Yes, I know it's obvious but it's August and much of Europe simply shuts down for the holiday period. It strikes me that it's unrealistic to expect any corporate action for Amerisur in the next several weeks. And that's compounded by low oil prices. This may simply be a time for doing nothing and letting events unfold.
No harm in top slicing but I've added more and think 17.5-18p gives great value vs wider market. Many tranches now from as high as 19.25 to as low as 11.80 and not fussed if a deal done now or keep adding for longer term value. Wouldn't be surprised to see some delayed sales later, but happy to continue to accumulate below 18p. My target was always 32p but anything over 24p I think would be considered, but think 26-32 is where it will be struck. If no recommended deal then possible hostile? . I hope it's not on the cheap as been adding for nearly a year and happy to add for longer to see a decent return on investment. Personally think end of month or 1st week would be best opportunity for competitor/predictor to buy with global /currency issues being factored in.... Best of luck
I agree with FTM
But am I right in assuming that the MMs are happily gobbling up all these shares at any price - well, any price as long as it suits them? OK, so they make a turn on every deal but however many R&M want to sell, they snap them all up. Apart from the turn, are they simply stocking up for a much bigger profit in a few days time when more buyers appear?
I read nothing into this except (1) Market vol has spooked some investors who continue to top slice (2) Lack of concrete news (3) market makers trying to drum up trade
Thanks willec .
Stop been a whopper Wolster .
Wolster - everyone started sometime including you. Remember that
Looks like it. In my view the narrow the spead with momentum the better, I would however feel more confident at 20p, where we were last year, early this year.
Lol, I’m new to this and trying to learn as much as I can , sorry mr know it all .
F M its like having a kid on the back seat saying are we there yet.
Just chillout nothing being added to these boards except histeria atm.
Ah ok , are we in a good place then atm ?
Narrowing the spread occurs when a potential buyer is willing to pay more for a security, when a potential seller is willing to accept less, or both. Narrowing the spread often occurs during a period of high trading volume. It may also lead to increase as pressure to buy on the market due to demand.
I’m new to this willed , could you explain ??
Slowly getting narrower, maybe ready to squeeze to push into the 18ps, closer to 19ps
Another 8.3
Are we likely to have a similar day tomorrow?
Why is up and down like a *****s knickers ?
Been a lot of work on L2 with orders, could be getting ready for news early next week?????
What is happening today . Can someone enlighten me please .
For 24p and exit. Could be waiting longer than I had hoped.
That’s if we have a offer
Hermes have bought now sold.
All this is to be expected as is the wobbling SP, news on any offer or the million to 1 shot, operational progress, will move the SP appropriately, 1p, 10p, 20p, whatever and none of this will matter.
Hermes now
As someone just said it depends on Viewpoint and we all have different viewpoints and objectives - not everyone feels Amerisur is a great buy or hold for instance.
Which brings me to River & Merc - someone has just said " are river and Merc selling out now because they don't think any meaningful offer will materialise and the SP is at a ceiling"
Even in respect to that statement there is a huge Viewpoint related error - R&M are not necessarily selling out, they are selling down and god knows what their reasoning is, it maybe to reduce risk or exit the sector, liberate cash to buy something or even tell a potential bidder to approach them! It tells us nothing about what they eventually expect to get for their holding.
IMO anyone for off is best encourage to sell and gone, the more remaining shareholders with high expectations the better change of pushing for a great offer price, unless you are for selling out yourself you are not being hurt be their activity.
Turning to ONGC and their Viewpoint, everyone needs to realise they are having all sorts of problems in loads of places with Colombia representing one of the bright spots - forced to buy an India peer at an inflated price, systematically forced to stump up spare cash to the Indian government, pressured to sell down shares in their businesses to provide more cash to India, not paid in Venezuela, hit with a huge fine in Russia, committed to high investment, some faltering projects around the globe the list goes on.
I don't think the above is conducive to them getting on with exploration on CPO-5 (not withstanding they appear unless in any case) or making a bid.
I do not believe they will be the likely buyers of CPO-5, hope I'm wrong and the push hard though, my opinion is it will be any of or combination of: Geo Park. Ecopetrol and Parex.
Took another look Jeremy Coller yesterday to see any other oil related links and maybe get a feel for his viewpoint, noticed his group had gone into business with Shell in the past, that's all I found wrt oil. But much more interesting is his environmental stance. Read a Forbes article citing his pressure group FAIRR of 80 major investment entities and I mean massive $12trillion - that's not a typo and dwarfs just about anything I've come across (6 times UK national debt). The guy is well connected to say the least, however, the group is pressuring for responsible meat production/land use etc and IMO it provides ample explanation of why he would be frustrated and want out of Amerisur and not wish to be identified as a shareholder (could look hypocritical to some to be exploiting a pristine rainforest). My view is he is highly unlikely to increase his interest and will have told GC what he wants - I suspect Michinoko could be insiders. Is there a listing anywhere?
Rivers last sale 155,800 shares is negligible compared to their total holding of 68,392,124 shares. They are playing with the market. Maybe they are trying to lower the price in order to buy in bigger later, maybe too obvious, just a thought.
Cheers for the responses. It's definitely an interesting time both good and bad. It seems river and Merc have been selling for ages. I know they had a huge holding, but it would be great to get s comment from them. Or understand thier motives.
