Blimey TL that’s lesson one of aim , it’s not fair. To be honest it’s nice to hear from you , shows you are human ! Suck it up and wait . Atb
One month changed my mind. It is long enough. I don't want a pointless nothing to say update. I know that they have plenty to say but choose not to right now. They are playing with shareholders.
That's wrong.
I guess that even as a stopped clock reads true twice a day sooner or later they have to update the market. Until the default has to be that the management has achieved nothing. Certainly the AIM with this share price values them as losers.
So on 2nd December 20 when they last updated the market they wanted the cash from the warrants. Now they have no interest as the warrants are done. The shareholders are now less important so they starve us.
When you ask questions it is like I want something personally. All I want is for them to do their job and update the market regularly.
The problem is not that I want information not in the public domain that's easy to get and of no value. I want more information in the public domain so shareholders can make an informed choice.
TL
what has prompted your change of stance over market updates in just a few weeks?
We're all entitled to change our minds, but a 180 turn around seems surprising?
Tracylied 13th May 2021 12:09
Uhif I am not in favour of updates to satisfy or support the market. If they have nothing to say then they should keep quiet. Updating each area as it matures or evolves makes sense.
TL, I’m holding out for an “incredibly encouraged”!
The lack of timely updates is painful. They expect people to sit on a wink and nod from David about being "encouraged" "very encouraged". I now wait for "very very encouraged" then I know we have made it.
Yes we've seen this many times, remember when that fund sold out and cratered the SP by about 25% one afternoon? Can be painful at times being an Enet holder. There's nothing sinister, it's just a very illiquid stock where if you need to sell even 50k it's very difficult on a non-news day.
Sergi not wanting to sound negative about silicom but look at the sp comparison over 6 months enet is winning 3 fold even with the current stagnation. We’ve been in this situation a fair few times since I’ve been here but it’s still moving in the right direction . Atb
OK so you posted it here by mistake then.
Tracy, Silicom is involved in the evenstar program
That’s my feeling as well TL, they don’t need us for anything right now. They know the true situation so why would they worry? If they do think like that they need a wake up call and soon.
Much comes down to trust I guess. It is very easy to fi d people who work at Ethernity and some are more chatty than others. They don't represent the company for reporting and only talk about how clever they are but you can learn a lot. My stance is that I have no fear for the volume of business they are doing or the project work that they have on. I don't think that they have a grip on the processes around running a micro cap listed company.
They could easily be more visible to investors and provide more information. However right now they don't need shareholders for anything so they are starved.
Maybe these guys are ok at running a company but a plc and bringing investors along for the ride requires a different skill set and one that, so far, they’ve not managed to master. The running out of cash this time last year was perhaps indicative that they are not as clever as they think they are!
They need to find time for ir, and not pay it lip service and as an afterthought, which is what it appears like.
It leaves one with a sneaky feeling that as they’ve raised all the cash through 5G and warrants, no need to bust a gut on the updating front.
Hi TL, I completely concur and, like it or not, the market is what will dictate the relative success or failure for shareholders in terms of share price. Who knows, maybe we'll all be positively surprised soon.
Sergi Ethernity could easily be involved in that but as we really don't know who they are working with how would we know.
Yes agreed however they have decided not to update the market leaving one to wonder about the amount of smoke and the number of mirrors in play.
David can be as encouraged as he likes but it means nothing to the market.

Taking the company into a 3x previous years income is excellent by anyone's standards and I am very mindful that the share price on Dec 1st last was 21p and it is currently 43p. I would, respectfully, point out however, that this includes the Dec 2nd RNS of 3x income, the Tarana deal and the increase, the DU announcement, and the various other announcements that have been discussed on here and other boards during the period.
IMO I would imagine that the market cap of this business may be somewhat different had the board seen fit to issue business development/progress updates at quarterly intervals during what is being generally purported to be an exciting time for the business with David's "...vision starting to become a market reality".
We'll see. GLA LTH.
Be great if that happens TL re DU development
I think ENET have got a fantastic story to tell here, but they do need to bring investors with them , let them in on what the vision actually is. How hard can that be!
The problem with ENET from an IR comms perspective is that deals are very concentrated and lead times from opportunity initiation to signing / revenue are long and uncertain / out of Andrew direct control - I do have some sympathy here.
I have always thought / hoped they were waiting for real progress before an update, but this has taken longer than expected.
Always a believer in standard timetabled updates, so shareholders know the format of what is coming and when - once a quarter ideal.
As with others I think PIs and other shareholders have been very supportive of the BOD, an update would be welcome.
Molineux, re field trials in China, you are correct. Last mentioned 6 months ago. To be fair, they ain’t even got round to confirming the forecast for 2020 was met. That is a minor point, but mentioned just to show they are tardy about updating full stop.
-- Revenue momentum with H2 2020 expected to be in line with market expectations (FY20: c. $2.0 million), representing growth of 400% over H1 2020 and similarly H2 2019.
-- Increasing visibility over 2021 forecast revenue with approximately 60% forecast revenue currently anticipated from existing ENET licensing contracts, subject to customer confirmations of order volumes.
-- Testing of ACE-NIC100 fully integrated within 5G deployment - selected over two major SmartNIC competitors' offerings. Larger scale commercial field trial now expected in 2021.
Large scale field trials are expected to start in 2021. Given the rapid timetable in China I think sooner rather than later.
I believe that the DU will deliver all 3 with a $1-2m upfront payment. I think that it will be this year but until it does it is just the boring old 3x last year's income.
Yes Molineux, there are certain times in the year when investors have a right and expectation to know in detail how their company is doing. Results, interim results, agm and further updates. ENET seem to pass on the AGM, probably because as the results are so late they push up towards the agm date. In a nice steady boring company a few updates a year is absolutely fine. Here, in a fast moving industry where ENET are trying to get established then 6 months from the last update is totally unsatisfactory.
It needs to improve, otherwise ENET may never get the rating they deserves, even if successful and will get bought out at a low level compared to the potential, that’s the concern.
Regarding the field trials in China and the DU development partnerships, I completely understand that the company cannot divulge details but, and I have said this before on multiple occasions, the company absolutely can give a progress update by way of overview. If this were an oil company drilling a well they would issue statements confirming breaking ground, then at certain depths of drill, and finally of success or failure. If memory serves, there hasn't actually been a statement confirming that the larger scale field trials in China have actually started (but I am more than happy to be told I am wrong). In any event, we are where we are and, no doubt, the results will be issued in due course.
Re the $6m, yes, that’s this years forecast, 3 times up in last years and thus when they say outlook unchanged, then they are referring to the $6m.
The DU development is great news and hopefully it will progress with all three, but I’m guessing it’s unlikely to add anything to the top line this year and also highly likely that there is or was nothing in the sakes budget for it either
imo
