Ok having pondered that was probably a bit ott so I’m going to take a drink of water before someone put my head Collar on !!!
Gla all
See you in a month or two
ffc
I also like the fact we don’t know much about many of our “investment” cutting out some of the pontificating bs !!!!
It’s a fairly straightforward business model if we trust our bod
TWT I acknowledge everything you said, though to find out what the Argentinean legal team might be up to then we need to look at their past lawsuit stalling l tactics, they've successfully delayed our case from round 2015+ with every stall tactic in the book, and that's ok, that's acceptable normal legal dispute practice.
So why would they change now, judge preska is as you say trying to establish who's all involved in this legal dispute, she also needs to establish the potential losses involved to any party in her fact finding period, she could rule in favour of burford , but how can she determine any potential losses to burford unless the $1.5 billion REPSOL claw back money gets settled, and that might take a very long time,or not, I can't see anyone handing over that sort of money without a fight or even court case , unless burford agrees upfront with judge Preska, that they will factor that into any judgement or settlement with two sets of settlement losses.
I agree TWT maybe I'm over thinking this matter, and we just need more information around the delays in court news over the last week and our rising share price, though I'm 100% certain that burfords shares are seriously under priced considering the real opportunity of a near doubling of our share price on any settlement news.
I also wholeheartedly agree with FFC maybe we can shake of the circus commotion around our Peterson case and just rely on our numerous other ordinary great court wins,
The world is constantly changing because of the easy access to the internet / mobile phones tablets etc , people are very easily joining group litigation claims and transferring their documents to validate their claims, and burford is at the forefront of that revenue stream.
I myself have just last week joined the diesel car deception fiasco , and in 24 hours 3 of my family also signed up, Lets hope burford is bankrolling most of this multi billion pound market. I know Burford is making a fortune in the German diesel scandal market.
Hopefully the tide is turning and burford can attain a deservedly high premium of a share price.come,
The very best of burford is yet to come.
Kind regards GTX1
I agree TWT but I fully understand why our bod were so keen to point out this years was not backed up
with any help from the petersen sales and hopefully we won’t sell anymore going forward , it shows what we are capable of without and “ big ticket” wins and I assume a lot were from previous “bets” from years with less investments!!!
Ffc - The 1.5B repayment (PRO Report) to Argies if BUR win, came originally from the main man - Mr Maril - twitter page, few weeks ago now. I also think this is a separate case and will come after the events in Petersen.
Feel this case is like watching a slow film! it is dramatic with a slow build up! We only get snips of what is going on from the press....
BUR Results - We have had 2 years on a trot of a decline in nett profit, so really hope things are gearing up behind the scenes at BUR and we get some stella results this year ...
I did wonder where that repsol repayment story came from ? so no ones saying Argentina have actioned anything regarding this yet ?? Many thanks TWT I couldn't find the source for that . Not that I think it should have a bearing on our case as surely that would come after our settlement no ?
Like I've said before ,Petersen has already been very rewarding for us already and I hope we get the anticipated big payday but in a good few years time we may well benefit more from but more average wins than the lumpy stuff "a la petersen"
lets hope so TWT , as I've said before I've not been to fussed about the day to day sp but we are now so blooming cheap I don't want someone coming along and stealing my future gains here !!!
GT - We don't know what these meetings are about, think you might be over analysing this my friend, we don't have enough information i feel to determine the current state of events. At the moment the judge is trying to clarify who is involved in the case and who will benefit from the pay out, which requires further testimonies from Petersen previous CEO - as they were not happy with previous testimony. I mentioned that a professional report was produced in the Spanish courts, which stated that they 'think' the Argies over paid Repsol for not disclosing investment in the Petersen Group and if BUR win they are to pay back 1.5B. Again this is a different source of events and we don't know the process of how vital this statement is.
Feel we don't have enough info, and are becoming mind readers on the matter! Could be this, could be that - or we could be going down the wrong path altogether.
Just not enough information on the case yet.
but at lease the case is moving!!
Yes fingers crossed ffc. If so we should see the dips fill with buys as people look to get in while it’s cheap!
Just to be clear , I feel the welcome advancement of our sp may be down to a change in sentiment ? Not merely a spike ! Fingers xd
TWT the reason I have my theory around burford needing more time right now, was because how can burford come to any concrete court lead fact finding settlement figure if the Argentinean side are saying they originally over paid to much to REPSOL 7 years ago, this very scenario could easily delay our lawsuit unless the court lead fact finding settlement figure can be arrived at, thus the urgent need right now for burford to plot another course around this very possible Argentinean stalling tactic ,
Argentina maybe right about this 7 year GAFF of $1.5 billion, !!! but either way burford simply can't afford to fall into another delaying legal trap that may put years onto our case, this very REPSOL $1.5 billion figure is a instrumental part of our lawsuit, so it has to be thought out carefully, we've seen how Argentina done everything to stall proceedings , with which country it should be held in, and using the pandemic to its maximum to slowdown or potentially stop key Argentinean witnesses from personally participating in our lawsuit,
I state all of the above without PREJUDICE, all the above shall not be admissible in any court of law. That's just me protecting myself.
