Just to add here is the proof of Disney.
https://www.goldmansachs.com/our-firm/history/moments/1957-disney-ipo.html
A large number of their voting shares are CFD's, I don't think GS want to miss this rise if/when it takes off.
I am unsure however of how a swap financial instrument works - any takes on this?
Everyone was panicking before the start of the day.. now cine is in much better position compared to other shares today. Simple thing is market is massively down, nothing just negative for cine. I'll hold long term
Goldman have increased their voting percentage. Expect another RNS later. If another increase in voting percentage. Then see this as Disney making inroads in their acquisition of Cineworld. Goldman’s working for Disney.
@johnht
I do not see any personal insults on this thread. Simply two investors asking for your explanation on why you think the RNS from GS today is a bad thing.
I think we would both be interested to know why you think this. This is not a personal insult, quite the opposite.
If you have no explanation then this could easily discredit your initial comment...
I've explained - it's one thing having the odd dig to fellow investors or bit of ribbing, but to get personal insults is quite nasty. On that basis, I refused to offer this explanation as there are others who thought they were smart investors. I haven't heard them respond and I'm not willing to offer an explanation at this stage. What you will notice is that the SP went down on Friday (and also today more than the other companies).
It’s interesting that you have no response to this @johnht ........
@johnht
Are you able to explain exactly why that RNS is bad news please?
@johnht what’s your interpretation of today’s and last week’s RNS from GS? Genuinely interested to know
As I mentioned last week, expect another RNS before the 24th and here it is - I take it as bad news. You may wish to see it as something positive.
