Was on you tube & a Hylas 4 advert popped up. I'm liking dat shit
Yup. Results pretty much as expected, and I expect that to be repeated in the next set too. But when the deals dammed in pending Hylas 4 launch and confirmation of the financing deal are released, and begin to generate returns one can expect vastly improved numbers.
A bit pointless repeating them verbatim on the board here . . ..To see them just click on 'AVN, Live RNS' above! It doesn't take much to understand them, and after all it represents ALL that CASH you have invested . . SO MAKE THE EFFORT!! Briefly RNS 4373G at 1447 Announcing a General Meeting on 16 March 2018 see RNS for details. RNS 4542 at 1640hrs 2018 first half results - mentions compensation for late delivery of Hylas 4 ! . . interesting and informative reading . . . . for the literate few amongst us![:-o)
I think these figures were expected. The company is upbeat ... I fear that there may be a wee drop in the SP tomorrow a.m. but all okay for the future ... oh and a rocket launch! BB -- fortune favours the brave --
Lack of cash being a huge downside risk ,versus $1.2 billion of alleged assets . Will the bondholders remain strong . Your guess is as good as mine. Best of Luck All
Unashamedly plagiarised from Romaron's posting.....(Hope you don't mind too much).... "I've held this stock for some time and attended AGM's. It's probably easier to just post some of my own reasons for continuing to hold and topping up at bargain basement prices. 1. Africa promises growth hence the presence of Facebook & Google with drones and balloons. 2. The geopolitics of mass immigration to Europe from Africa & the charity failure increases the focusing of building companies and industries on the continent. 3. The biggest hurdle is about to be overcome: launch H4 around end of month. Satellite on site and launch subject to weather. 4. Top quality Chairman. 5. Replaced interim CEO with this man earlier this month https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqAwYpiF0yI 6. Willingness of bond holders to push project forward. 7. Share price irrelevant with spread and small (for AIM) amount of shares in public hands. 8. Ka Band value: last May Verizon paid up for Straight Path and its valuable trove of 28 GHz and 39GHz spectrum. 9. Recent purchase (b/b - transfer to ISA) by Technical Director. With what has been happening it has been impossible for Directors to BUY stock. Moving a holding to a more tax effective place is allowed. maybe small - but 20k is 20k and he spent 1600 to do it (see 7.) 10. Following a successful launch a torrent of contracts to be announced that are held back by the clause 'subject to a successful launch" I've nothing to add !
Still waiting to be broken convincingly. Nicely moving towards a more appropriate share price .
Yes GCCRa, I mentioned that back in December and others probably since. Earlier today posters wrote about the SP and the expected share dilution, seeming to imply wariness, the post responded to that.
like i always said poor old avn kicked bruised and battered stuck in the bottom of a draw and forgotten about, then one day someone noticed they are winning contracts slowly getting debt down paying less interest ,then a light bulb moment this company is still alive yes that's correct southstreet avn still has a pulse and who knows maybe by 2019 out of hospital and making a recovery
Laguerre, I think the related point that someone made a few weeks ago is that with Shares instead of Bonds the former Bondholders will have a real incentive to see the SP succeed not just the Company. With so little (Comparatively) of the Company's Capital tied to Shares they previously had no incentive to do that. Now they have. So one can naturally expect more positive input to boards like this - given the renewed vested interests. This is turning VERY VERY positive.
Nice try SS, but I think you'll find he made a loss on the transaction, not the other way around...
It would be a very daft stock market if the 'extra' share dilution is not already built into the current price, it is after all vis a vis exchange of the 'current debt holders' etc etc. So extremely unlikely the share price will be affected, certainly downwards, there may even be a marginal increase - signifying 'satisfaction' that the 'exchange' is succeeded! But just IMHO
Maybe he did that cos he suddenly realised after buying at 11p that he should get out and 10p was a cheap cut...;-)
Probably members of the de-ramping cartel....Luckily now....The Truth Is Out There. Onward and upward !
From the RNS: " David Bestwick, Technical Director of the Company, sold 200,000 ordinary shares of 0.01 each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 10.35 pence per share, and repurchased 200,000 Ordinary Shares at a price of 11.15 pence per share, in order to transfer the shares between legal holdings. There is no change to the total number of shares held by Mr Bestwick as a result of these transactions." Could be transferring them into an ISA or a SIPP. Sounds like some selective reporting as it missed out key information that was available in the announcement.
To put in an ISA maybe or realise a capital gain this year
OK, I am now questioning my own post. According to the FT David Bestwick bought 2 x 100,000 shares at 11p on 26th Feb. He then sold those shares for 10p on the same day. Why would he do that?
Great day though. Enjoy the big sp jump.
How many years has Africa been the 'next big thing'? It is usually money down the drain to invest in potential as few projects come through, especially in a febrile region like Africa where corruption is rife. Latency means that satellites can never compete with fibre but we should remember that this is a part of the world where fresh water and metalled roads are rare or kept in good condition outside of cities. Laying fibre may end up fencing a vegetable patch or used to tether a goat! Maybe google balloons will work or facebook drones but what Africa needs is basic infrastructure and whilst some seem to consider satellite old technology we do know that it at least works. Europe fears immigration from Africa and one of the ways to stop it is to give the countries the tools to become independent by driving down unemployment and grow their own industries and companies. Throw in the criticism charities are now receiving and foreign aid will become more focused. It will happen because first world countries see growth in Africa and self-interest has always been an important driver. I don't know if Avanti will be at the forefront but the timing of this launch couldn't be better imo.
mathsman, do you know when (if) this swap is expected and how many more shares are expected in the dilution. with thanks, BB
Just like you would love to see 60p again but remember, there will be many more shares in issue if/when the swap is complete.
I've been clinging to this for far longer than I should have, with recent top ups my break even is just on 50p. Actually starting to feel optimistic again!
Still weeks from launch but if news follows soon for an agreement on the share offer etc im calling the 60p mark by launch as that was the price prior to major refinancing needed.
I think it was 2 days, not uncommon as we home in on the date for weather (or optimal) conditions to disturb the exact date by +\- days... say all is good right now - no concerns other than the share price is still far to low
