Good to see the Non-Exec Chairman spending around £33k on more shares at 64.87p - he now has 20.39% of AEO:

In addition, on Tuesday Jonathan Curry declared that his position has increased to 3.78%, or 361,000 shares.
And thirdly, Alan Charlton declared that he'd also been buying and increased to 4.21%, or 401,130 shares. He's a long-term investor in AEO who's interviewed the CEO at Mello.
This is inaddition to the recent other non-exec director share buy. It would seem that insiders and those who know the company pretty well are happy to be topping up their already large holdings at these levels.
Well, H1 bad, H2 looking good....
With a £3.72m cash pile against the now £5.7m m/cap, and a £650k expected profit for H2 and overall £400k+ profit for the year AEO still looks good value, particularly with the optimistic outlook. But the MMs have of course marked down heavily anyway.
I've been buying some of these recently. My final buy appears to have perhaps cleared out some stock and caused a tick up?
AEO looks very cheap at these levels considering both the progress made and the NAV security of the cash pile, plus the opportunities both organic and inorganic offered by that cash.
I'm not expecting this H1 to offer fireworks against the prior year given the renewed H2 weighting due mostly to Cannes Lions in June, but the results should be good enough to prompt a re-rating from these levels given the confidence in the general outlook and the current rating.
I was very impressed by the presentation at MelloLive late last year, and also like the extremely clean accounts and straightforward strategy and US expansion.
Aeorema will be one of the companies presenting at MelloLondon. The event will take place at the Clayton Conference Centre, Chiswick on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th November. Beware
Nice award and nominations, I do wonder if AEO are going to spring a good surprise in their next trading update. Everything coming out of the company and its agencies seems overwhelmingly positive.
The real spread is actually a lot lower. Currently you can buy for 75 and sell for 71. Not bad for only £6m market cap
Still an off-puttingly horrible spread. Anyione else here?
Sorry for repeat post, I hadn't realised my 1st post today had been posted. Doh...!
Takeover bid for Arena today (ARE) at a 50% premium to last night's share price. This could have a positive read across to AEO. Their results are due out any day now. I see Alan Charlton has gone above 3% on 12th October. He appears on Mello frequently and he is a strong supporter of AEO. I have decided to 'dip a toe in' this morning. Horrible spread though! Come on AEO, you need an additional broker to help with liquidity....
I see Arena Events (ARE) have received a takeover bid from Theta Bidco today at a 50% premium to their closing share price last night. This could give a possible 'shot in the army boost to AEO's share price today. Also, I see Alan Chrarlton increased his holding above 3% on 12th October. (He has appeared on Mello Events evenings on several occasions singing the praises of AEO and is well worth following on there).
AEO have their final results out any day now. Probably why Alan Charlton topped up. Needless to say, I have just bought an entry position 1st thing this morning....
I'm surprised this hasn't gone up more than it has, but I'm sticking around for a while.
- expect a profitable 2021 H2
- expect a fantastic 2022 1st half of year
- only 3m market cap
- in excess of 1m cash
- expanding in the states
- new hires to support growth
- virtual events now a big thing since covid
- hybrid events
- directors are buying shares (03/08/21 RNS)
Well done all holders. That was about as positive an outlook as it could have been. Sadly, I sold in March at a small loss to buy elsewhere. That has gone down so lose:lose for me. Happy for all lth's on here though. Now a question of how high can it go.
GLA DJF
Ssshhhh... I'm still 10% under :-)
Big jump this afternnon. I see nothing to indicate the cause. Anyone have any insight?
Nothing really new in the RNS this morning. They could easily have combined it with the one from last week. Unless, they are trying to pump the price to do a placing. They do have cash for the time being but will that cash pot last with the new office, new recruits and sudden drop in income since March? Placing soon?
Interesting RNS this morning. No mention of what the cancellation of Cannes Lions Festival for 2020 and the impacts for the company. Previous update had informed us that they were hoping for it to he held in October but this is no longer the case. A loss that comes in lower than expected is always welcome and with the new acquisition, the mid to long term opportunities still look good.
After years of hovering around 30, now seeing a strong and steady SP rise. Not sure how high this might go but planning to hold. Wish I had a few more at my sub 30 average. GLA
Looks like... after the initial buys at over 30p today that then sold below 30p an hour later... full ask is now being paid :)
looks like you were wrong ;)
A little (!) short on details but positive.
All looks pretty good on first reading and increased dividend to boot. Will this reboot the SP? Soon find out.
