best price they can get. And yes there's been a delay in the company being forced to address the free float shortfall which would impact on the oligarchs position here and the company has certainly gained flattering attention from Kerimov and others so folk are at least asking if the situation is as black as is being painted by certain sections of the media and posters like seifert.
Understand your frustration and it's almost impossible to fight the tide with a small stack but value is what I look for and a load of algorithm driven traders pouring out of the market can create better value. Stick to your guns unless you trade on sentiment, which is also fine. I've been OK today, AHT doing well saved my blushes from ENRC, which in itself has done better than the wider sector as we are event based trading. I'm braced for a walk away, although I'm a bit confused what all this have achieved?
Bravo! That is exactly the insight you should cultivate and keep in mind, and not bury your head in the sand like Mr. Ant986. This is not a market we are trading in. Some refer to it as a casino, others a circus, others a corrupted warren, a stitch up, etc. The metaphors are not of consequence. What matters is that t iis NOT a transparent market according to the doctrine of capitalism. Brokers feed misinformation to further their own agenda. They are not like gardeners feeding composts to the soil to enrich it. They seek to GAME it. That is what you have to bear in mind. Good luck!
Everything got severely hit today, look at some of the banks, oil companies, even Diageo, ARM and AB Food got a heavy slap on their face. Why, what happened? The traders were looking for an excuse for a sell-off and they found it in the words of Bernanke, who really said nothing new. I sometimes think traders are a bunch of clowns - if it wasn't that they mess with our money.
to join my filter list, look through his posts, nothing but misery, probably just picks shorts and then hammers the boards. No point replying, I won't read it.
That this stock did not suffer the same hammering as miners generally today, especially the ex-commie ones, speaks plainly of speculators convincing themselves that the gangsters in Kazakhstan will come forward with a 'reasonable bid'. The only way to play this one is to spin a coin, and hope for the best! - Good luck.
Hopefully we'll never know....................bloodbath today for miners, I'd be very concerned short term that no deal was announced into this carnage. Whichever angle you look at this from, some premium is already priced in here to the deal going through, how much, who knows for sure, but like you said sentiment and emotion is key (and the longer this is dragging out the more emotional I'm getting!)
The historic low was at 183p, at the height of the 2008 panic. Whilst I'd rather it did not go there again (for now), I would very much doubt it would go any lower than that, should things get worse. Should it go there and then bounce back I would be inclined to think it would spring up considerably, bid or no bid. The markets are taking a very dim general view at present, but it is excessive and driven by speculation and emotions - as always. The tide will turn - as always - and I expect this to happen sooner rather than later. The sign to look for is copper bouncing back from the current lows. I have to admit I am rather fed up of waiting, miners have been hammered for years now and especially of late, it's bloody high time for a reversal.
Indeed. I'll be forced into holding more long-term if that is the case. What I really don't want is another delay.
I think the bid will happen and will go through. But, just trying to take a pragmatic view on where the SP will end up short term in the event it doesn't happen - 160-170 imo, sobering thoughts!
Brokers are the most corrupted gang of pimps and thieves, and it really does not behove us to waste time citing them. We must learn the imperative of self-reliance, because you can be sure these guys will lie to you, god and even the devil to make a quick buck. ENRC is run, and owned by gangsters with the breeding of pigs. Target price for retails investors -zero. For them - £15 billion!
Laughable, but then I need a laugh! :)
Reiterates buy recommendation for enrc with target price of £8.30 though no timescale put on that lol http://sharedealing.nandp.co.uk/quote/?epic=enrc
Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with President - Chairman of the Board of JSC "Bank VTB" Andrei Kostin. As reported by Acorda , a meeting was held at the Hog. The meeting was also attended by the deputy head of the presidential administration Sultanov, a shareholder of LLP «ENRC Kazakhstan» F.Shodiev and First Deputy President - Chairman of the Board of JSC "Bank VTB" Yu.Solovev. "During the meeting they discussed the main directions of activity of the subsidiary bank in Kazakhstan, as well as the participation of VTB in the development and diversification of the economy. Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that "VTB Bank", being one of the largest banks, not only in Russia but also in Europe, has been actively involved in lending to the private and corporate sector of Kazakhstan ", - said in a statement. President drew attention to the need for increased co-operation for the development of entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan with the functioning of the Single Economic Space. In turn, the Chairman of the Board of JSC "Bank VTB" said VTB Group is actively operating in Kazakhstan. "We have plans to expand cooperation. In addition, the integration processes take place that increase the possibility of cross-border business. We are interested in working with large local companies, which are now entering the world and European level. So our goal - to explore the available opportunities here, "- said Mr. Kostin. During the meeting, the report says, were marked by long-term aspects of the mutually beneficial cooperation in the context of our ongoing efforts to improve the country's financial system. VTB Bank - Russian financial group providing services in Russia, the CIS, Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and the United States. The subsidiary bank is present in Kazakhstan since 2008. http://lsm.kz/prezident-rk-vstretilsya-s-glavoj-banka-vtb/
VTB Bank may Finance ENRC VTB may issue a large loan group ENRC. Perhaps this was discussed during the meeting with Nursultan Nazarbayev, the president of VTB Andrey Kostin and shareholder of ENRC Patokh Chodiev. This opinion was voiced LS analyst at investment holding company "Finam" Anton forty. "Most likely, the issue of funding. I do not think it will be a free help. It is quite possible that all three parties were present to discuss the terms. I do not know whether it is appropriate to call it by, for sure, it was a large loan for some favorable terms, "- Russian analyst believes. According to him, VTB is currently looking for ways to aggressive expansion of the funds received as a result of SPO. And cooperation with ENRC in this case can be very handy. "VTB recently spent SPO in Russia 100 billion rubles. And they were faced with the question of de-capitalization. It was difficult to find the cash to monetary expansion. Now, in principle, this issue has been resolved and VTB in this plan seeks aggressive expansion of the money that he has already received, so it seems to me such a big client he would say in the jargon "in the subject" - says A.Soroko. http://lsm.kz/vtb-mozhet-profinansirovat-enrc/
I agree, however naivety has a habit of not being felt until it's too late :)
But the bbs are not really the place for the genuinely naive to seek nor get honest and impartial investing advice. Better to seek advice off this bb.
will spike 30% next week. Then you can all decide whether to hold, sell at nice profit or sell at a smaller loss. All 3 sound good to me.
Little bit heavy handed, I think it's genuinely an admission of naivety, let's calm the righteous rhetoric ;)
The market is down, the sector is down, no surprise ENRC is down, its an easy target to shake out nervous investors. your choices 1) Buy more 2) Do nothing & hold 3) Sell One thing is for sure bid stories are not for the inexperienced investor, neither are mining stocks, and certainly not central aisan related issues!
I agree with you. If you made a mistake in thinking that Kerimov had sold all his shares here and posting a comment to that effect on this bb then you shouldn't be dabbling in things you obviously know nothing about.
Seems to me that you got out of bed on the wrong side! I wasn't trying to rattle cages, I thought this was a place where you could chat about both good and bad. My mistake.
No you always have other options. For instance, you can sell up right now if you're so concerned about things or you could post on days when the the share price is moving up. You could apply for a job with the company which is short selling these if you don't already work for them and you could muse on whether there is a scenario 5 or 6 here.
That may be true, but I didn't sell and now all I can do is hope they go up somewhat again. It's not a greed thing, I just want to get my money back and stop dabbling in things I obviously know nothing about.
Ah yes Tinks you are the poster who mistakenly reported that Kerimov had sold all his shares here and nobody has a clue when you made your bad choice here but it has had a pretty good run in the time in which you have been registered with lse.
