Today’s in-depth announcement reinforces my view that this company is going places. Everything is there for to drive growth. Not only clear growth strategies are in place for CSS and Verso Biosense but the exciting reference in the trading update is around exploring opportunities to significantly expand the real estate side of the business. Build to rent perhaps ?
No doubt some will make reference to the loss and potential equity raise. Not me, this business is fully underwritten by the Dickson family. I really cannot see anything but good times ahead. I think there are some real sharp cookies at the helm. Crack on Charles Dickson.
C1.............well observed........my fingers firmly crossed....
Website off line and being updated. Fingers crossed they are good to go with commercial launch.
C1.......thanks.........Will do...............
Please do so, it’s worth a read
C1........no
Fortitude, have you read the pdf on the Vivoplex website ?
CI...........yes absolutely right .....V will be massive................
Do not underestimate the value Vivoplex could have here. We should be expecting an update soon as to when they can commence selling. Potentially massive.
Thanks Fortitude and of course we have been distracted by 19 and I suspect investors or potential investors may be looking at what they see, cars, pubs and property and not what is to be seen given time. But of concern at the moment must be cash which will need to be borrowed to progress any property development before any return. I guess the progestin will be sold rather than retained for investment income. Hopefully we will get an update soon that will reveal all.
Hi.... ISM
As you probably are aware I only invest in companies with strong management with proven track record.......I cannot advise on anyone else's portfolio for obvious reasons sufficith to say that I am here for the medium longterm haul ........We undoubtedly have sections which will have taken a hit from C19 but we have much bigger fish to fry in the form of property, sleep hub and coffee wholesale......What is worth remembering here is that the Dickson entity was multifaceted , this can be seen from the 317 page R takeover prospectus.........finally, Ironveld looks good.....deal done and a transformation will take place here...............
So Fortitude are we to become a property investment/ development company? Or are we a second hand car dealer, owner of closed pubs, sleep hubs or vendors of coffee? You clearly know but I am a long term investor and at the moment don't know if I am on foot or horseback. You appear to be close to CJ for whatever reason and it would be helpful to know where Dickson of Dock Green of Dock Green is taking us. Please give me a good reason why I should add to my not insignificant holding. If I should not add, should I sell or if I should not sell must I hold and hope for the best outcome? At the moment there appears to be little sense of direction for a £27m company with an apparent quality management. I feel we should suspend, the Directors should go away and effectively regroup and come back to the market when they know where they are taking us. This post is by no means personal, comes after a bottle of wine but seeks to know how I can double my money to get back where I started from. My friend in the North who is a substantial investor and has a large property portfolio is also a little concerned. As you may know from other postings I have a reasonable holding in IRON and in that case believe it will come right.
Not much to add other than I believe this will be the first of more eagerly anticipated company updates. All to play for.
RNS today.......Another very good deal with payment at outset....shows maturity and skill of Charles and team.... .Commercial market looks particularly strong for these types of sites......Worth underlining that at present this section is way and above the largest part of the company.......Your take here C 1.............
1p increase today ?
No they're all Totenham
Not me. I support Altrincham. I love your posts, but I have no interest in the premier league.
I have a liking for Manchester City, but the Red Red Robbins go Bob Bobbing Bobbing along.
Check out Jackie Swindles, a folk hero around these parts, and our giant killing feats in the FA Cup.
Any Arsenal fans on this board?
BOD first class and no doubt they have an agenda not known to us but they need to clarify how they see the way forward. Could they suspend, not take private or delist, shuffle the pack by selling any non core businesses, raise some cash and make a major acquisition. I am sure that C19 has put them off their intended course and they now need to take a view of the next six months and look at damage limitations. Pubs and sleep overs will take another hit into the summer and potential customers will be looking at 2022 before they feel comfortable. Yes we can buy more pubs from distressed owners but I agree that pubs is not what we are about. Full year figures and interims to 31December will probably come together and we can expect the trading update for the first half of the current year to be flat. Any idea as to how Sleep Hub is going? Sales, cost of marketing etc - do we know how many we need to produce/sell to break even? Do we know if we are buying the cars we are selling or holding in trust and taking a commission on any sale. Also bit of a conflict - we promote coffee which I understand can keep people awake and then try to sell them Sleep Hub. Very clever so we should be making a fortune.
C1.........yes sorry about that read in haste........100%. Second that.......I don’t have much to reply to negative posts as I know I can never change their views and I fully accept that .....great to hear your folio expanding......sound move..........keep posting........
More around people selling as they are confused about Barkby. As I believe I have researched in depth I am more relaxed to see how this pans out. Others are clearly frustrated. That indicates to me they have invested having looked top line.
Hi C1
Nothing for me to disagree with in your post ....just wondered what your penultimate paragraph meant?....can you elaborate? Thanks
Just to clarify......the research/ caution lines.....
Hi Fortitude,
I’m sitting here relaxed and looking forward to a company update. Barkby under Charles Dickson has never been purely about pubs or cars. Small parts of the pie.
CSS and Vivoplex are solid investments which will deliver. No doubt there will be more and I anticipate Alex Snow being involved.
At the risk of being boring anyone looking at who holds the shares in this company would imho come to the conclusion there is more to this than at first glance. I get investors caution but you need to research a little deeper at times.
I have also added more Ironveld roughly matching my investment in Kazera.
All 3 will pay off this year.
No bad thing to carry a fair stock of second hand cars as the public are buying them as they don't like traveling on London transport
CI...........a few more of your posts please to relieve the Covid monotomy..............
