Wasted traitor? Haha you can’t be serious Tanya. How can you call someone that.
An investor has simply changed their mind on an investment that’s all. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If the facts change they may decide to re-invest, it’s purely up to them.
It is their money and they may do what they see fit with it.
You take all this far too personally and get far too attached Tanya. It’s a really bad look and incredibly amateurish.
I’m off I think, this board has become a bit of a joke.
All the best with your investments whatever you decide to do folks. Like I said I’m in for now but if the facts change I reserve the right to change my mind as does any investor.
Monty you're right, I just had a look at the website. It's similar to what weatherspoons has, table service is an app where you can just order your items and pay without having to go straight to the counter or paying the staff from what I gather. Totally different from what bigdish has to offer - no yield management.
The restaurants they have are mostly "takeaways". Dish is aimed at the tier of restaurants who see themselves as too high end for takeaway. The Restaurant estate for Deliveroo is in the main large chains like KFC and the like remove those and they are seriously exposed as was illustrated during the lockdown. Comparing this from Deloo with Dish is like comparing apples and pears.
Table service is just another payment app...no reservations or bookings like bigdish...please stop misleading investors
Looks like below 2p today
Again this bb is misunderstanding things..Deliveroo is completely different
Ronny appreciate your honest opinion, it’s a massive blow and would be silly to ignore otherwise.
Deliveroo are a major leading competitor and are taking a slice of this space, Tanya you can’t pretend otherwise, Ronny has a significant holding why would he sell if can multi bag?
Worrying post Smithy if the already well established Deliveroo are making this offering it is going to make it very difficult for BigDish in particular
I see this as a real spanner in the works and a clever step by Deliveroo to crush a large number of food tech start ups that are trying to grab a piece of the pie.
The BigDish model is great and it looks like one of the Bigboys has noticed and decided to trample on any chance that was left of the BigDish team making this work.
With the latest dilution
Another set of safe to assume next to zero revenue results about to drop.
I fear this is going to take a severe bashing
Not alot to look forward to other than another set of poor results.
Followed by further dilution pushing towards half a billion shares.
Deliveroo's offering has made my mind up I'll be offloading alot of my holding, i will keep an interest in case they surprise us all, but following Deliveroo's announcement I don't think we are in for any surprises.
How is Bigdish compared to deliveroo? From what I gather bigdish will implement the delivery side similar to just eat where the restaurants own drivers are used. Deliveroo has their own drivers and tbh quiet expensive. Problem I see is people are assuming too much whether it's excessive deramping or ramping, it best to wait and see what the next RNS brings to the table.
Spero great points, however deliveroo may affect How many Dish sign up going forward and also they are charging 0, it’s very competitive.
Dish really need to get back in the driving seat and push this forward imo
I think there's an overlap in target customers (restaurants) between BigDish and Deliveroo table service, but not a huge one, and the services each company offer are different. Deliveroo are aiming for takeaway venues and for restaurants at the budget end of the spectrum - the venues who would be happy to display Deliveroo branding in their windows to attract custom. Many places won't want to sit alongside burger bars in the same app and these will continue to be served / targeted by BigDish.
The Deliveroo service doesn't offer the yield management features of the BigDish platform, which continues to be the key selling point of BigDish.
My other major holding is Ocado. With CV-19, there's been a major channel-shift from traditional trolley-pushing shopping to online ordering. Everytime a major bricks & mortar supermarket gains an online shopper, they effectively cannibalise one of their in-store shoppers, and deliver to them at a loss. These customers are trained in the use of online shopping using an inferior service to Ocado. Ocado then finds it much easier to poach these customers than it would've been to poach a traditional in-store shopper. To escape the CV-19 hospitality chaos, restaurants are going to need to turn to technology. Let them get their feet wet with Deliveroo, then BigDish can focus on converting the now restaurant-tech-aware restaurateurs to a better platform.
I had two top-ups today.
The deliveroo news is certainly not the best. However, I highly doubt they are going to become a monopoly in this. What is more worrying to me is the fact they haven't updated their main twitter feed since March 20th. How they're going about marketing this new feature I have no idea. Not going to lie, not having the best feelings at the moment.
The issue here is Deliveroo already have these restaurants on their platform for delivery now they will offer dine in at 0 cost, so why would anyone use another app?
Tanya this is def. not gd news
They already have 35000 restaurants Dish can’t compete with that?
The company said it hopes the tool, which will be available on July 15 for the 35,000 restaurants on its app, will make it easier for restaurants to maintain social distancing guidelines. "This is an important safety feature to give consumers confidence they can return to restaurants safely, and for restaurant staff, who will be able to work while minimising in-person contact," Deliveroo said in a statement. While the company normally takes a cut of orders delivered by its bike couriers, table service orders will be offered free of commission, Deliveroo said. Deliveroo said it would also offer restaurants on its app 0pc commission for orders that customers come to pick up themselves for three months.'
