Indeed... and value based investors (like Berkshire Hathaway's famous founder) have long proved that they can significantly outperform the market by buying stocks at less than their intrinsic value and holding them long term.
With respect the market doesn’t agree at the moment
The gamblers should go and back another horse. The sensible and educated investors will believe there is significant long term value here but that value will only come through sales of the subsidiary companies. Not through the annual reports of the parent company. Neither from the six monthly report in June.
When someone comes sniffing around Federated or Spin comes out of stealth mode and shows it's true value, this will come good. Not before. This is definitely not one for day/week traders. Buy a lottery ticket instead.
I’ve made 25% profit over the last 4 days in other stocks. This seems a bit of a miss to me
If private equity made a bid then sat it out and used cash on balance sheet to support companies for next 2-3 years until full value realised they would make a killing over these low prices. Imo Dyor.
Even a 60% upside from these levels will be a good return imo the way markets are at inflated levels. This is a value play where the sum of the parts is worth more potentially. Just a bit disappointed never got more under 30p due to lack of funds at time.
I agree Federated wireless was awarded full certification in jan 2020 so any monies and device connection was not in yesterday’s results , but jan-June will be in the half yearly report usually in August patience is the key
If the valuation of ALM were accurate then waiting “years” for a “mere” 60% increase would be for a super investor, madness. Whilst I would, in ordinary circumstances, bite your arm off for a 60% rise, I think many people are missing the point. Alm have 3 disruptive technologies, these are not going to remain at their current value for the next few years they are going to rise possibly exponentially. The value attributable to spin, is at best a guesstimate, with the USA government effectively underwriting development costs, this will result in a multi billion$ company in its own right. There could well be opportunities to jump back on at lower prices, always a possibility, this train is definitely ready to leave.
