I would expect dividend to be scrapped.
Well we knew that we were on for material below expectations. but we didn't know about the 2.8m impairment charge. When is the dividend being paid?
Anyone got a significant holding like over 100,000 shares?
wont make any impact especially if they get a better replacement in. Lets face it go into their stores now like I have on about 8 and you can see that business is strong, the gear is getting sold and fast and its also very desirable. My wife and her friends don't shut up about Laura Ashley.
A shame that she has gone, we are left with mainly foreigners now. Not looking good.
Big buy orders on the bid now. Really looking highly likely for a very good run back to 20p
big upside here.
Three signs. 1. The number of store and on-line discounts at Laura Ashley are reducing. Are ALY winding back discounts, because sales are picking up? 2, The ALY catalogue came through our post box today. It was very good and felt quality (when companies are struggling the go thin and cheap - this was far from it). 3. We ordered a tripod lamp earlier this week. It still hasn't arrived. When I called, the lady said they are experiencing high volumes at the moment. It will be in store by the weekend. High volumes? Sounds positive. I think we will see some positive movement in the SP when the next RNS is issued over the coming weeks.
Due to the current demand in sales deliverys are over 10 days waiting
This was based on many different levels but the main one was my magical mystical seaweed liked it Regards
Brave. Is your move based on any particular knowledge/information source?
Really? Is this a better prediction than your takeover one a month ago?
Oh well jumped in today,i think this will be rising back nice and steady with dividends and a nice discount on purchase for shareholders win win win GLA
Any day now
Choo gone. LA next ?
Wow something about to blow upwards
There have been a couple of people here bigging things up here foe a while, good luck to you but looking back at past threads no one has predicted correctly so I would be very wary about acting on anything here. True that the long downslide has reversed slightly but has anyone got authenticated company news/inside info?
Hmm, depends if you think that going from 30p to 11p over three years is reasonable/acceptable. I've had shares in this company for well over 10 years and it's been a dismal ride. The problem as I see it is that when you look into the stores there is no stand out USP to draw people in, a bit hash maybe, but they all look a bit like glorified charity shops with everything jumbled up so much that you can't really get a grip on how they see themselves in the marketplace. As I said I think they need to think back to what made them so successful way back and different.
I feel the Malaysian owners have done more than a reasonable job, in difficult circumstances. Back in the 1990s the boardroom was a revolving door, and there were many changes in strategy and direction. The business was regarded as overly complex, involved in manufacturing and licensing and also in the US, a graveyard for British retailers. So now it is a simpler proposition for investors, the share price reflects sector malaise against bricks and mortar retailers more than anything about this brand.
God help us from more foreign intervention, the Malaysians have been useless, this company needs to re-invent it self and go back to it's roots with a defined English/British design emphasis and more English/British directors with a more even share spread, the time is right.
..... Future Group, India.
Who do you think would be interested in a takeover ? Or would it just be another Russian/Chinese billionaire buying up the owners stake so he can pay for his divorce ?
Much more to come and could be taken over shortly
Agreed the dark pools however you can see the clear distinction in change in the order book over the past 3 days. On the 10m auction trade at 9.66 the other day I bought 1.3m shares and since added quite a few more below 10p. The best opportunity to buy a big stake is the last auction of each quarter. They are normally exaggerated on most liquid stocks
Yes.... but the order book does not show “dark pools,” which are batches of hidden orders maintained by large players who do not want their trading intentions known to other traders. The presence of dark pools reduces the utility of the order book to some extent, since there is no way of knowing whether the orders shown on the book are representative of true supply and demand for the stock. Manipulation can cause the SP to swing dramatically..... then swing dramatically back, as we are about to see here - to 20p imho.
