Does anyone know the date this is going ex rights? I had a look on the RNS and cant see it? Have they announced the date yet?
No, they are not rigged. Goldman Sachs told me ;--) COB looking interesting ....
When your Short goes wrong - why is the cry always 'the market is rigged'? Heaven forfend, perhaps you made a mistake? Markets are volitile & can punish those only in a stock for 5 minute, get over it :)
Thanks for that.Just closed one short for a small profit but still have the other running . will try and play the swings now.
Yesterday took me by surprise. All I can say is that the anticipated drop from yesterday´s R.I. must have already been factored in at the 110p low from the warning given on the 16th Feb. Trading in the 130-140p range now. Rights issue will dilute the shares by another 30% or so IMO at a significant discount. Institutional investors will be sitting on a nice profit to sell and short at the same time. Shorts increased again to 4.86% from 4.75% yesterday. Turnaround for the company will not be overnight and there could be some other bad news coming soon before that. So yes, IMO its going down.
Caballero, thks for the chart. So where to next, up or down. wish i had held my shares now.
From the chart, it can be seen that the similar previous announcement of £500m Rights Issue on 26th April 2016 caused a big drop. This time however, the big drops occurred with the 11th Jan and 16th Feb 2017 RNSs and yesterday's announcement with the full year results and new management expectations lifted the share price. 140p resistance, 130p support.... https://s11.postimg.org/4na04j60j/COBHAM_ORD_2_5_P.png
Nice rise.
This lot put out iffy results and actually dropped but within 2 days were back above the price before results. All driven by those who can!!
Everything seems strange these days, just can't read the market anymore. Seems the indexes are no longer driven by the markets either, more like the other way round but only when the FTSE drops haha. They might as well call the FTSE 100 a share as that is how its being played by those who can, along with the price of oil. Plenty of shares I watch just get played up and down by 'A' trades all day long week in week out. So irrational AND rigged. Really thought these would go sub £1 today.
whats peoples thoughts.
yep i dont get it , lost on that short, only £100 but still . Proposed Fully Underwritten Rights Issue price must be known in the city.
Seifert - agree entirely - I am not invested here but when I see premium companies Like AAL GLEN KAZ CEY PMO etc all way down today but COB produces a terrible set of results (I was an accountant) and the SP rockets up - clearly the MMs live in a parallel world to the normal people of planet Earth. Well done to all who made money today. Regards
The CEO declared that this company's stock is effectively around 22 percent less that yesterday's close, yet the stock rises? Many often feel that markets are rigged. This leaves the decided impression that they are. Only insider information of a sort can account for this most bizarre price action.
Careful bud, You may get caught in wrong direction! GL
in out and back in.
mad , defiantly. in profit , ATM.
4.76% in fact
Current disclosed short positions on COB is 4.5% of shares in issue. Check again tomorrow on the link below to see if it is any more or any less... http://shorttracker.co.uk/company/GB00B07KD360/all
You must be mad to short when share price is moving up by over 5% after it went down in the morning. Their outlook is not as bad as predicted and hence the share price rise.
This is now almost an exact repeat of the year before...(1st June 2016) "The issue price of 89 pence per New Ordinary Share represents a discount of 45.4% to the Closing Price on 31 May 2016, and a 35.7% discount to the theoretical ex-rights price of 138.3 pence per New Ordinary Share calculated by reference to the Closing Price on the same basis" See links below. http://www.investegate.co.uk/cobham-plc--cob-/rns/trading-update--financial-position---equity-issue/201604260700092905W/ http://www.investegate.co.uk/cobham-plc--cob-/rns/cobham-plc---terms-of-rights-issue/201606010700098162Z/
