So sorry to see the bad news today, not here to gloat, haven't held this share for about 10 years when it was approaching £2 per share Hylas 1 I think was going to be launched, anyway I didn't hold for whatever reason. But SXX has now caused Me pain !! I will never invest in these so called start ups ever again.
rum - they've alreadly lined up JP Jenkins to do this. Read the RNS, it's all there.
HIS - if you end up with a share certificate and you want sell later at some point , how do you know which broker deals in private companies ? Doesn't the Company have to register with a broker first before persons can use the matched facility trading platform .
Cheers HITs - you've been the voice of reason here, and its a shame that many sought to decry you rather than thinking through, and appreciating what you had to say. Good luck to you and your investments, and perhaps we'll meet again on another board...........
Well, it's the last day for anyone wishing to bail out of AVN, before the company goes private and the only way to trade shares will be via a broker-run matched trade facility. The end of an era, I guess.
To those who've taken a hit on AVN (as I suspect most have), I hope it wasn't too painful. To those brave souls who decide to hang onto their AVN paper as the company steams into private obscurity, your stubbornness has my respect - even if I'm not sure that your acuity does.
I also have some sympathy for Kyle Whitehill and the rest of the newish AVN BOD. They've tried to set a much more sensible strategy over the last 18 months - but sadly as anyone but the most swivel-eyed and foaming at the mouth zealot (GCCRa, anyone?) could quickly spot, the appalling, profligate and frankly scandalous mismanagement by the David Williams regime made this doomed from the off.
It is of course typical of AIM that DW walked out with many millions in his pocket (all of which must have been effectively siphoned out of investor-provided funding, since this outfit has never come anywhere close to turning a profit). It is of course equally typical of AIM that PIs are left holding the bag.
Sayonara all. It's been... real. (And unfortunately for many, horribly real).
Are u paying to sell shares worth under the fee just hold them you’ve lost enough
GCCRa - what did you sell yours for mate? Come on fella, where did you go? This Board just isn't the same without your mindless ramping, and I for one am saddened by its abscence.......:-(
The final little sting in the tail!! Unvbelieveable Robbie.
They were in an ISA so obliged to sell.
As the sale price was less than the dealing costs, it cost me £1.47 to get rid of them.
Oh the irony!
Hi Brad,
No I don't own them, the message said if I don't transfer them to certified form or sell them then on 11th they will be sold and I have the proceeds in my account. Its not much money anyway so not too worried, best of luck to all who are remaining in.
I’ve just rang Barclays and asked them to send me a certificate. They said that they will.
Just checked my portfolio and my Avanti shares are still present and correct sir!
I'd expect them to be transferred rather than sold, it will be interesting to what they do!
I expect it will screw my spreadsheet download and reorganise system :O)
My broker advised me they'd be transferred to JP Jenkins (thank god not D Williams, but another Welsh name) where the stock will continue to trade via a matched bargain facility. Event is manatory and effective from 18th Sept.
So you still own your shares and will hear from JP Jenkins in due course I expect! I hope!
Just checked my dealing account and it shows my AVN have been sold for me. They did warn me a week ago, but didn’t read the message though. i was planning on holding on but too late now. This was always a red or black gamble for me, and some I win some i don’t. Good luck to you all here.
...GCCRa, Whatsoccurring and the rest of the brain trust. Now I wonder why that is.......? :-)
I think this company will end up being owned by a government slush fund. I thought that as soon as the word "military" was mentioned.
To see someone poke their head before friday- watch this space
Disgusting to see this years bonuses are now pretty much the same as the market cap
the BOD are an absolute disgrace and should never be allowed general employment ever again they deserve to be sweeping roads
p...d
look you really need to do some research on de listed /ing companies
there are thousands over a five year period you can check out ..
I have got £4800 in this AVN.... SO that Become "ZERO" or any hope in future ?????
It's only about 7/8 years ago these were over £7+ each, what could have gone so drastically wrong?
I don't know the history but if it can go from that to this I wouldn't touch it....
I suppose there is the remote possibility that some time in the future, if things were to improve drastically for this shower of ****, given they're saving around a few hundred grand per year by delisting, and if business were to pick up rapidly, and massively then they could re-list, and re-emerge from the ashes?
Would anyone share my wild optimism here, anyone....GCCr are you still out there?
£270 used to get you a 100 shares or less not so long ago. Now it get's you about 90,000, LOL. That said, there are quite a lot more shares in issue these days as well!!
I am neither "ballsy" nor a day trader. I have just probably (or maybe not!!!!!) wasted circa £270 and topped up. You see I smell a rat here. After cancellation, perhaps there will be a share consolidation announced, to catch out any of the remainder small holders, perhaps 1000:1.
After that those big holders, will in due course, be offered effectively their money back via some sort of corporate action. With the no reporting requirement, none of this is known, BUT you are a shareholder still so you get to be part of the deal.. Now that more money has been saved since not part of AIM and some improvement in income etc. a sale will take place. perhaps the deal will be in shares in a listed company that takes on the assets.
I feel that this, or something like it , will happen in the next year. Sure out and out gambling. If nothing else they have to administer the share register and keep me in the loop, so I am being a small PITA.
Brave I am not, stupid perhaps? Well that is already proved by being a shareholder in an Africa orientated company! Afren, Lonrho Africa, Petrofac, Tullow, to name a few off the top of my head.
Good luck, thanks for the ride, it has been fun here.
Power, IMO that depends. There may well be a few ballsy day traders looking for a dead cat bounce and a quick in and out marginal gain (we've seen a few of those swings over the last week or so).
Ignoring the flippers having their fun, any remaining PIs looking to sell out may do so between now and COB on Tues 17th. We may see a final small rush for the door and a consequent dip before AVN delists... or maybe all PIs wishing to exit from this depressing pile of *** have already bolted, just leaving the very brave to soldier on into largely untradeable private land.
Mind you, it's not like the existing SP could get vastly lower...
News has now materialized , surely, the sp should at least be stabilized.
