i have a very close eye on it and if things start to look ropey ill pull the trigger. As for now im well in the gravy so have a bit of leeway. As far as im aware there are no forecasted financials until August so it has a good few months of stability in my opinion. But as ever each to their own, GLA
FWIW I am in Cobham for the third time in 12 months as part of my "Jugglers" portfolio ie catching falling knives!! I intend to sell the nil paid rights and exit my holding at a decent profit- i fully expect an opportunist bid in the future but having cleared a decent profit I don't intend to wait .
7.18% of free float in Cobham is currently held by short positions. That's up considerably since last time I posted here. Will be interesting to watch the short positions over the next few days on the link below after today's RNS...TBH I don't think COB can turn things around so quickly. More bad news on financials may be around the corner. http://shorttracker.co.uk/company/GB00B07KD360/all
Thanks Casapinos, personally I'm opting for the 75p shares and hoping to go looooooong on these until the dividend recovers. But I'll play it by ear.
All holders today should have an entry in their portfolio showing "NIL paid rights" you can sell these in the market(currently showing at 54.2p for me) or opt to buy additional shares(2 for 5 at 75p) or "tail swallow"- ie sell some rights to fund buying some shares(eg if you have 5k rights worth 54p(ish) sell 3k fror £1.5k cash - enough to buy the other 2k rights you own) hope this helps any wondering about options
any thoughts on the divi smillingyellowvan? My understanding from press release when the dilution was announced was they were culling it until the company improves its balance sheet? But it was never clearly stated if it was a total removal of divi for the time being, or even if it was actually getting reduced? Assuming it returns to its 2016 pay out at some point i'm sat on a 8.8% divi!
spoke to my broker who said the written offer of discounted shares was coming my way and will arrive today.... V happy with that, with my top up today got an average of 117p incl discounted shares.
I have just bought 10k for long term improvement in the company and divi
well I topped up today on the dilution dip.....just still waiting for my offer to take up the discounted shares.
i don't think you would have received any messages or options on the rights issue yet? It only went to record yesterday! Im not 100% on timelines though. As soon as I receive my options ill let you know
Thing is I did not see any options I could have taken. And now the message is gone from my online share dealing account. No trace of it. So does it mean I will get the 2 for 5 offer automatically or...what? Please enlighten me...kindly. Thanks
what im not sure about is this...........what happens if I sell my holding tomorrow.....do I still get the offer of the rights issue as I was holding at the cut off time? or do I have to hold the shares until issue date of April 19th to qualify?
my understanding (and it is just that so don't take it as gospel) is: you should receive a message from your broker asking you what you want to do (with 3 options on the table)....take up your rights and purchase at 2/5 * your current holding (at the discount price).....ignore and do nothing....or sell your rights to purchase at the lower discount
Hi, So do I need to do anything to accept the rights issue? or do I need to simply lay back and think of the proverbial, and my current shares will get converted automatically. Please kindly clarify, Thanks
Did you buy in smilllingyellowvan? I'm hoping to hold these long now in the hope of a bit of a recovery in the company, then in time return to dividends.... "if" they ever recover to 2016 divi levels I could be looking at 9% returns from divi alone!
for my sins I bought in just now with a small tranche. I will be taking up the rights issue in order to get a decent average.........."IF" it drops below my new average on the rights issue day, ill top up and average down further....then that will be my lot. let the roller coaster begin
im pondering the same....just done the calcs, and if you buy in at todays price and take up the offer, you would in theory end up with an average of 114p (assuming the rights issues are the same as normal shares?)....if that is the case 114p is a tempting average. On the other hand you can wait until the day of the rights issue and buy that day as the SP will drop - however its a gable as to what value the SP will drop to. I did it with Tullow Oil and bought in at 198p - however if I had bought the shares and taken up the rights issue my average would have been 185p, so I would have been better buying early and taking the rights anyone else care to comment if im accurate on this?
I would appreciate the thoughts on the rights issue giving options to buy at .75p for every 5 shares you can buy 2
I saw an article today (think it was telegraph) that seemed to imply the investigation was down to the timing of the LAST rights issue, not this current one. Bit galling for the new management this just taken over if that is the case.
Disclosed short positions in COBHAM PLC now at 5.93%
Details of the Rights Issue · 2 for 5 fully underwritten Rights Issue of 683,145,540 New Ordinary Shares to raise gross proceeds of approximately £512.4 million (approximately £496.6 million net of fees and expenses) · The issue price of 75 pence per New Ordinary Share represents a discount of 40.9% to the Closing Price of 126.8 pence per Existing Ordinary Share on 27 March 2017 (being the last Dealing Day prior to the date of this announcement), and a 33.0% discount to the theoretical ex-rights price of 112.0 pence per New Ordinary Share calculated by reference to the Closing Price on the same basis http://www.investegate.co.uk/cobham-plc--cob-/rns/terms-of-rights-issue/201703280700137096A/
Anyone have any ideas yet as to what the infringement was? All I've seen so far is they are going to be investigated! I'm not holding here but have one eye on it, if it drops as a consequence of the dilution - and potential repercussions of this investigation I may be tempted.... mind you depends on what they have done now, if it's pure mismanagement it does make you wonder
Disclosed short positions in COBHAM PLC now at 5.65%. Could be higher tomorrow? http://shorttracker.co.uk/company/GB00B07KD360/all
