Just had an idea... how many in % would Amigo 2.0 need so any further attempts of JB to launch a takeover would be futile? I don't why, but since I read that in Company News on the HL page, this is what I keep thinking. There is a battle going on :-)
Mouse, I think you make a very good point. GJ made reference to sitting with the call taking team and listening to what the customers had to say. This will have also given him a prime opportunity o listen to how his own people talked to the customers. In contrast to JB , GJ oozes professionalism.
I think the planned right sizing may be the opportunity you allude to to also take out those that don’t meet his expectations.
Oh, Franky... an let's not forget JB. He tried twice to force his way on board, sack the current one and planned to combat the complaints (stand up to FCA) which is not a great idea, if you ask me. It might be that GJ wanted everybody laid off who were loyal towards JB. If I was him, I would have cleared them out on the first possible occasion and perhaps this occasion came now ;-) .
Sounds right Mouse..!am also thinking two signals here. 1. Complaints to go through SOA and therefore complaints handlers en masse not required and 2. Some level of clarity from FCA has happened in terms of how much business they can write up when the final approval comes. for Amigo 2.0. Making people redundant is expensive so I think the above would have informed a difficult decision. More positive breadcrumbs on trail.
Franky, the fact, that Amigo is NOW letting 70 go and not months ago leads me to speculate that a thorough internal investigation has taken place. If Amigo let them go to save money, they had more reason to do that a long time ago instead of now.
Franky... we don't know who the 70 are ;-) perhaps the ones that ran Amigo into the situation in the first place ;-)
the 70 people being made redundant is a sign that future lending will at least be more gradual to start with - doubtless to bed in new processes and products and to ensure ops resilience etc before scaling up at end of year.
Franky ;-) (hehehe :-P )
Erm Mouse..uncanny...do you have a spycam???
Franky wants to be called Grace? I hope he doesn't start wearing a pink tutu, purple stilettos and a unicorn hair band :-)
Steve, i like that better than Grace
Franky, he is now the Special One.
Step aside Jose.
12.90 to buy and 12.52 to sell right now (H&L)
franky - your Grace lol
The problem with the word 'sanction' is that most people associate it with something negative. It's the politicians fault and they are doing that on purpose ;-) e.g.: "...sanctions against Russia.." ;-)
Am happy to refer to GJ as 'his holiness' going forward.
LTL and also 'to sanction' is something holy. Here, from an online dictioniary:
"Sanction comes from the Latin ‘sanctio’ which derives from ‘sancire’ meaning ‘to ratify’ and dates from the late 18th century. It was originally used with regard to ecclesiastical degrees."
Ashb... well, isn't it? The word that hinted for me towards that was 'sanctioned', but perhaps I'm reading to exact, English not being my first language. You see.. I'd never have used the word 'sanctioned' if I wasn't sure the outcome of a decision was positive for me.
Me although I sold yesterday when they said they won't have fca decision before May and wish I waited until today. I've been in since oct. My thinking was that sp will drift towards this point. Fca is not 100%. Once 100% ill join at a higher speed and zero risk. I could be wrong will wait and see
12.80 to buy right now on H&L account :-) Looks like we could break the 13 today
