Im already a holder at 888 aswell as GVC (back from the sporting bet days) made a great profit from the gain in sporting bet, followed by conversion oto gvc shares during takeover ,then corresponding share price rise of GVC the increased profits from larger business brought.. Hence ive bouht a shedload of BWIN PARTY too ..... even if you take todays prices,,, do the maths its a great arbitrage oppurtunity
Hold that thought, 888 price is up so the net offer now is closer to 1.09 with the 888 premium, so it makes sense that there are buyers of bpty above the 1.04 level. My head hurts, going to lay in a darkened room I think.
Interesting to note that the share price has now gone above 105, tells me there is still a chance of a further offer at some point? Or at least some buyers at 1.05 are taking a punt on it.?
It still has to be agreed by the shareholders, so if a better deal comes along this one could be rejected.
Is the deal final or is there scope for any other developments? From these articles it seems that it all confirmed - http://www.marketwatch.com/story/888-to-buy-bwinparty-for-8933-million-2015-07-17?siteid=rss
And still the stock price does not move ... oh well
By the way, thanks for the kind words Kamel. I think we both gained from our early encounters, and seem to be on the same page after all that. GL
Of course, we still have the chance of a counter from GVC or a third party to look forward too as well.
Just done some more maths and concluded that if 888's share price reaches 175 we get our 110 offer anyway. Not too unhappy with this. If anything moves in the US now the new company is all over it with no serious rivals, that is all the time Amaya have issues. But at least now we have a chance against them.
Should have said fair premium on when the takeover discussions were first mooted. Glad the guy white rose on interactive investor got his recent price predictions for this totally wrong and other posters comments were way off beam. good luck all
At the end of the day, thorntons holders got an offer which was at a price higher than the share price had been for five/ten years but they had stopped paying a divi in the last few years. One coming up here soon? Interim divi here the same as the final? Thorntons share price more of a rollercoaster arguably than here. At the end of the day though you have to look at hard facts. If bpty had been a complete dog then nobody would have been interested and there was a fair premium on the price it was at when the takeover was announced. Dog or not, kamel and I bought and made good money. Did sell at over £1.06 when I thought the deal could fall through given how the whole thing was dragging on. Hold a small batch now and undecided as to what to do. atb
Cheers Malta. QE, yes, Thorntons was not good at all, glad I was clear of that one.
Wish you well, Crooks. I'm out mainly on the risk of my investment. I doubt GVC will let 888 run away with this. It's a one off opportunity for GVC to dominate the market.
The Offer will include a Mix and Match Facility, so that bwin.party Shareholders will be able to elect to vary the proportions of cash and New 888 Shares they receive, subject to offsetting elections made by other bwin.party Shareholders. The Mix and Match Facility will not change the total number of New 888 Shares to be issued by 888 or the total cash consideration to be paid to bwin.party Shareholders pursuant to the Offer. Offer based on 888 closing price yesterday of £1.60 but more than that now. If bpty does not spike then this has to be a hold. Come on gvc let's be hearing from you. Hey crooks at least you weren't holding thorntons when it fell to 10p! That's was hair raising. Good luck all.
Should attract more investors to the table, too.
Was just about to mention Norbert will be getting the kick ha! Overall i think it will turn out to be a good deal for long term investors.
Not the one I expected to win but no spike here for kamel - still 888 up over 8% now and a full rns available from them http://www.investegate.co.uk/888-holdings-plc/rns/rule-2-7-announcement/201507170700253188T/
Yeah, fingers crossed they keep going up, will sweeten the deal some.
888 up over 6% this morning.
Far bit of flesh on the bones here. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/5b9b941c-2c4a-11e5-8613-e7aedbb7bdb7.html#axzz3g8U7M500
One big plus is Teflon will NOT be on the new board!!
The offer consists of 39.45p in cash and 0.404 new 888 shares for each Bwin share. Upon completion Bwin shareholders will own 48.9 percent of the enlarged group. So yes, Malta's correct.
Yes, and it works out at 1.04
You are getting cash and 888 shares, so you have to do the maths, which I have done for you. Anyways, Good luck.
1.04 is what you'll get