I agree with all these post here in that it's extremely difficult to pin point any particular reason for the share price spike ,other than burford is worth much much more than it's current price and it maybe just another spike as FFC states , my theory and others are food for thought , so that we can all benefit from things we might not have thought relevant,
It definitely is a never-ending rollercoaster ride as TWT states, though as we hit a much higher SP I guess it won't matter as much. Well not to me ,
Kind regards GTX1
Completely agree guys I think it’s just a little turn in sentiment no more than that ??? Happy with that if it can hold for a while around these levels until more positive news
Gla
I also think GT is TB. But I don’t mind as liked the input from both - I like hearing everyone’s views if a agree with them
Or not. It is hard to get to excited when we have been here before with SP, then seen it drop 25% over weeks after.
New factors at play now - I’m really not convinced it’s anything to do with Petersen - trial is due 2022, they are still fact finding stage.
Must be ii / don’t feel shorts are that highly. Also expecting a dip ...
Hi Sammy, I don't want to say breakout as I've got excited and then quickly deflated many times before here. However, previous significant rises have alway preceded results or the NYSE listing, this seems different and I can't determine the driver. If it is a YPF development we could easily see a double in SP. Unfortunately or fortunately I'm fully invested and have some strong holds that I won't divest from to add to an already overweight holding. I need to be strong and remain disaplined (if that applies when holding 25% of portfolio in a single holding), but wouldn't be supprised if something is afoot. Gl all
Thanks JammyC, maybe it's best to ignore the whole Gtx1 / Thomas Browne saga. I reckon it's probably the same person, but if he doesn't spread lies about Burford I'm not too fussed.
As for your question on the reason for the rise, I have to say it's hard to tell. Maybe YPF is developing, but if it were doing so materially I would expect the SP to shoot up even faster given how huge a settlement will likely be.
Given how up and down the share price has been the last year I'm kind of expecting it to deflate again here. But who knows, maybe there really will be a "breakthrough".
In short my advice would be don't get too excited! (but at the same time it's pleasing to see)
Anyway, moving on- A great day and past week here for patient holders. Hopefully it will long continue. I'm not sure as to the reason. Is it the recent equity raise that has put it on the radar of a US fund or II, or is there something going on with YPF? Or any other ideas? I think both of my suggestions would allow the climb to continue, with an obvious preference towards the later. Well done to the LTHs
What a brilliant day burford holders, yes TWT a roller coaster of a share price and emotions LOL, today leaves me happy and eager for a even higher price tomorrow, 6% up in the states you say ffc, absolutely brilliant news, so Argentina is asking for REPSOL in Spain to basically pay or help with our nearly certain settlement , that will go down nicely in Argentina and save some face for that administration. If Argentina has to pay us then they can dutifully tell their own tax payers that they should be able retrieve $1.5 billion from REPSOL'S coffers , it could be a absolute God send to Argentina's current and future finances, if we can get the massive frenzied private investor market onboard in America then burford will surly fly to its deserved premium share price. This week should be very rewarding and interesting .
CHEERS EVERYONE. GTX1
And currently up over 6% in the states too so fingers xd
Lovely SP movement, happy days ... come on BUR
Let’s see if we hit that £8 barrier ... happy days
Well done all medium/long holders. It’s been a rollercoaster
I hardly think it’ll be someone else gtx , well not unless you’re thinking of bringing Thomas back from the dead again !!!
Nice reply tho I like a challenge!
FFC nothing's going to make you happy at the moment, that's sadly regrettable, if it's not me then it will be someone else that attracts that blast of negativity building up inside you, I think underneath that anger is probably a very very nice person, maybe it's time to touch base with that very nice person again.
Kind regards GTX1
Glad your happy and I’m pleased that you seem not to want to replace our bod anymore or want want us to open up an office in every high street encouraging People to sue every time the slip on a banana skin !!!!! But I’ll call out all bull****ers !!!! Enough said
Johnnyrh now that's what I want to see, more celebrations and positivity around burford moving higher, yes £2.79 was a great price , and I'm confident burford will eventually surpass its highest ever SP, should anyone wish to post that burford will hit £21 24 hours a day , then be my guest, because it's going to eventually happen, everyone should respectfully feel free to post as they wish , not as others determine.
Good luck to everyone GTX1
If this breaks 785 ????and holds, I might celebrate Christmas early, or at least have a roast
I have been in since £2.79 I think it was, and then out and in. Anyone who held and had an average from way back when it was really low have kept instead of selling despite going upto 21 quid and then plummeting back down, haven't they? That is taking a serious eye off the ball isn't it? Or another way to have a really low average would be to sell off in tranches, and never buy again!
