There’s something very wrong with the share price action of this share. It goes EC- dividend tomorrow but the MMs are hammering the price down today. They’re looking to drive it down to 60p as early as tomorrow so their brokerage arms can make fortunes on their shorts.
No news today. Two recent upgrades to strong buy. More buys than sells.
And the market makers are marking it down. How can you have the people in control of the shareprice shorting it at the same time???
Heard from the FCA yesterday who sent me the reply below. Surely they know it’s not a level playing field when the MMs can pick a number so that their brokerages and clients can make money out of our. That is price fixing of the worst kind, much worse than libor rate fixing. The FCA need to remove the scum, decimate their companies with hundreds of millions in fines and imprison the culprits for decades as well as stripping them of all their assets, down to their clothing.
“Thank you for coming back to us with additional information regarding your concerns about the share trading in Centrica and possible collusion in the market.
What I have done with your information
Further to my previous correspondence, I have shared the information you provided with my colleagues in our Market Abuse Team. Please note that I won’t be able to provide you with any feedback on how we have followed up the information you have given us. I appreciate this can be frustrating, this is because of our policy on confidentiality restrictions. We may, however, contact you if we need further information. “
Toff,
Don’t waste your time with FCA, they can’t do anything as it would drive shortsellers elsewhere. The U.K is the prime market for shorters and market abusers because our economy is so weak and can’t afford to lose any of their business.
The main blame is on the company not defending its share price or doing a good job so stop wasting your time. FCA must be funded by market makers so they can’t do nothing.
Normally I might agree that there is something wrong with the market actions - for this one, however, the market is overpricing Centrica. The company might be one of the very few of its size and scale that genuinely might go bust! It is haemorrhaging customers and making substantial losses. I wouldn't invest even if it were 20 pence a share.
It’s all down to the CEO and the board they have run the company downhill for the last 3years. I am still in contact with some of my ex colleagues @ the company in senior positions and they despair at the way the company is being run. All the memos they get from the top are a load of rubbish and the CEO has no idea. When the company started the downhill journey the CEO should have been dismissed on the KPIS that he has failed to deliver. We all had KPIS that needed to be delivered anyone else with poor figures usually got dismissed under the management of performance structure
I have a friend who works there as an external consultant. Says that people are running around like headless chickens. Really is boils down to a company buying other companies and spending a fortune integrating them. Integration rarely works successfully and costs a hell of a lot of money... Then when they want to sell the company, they have to spend money hiving it off... seriously a lot of the projects that Centrica are involved in a complete waster of money!
Do we trust the Board?....I don't
Holding in Hope
Nuri,
The Conn man is to blame, he is an old school entitled illiterate guy. In a world where customer data is gold.......you shouldn’t lose customers! The current board can’t monetise their customer data, can’t cross sell successfully but want to waste money on hive! We should be partnering with someone else to help them sell connected products. CNA should be using scale to take money here and there not wasting money on inventory.
The workers and general attitudes stinks also but this problem is U.K wide..........workers just don’t think they need to do a good job. The execs get bonus even if they bankrupt the company.........no wonder the communists want to nationalise the essential sectors. I just don’t know what school FTSE100 CEOs went to as 90% of them are just pure dumb screw heads.
Spirit energy stake should pay down some debt but nuclear stake is currently worthless along with some assets sitting on the balance sheet. Zero goodwill and zero intangibles........CNA must work twice as hard to make money off trading energy and supplying energy......simples.
The workers and general attitude stinks but this attitude is UK wide, workers just don't think they need to do a good job.
Big bold statement that is and totally out of order I see very few people who don't want to be seen to be doing a good job, I see a lot of people who go well out if their way to help in way of doing their jobs. I do know people who actually work for Centrica too, oh not in the Senior positions, but ordinary people who enjoy doing what they are doing and take pride in it. They don't like Conn that's true but they are hopeful for the future. Try going with a Carer for a day or spend some time working with a charity then you might see this so called poor attitude you talk of, is NOT UK wide.
There you have it, look at short positions, the price was been probably hammered down before ex div date to allow short positions to close or close some of their holding before the ex dividend date and the consequence of the shorts to pay the divi out of their positions, will be interesting to see how the short holdings change up to the ex divi date.!!
H-Hi -- Don't wish to be personalbut did you stumble when you typed your name ?
You certainly stumbled on Wednesday about FCA
Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) was set up and funded by the Government ! ----- Yours, Max.
MaxM,
So the FCA budget doesn’t come from the market makers directly! The government has no money so the sector fines, fees and taxes pay for running FCA. If activity diminishes in that sector then FCA budget would be chopped.
i have never owned such a crap company shares they just keep on going from bad to worse to even worse ..is there any light at the end of the tunnel? The new ofgem leader might think about removing the cap that is all i can think of in the near future
Any other clues ?
Agree, the basics are being ignored, I think someone already mentioned. I tried to change the direct debit my maint contract with British Gas, " an unexpected error occurred, try again later" 2 days later, same again, spoke to on line agent, " I will sort it out" 2 days later " an unexpected error occurred, try again later", phoned the number on the web site to try and speak to someone " this number is no longer in use, please try and manage your account on line"...………………….. WTF...…
