In terms of how much the UK government would spend on rapid identification of a test a relevant bench mark would be the £10B on track and trace.
At £10 a test Avacta could provide the UK with (um, er, carry one, um)....
ONE BILLION mwaaaah
Or about 15 tests for everyone.

I have posted this link before, but the reason for reposting tonight is so that all tonights posters/bb readers are aware of the technology described within this article dated July 22 2020. "The test has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration yet, but the team has submitted paperwork via the agency's Emergency Use Authorization program. The team is also working with the state to carry out further validation tests locally and, pending those results, expedite regulatory clearance for use in Colorado".

I know we are weeks away in the UK for a launch.
Stock market rules, we have to declare interests to market first.
What about Cytiva are USA rules the same.
I only ask have you seen how close Cytiva HQ and BBI Solutions USA plant are in the States.
Could these of been working together for months over there. Very Interesting.
Wrong on pretty much all counts bar one jimboooo
Xxxyyyyzzzz, you've gone from your "this is beyond a joke " post Big Als a bstard on Wednesday to crazed fda nailed on ramptastic :)
For what it's worth not sure it will be us getting fda approval just yet, but who knows stranger things have happened.
Sorrento Therapeutics (NASDAQ:SRNE) rose another 32% after more than doubling on Friday after its experimental antibody candidate showed potential in blocking COVID-19 infections in early studies.
No chance of FDA approval for the spit test, that's still weeks if not months off. Avacta and cytiva haven't even finished developing it yet, let alone had it clinically validated. Even then it will only be for professional use, not for home use which is where the money is.
And Sorrento have their earnings announcement tomorrow...
At Illumina, we’re committed to unlocking the power of the genome, and we know we can’t do it alone. Illumina Accelerator is our way of accelerating innovation in the entrepreneurial community. With extensive mentorship, financial support, and access to sequencing systems, reagents, and lab space, we are building a dynamic ecosystem to help genomics startups launch in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Cambridge, UK. Together, we'll advance breakthrough applications in genomics, including therapeutics, diagnostics, agriculture, synthetic biology, forensics, and direct-to-consumer applications.
Sorrento currently up 30%?

This is what the FDA says in their latest announcement:
FDA Commissioner Stephen M. Hahn, M.D. “The recommendations provided today are intended to help get tests to market that are simple enough to use at home, similar to a pregnancy test. We hope that with the innovation we’ve seen in test development, we could see tests that you could buy at a drug store, SWAB YOUR NOSE or COLLECT SALIVA, run the test, and receive results within minutes at home, once these tests become available. These types of tests will be a game changer in our fight against COVID-19 and will be crucial as the nation looks toward reopening.”
Now, I have read a couple of academic articles from the Journal of infection that showed saliva as the best way to identify an asymptomatic or symptomatic case. To pick up the virus from your nose comfortably may not get the results you need and their clinical trials may lead to a failure. They are risking it in my view (good for us).
And now that we know it is nasal but saliva test that we watched on CBS it is definitely not erasure.
Come on avacta.
Ok i did it for you. No charge but maybe an apology for Canute....
Scott Gottlieb, MD (@ScottGottliebMD) Tweeted: This simple, accurate saliva test could soon be first test authorized for asymptomatic screening and may be lowest cost test to hit market with ability to be pooled. It’s independent of supply chains. Runs in 2 hours. Owes to work of NBA, Yale docs, others https://t.co/h2bMJjdjSJ https://twitter.com/ScottGottliebMD/status/1292267946920812544?s=20
If Canute takes that course will you take the course on scrolling down the guys other tweets - you will see he mentions it later.
Cytiva and/or pregnancy style was mentioned?
Just for info
The company cruiseliverpool.com has just followed illumina??
Any connection?
The other link,I picked up illumina.
On Twitter when you follow someone it goes to the top of your followers list, Avacta only started following Illumina in the last few weeks.Scott Gottileib on their board.
Another very interesting one is their last follow Thomlinsonlabs they are doing all the affirmers In the cancer cells for Avacta.
Read last tweet and follow the thread talking of discovering “ Holy Grail “ for cancer.
