AGK could be a trade buy in front of the hurricane hitting US coast
Hi BB yes I also feel the strong dollar helps AGK whilst we await ACA's return. I see Stock Abc found an interesting article for Aca, good news hopefully over there too very soon.
HSBC raise recommendation from Hold to BUY.
Hi Dabbler, yes as sterling is falling this share is being helped as very much an international company. To be honest the Chairman's statements have in recent years been a little bit played down until now so he seems to have surprised everyone with his sudden uplift in stance and projected earnings. As he has always previously played it safe and has been very conservative with his comments, I believe his projections. I am sure the fund Managers will now have this share back on their pensions investment list for now too so it might have a little bit further to run.
Been watching this a while. Bought in this morning as the momentum does seem strong. If promises are held it should be good for the next five years.
Currently powering the Euro Olympics and now also awarded the Sept 2018 Ryder Cup Contract.
I see this share now returning to Financial Houses buy lists after the Chairman's statement of double digit mid teens growth earnings by 2010!!!!!
Uncrossed trade after Bell on books at £1.4million -woirht watching this one. Could be a fund manager as many are now in this share and they are covering it like a rash!
One to watch this one as underlying profit is increasing and mid teens % increases year on year expected by 2020 onward's. Looks like a very good share to own for a growth account.
Maybe this was the reason for the increase, and/or market correction, and /or early release of first 6 month figures? Time will tell but this share still has a long way to go.in recovery mode.
No idea why for the sudden rise today except it may be the results have gone out early to Brokers/ Corporate investors?
What with the winter Olympic figs being added in for the next results, just wondering if any Trump deal encourages growth for N.Korea will they need power? As Aggreko were out there for the winter Olympics this may help them for growth going forward in this developing market?
Sorry meant "Actually" and 2018 figs.
The Management are not reportiong 2018 income which already will be boosted by the Winter Olympics and Para Olympics where they are providing the power and from memory a 30m contract win. I cannot wactuaqlly wait for the Q1 208 figs which wuill be more inline with earnings!! If I was a shorter I would be quite worried as we approach Q2, as clearly Aggreko report in a safety mode as they will already be aware of the increased earnings for Q1. Lots of people up north also without power during the recent snow storm and thaw-an increaed bonus!
Orangetree......3 !!! What planet do you live on? I hooe your short is getting toasted right now.!!
Looking at Aggreko, and for those who study the long-term technical analysis chart (aka the monthly chart), the share price decline looked ran its course. 6 per share is looking like the bottom (I placed a 70% probability) if management outlook was to be believed. If the momentum indicators (aka RSI and MACD) makes new lows, Aggreko shares could target 3 per share. And surprisingly there are some factors to watch out for. The most obvious is Aggreko rising receivables, currently at over 44% of sales. Over a 20-year period, the average is around 26.6%. Clearly, Aggreko is booking sales more aggressively than in previous years. Next is the rise in borrowing in the past six years that have risen from 150m to over 700m. The rise in receivables and debt was part of the reasons for Carillion downfall, but luckily Aggreko doesnt have a pension issue it needs to worry about! So, will Aggreko be a great opportunity at 6 per share or 3 per share, read the research at http://bit.ly/2Fza4Na
Completely agree with you here. Hit it's new 8 year low which has buy written all over it. Up 40p already
Wow.......another rock solid company that has been trashed for no real reason. As they say, buy on fear and come back in a year. Added today at this bargain bacement. Along with CNA, PFC, NG. These are bargains not to be missed.
Interesiting rise just before the results in a couple of weeks. Why would tht be? Stomers in the Us? UK? and across Europe? Winter Olypmics income? Oil price rises for new Rig start ups? and ecven South Amercian ecomomies start to wake up. -HAPPY DAYS!!!
Aggreko was down due tthe effect of stronger sterling vs dollar. I wondered why the sudden fall last year on a day like today and spoke to the Companies press office who advised me of this, We need sterling to fall against the dollar for the income to be more reflective as most of the income comes in USD, so a fall means they earn less. However very soon the coffers wil be bouyed by the Winter Olypmics which is a very big win for them and I seem to remember this could be as much as $30 to $40m (from memory). They may also have business contingency insurance for non payment or for contract frustration so my feeling is not to panic. In fact I am hoping for a positive press release soon!
Just a thought - has the current weakness in the SP got anything to do with the possible demise of Carillion? I could easily imagine that CLLN might be a big customer of AGK for generator/power bank rental and if it folds there will be a rather large bad debt. Does anyone have any input on this comment? In any event, the AGK is nearing a critical point on the charts. If it closes below 760p or thereabouts, there will be a massive fall
There' only one quick fix at the moment and that's to cut the massive overheads that Agg carry. To many freeloaders in non value adding roles earning big spandulies.
This will be down to 5.85 in 6 mths .......... predicted 7.95 back in March just took a little longer to get there Events are good to get but there are not a SP mover Whats needed is Big Power Projects which is lacking Back in the day 2005 to 2012 when the SP was up up up these Projects were what made Aggreko rise The company was Buoyant with orders from all across the Globe , Times change and AGK is suffering for it
Bought some more shares today since these are now at around 8 year lows. There are a lot of sporting events next year for which Aggreko is providing power facilities - Winter Olympics, European sporting Championships in Scotland, Australian Commonwealth Games to name but a few. Not sure about the FIFA World Cup but they usually do something there. I think they also tend to provide facilities during U.S. elections and I believe that there are mid-terms next year. The company clearly offers geographical diversification and a decent well-covered dividend. DYOR
