Ive been watching everyones opinions for weeks so here is mine.
The AA will sell regardless of price as I dont think they are in a position to refinance. Covid is im sure costimg them a fortune in outsourcing recovery work as I believe they cant put passengers in the vast majority of vans and only have a small number of trucks in comparison to transit style vans. I also believe they are using taxis to move passengers where possible and pushing patrols to breaking point in desperation.
Like I said this is only my opinion so don't shoot the messenger, Do your own investigating before investing heavily ..................good luck.
Results would say otherwise, but appreciate everyone is entitled to their own view/opinion.
The last trading results wouldn't show the huge impact that covid is having on the company now.
I don’t think you have any idea how it works , any offer has to go to the share holders to vote on . The AA as you put can’t just “sell at any price”.
Appreciate any opinions on here - only negligible point for me here is the roadside recovery aspect - following a supplier communication the AA sent to the industry all roadside breakdown vans are (Allegedly) equipped with screens and PPE so no passenger could be stranded at the roadside although I also believe they now carry a wider range of tools in a drive to increase roadside repairs % in line with a covid-related target increase
Hoping for a conclusion either way soon - having half my eggs in this basket meant ive missed A couple of boats id been eyeing up.
Hope everyone’s well. GLA.
As far as i know only the trucks have screens, most of the fleet are vans with trailers and i dont think any have screens but i am happy to stand corrected.
jpge...
I'm guessing suitors know the issues and also know how to correct them.
If, as I hope, the takeover happens' I suspect current leadership will be got rid of.
Clemoc, no offence intended but I break down on occasion after reading posts here and sometimes wish I could sit in the front seat of an abnormal VW Transporter with or without a mask!
Also need to consider that while covid may have some negative impacts through the precautions required it also benefits in some aspects. E.g significantly less insurance claims as people are driving less etc.
There isn’t much between these netting out hence why the guidance is pretty much in line with last year even through covid.
Agree with you Paulof2, but minds will be focussed on post Covid.
I won’t disclose who I work for on here but AA are a primary supplier of ours and the communication only came our thurs/fri so you may have well been bang on prior :) post covid is where the money and brains are at I believe though. Hoping to see a break of the 30p barrier Monday Close
Its against policy to carry passengers in the front seat, your not 2 metres apart for a start, that Patrol was breaking AA policy and maybe even breaking the law. There are no screens in the vans because we have to leave the van by the passenger door in Dangerous locations like motorways for instance. We still have the same rubbish tools we have had in years, anyhow you can have the best tools in the business but if you are not given time to fix then they become moot. Our PPE for covid is crap.
So apparently I dont know how it works but what I do know is the AA would accept a low offer just as i predicted.
No apologies needed
This will get accepted make no mistake about it. I know someone who works for the company and the company without finance backing can’t sustain the debt. If you think large shareholders will vote against this then think again. It’ll go ahead regardless of what anyone thinks
The share price show fly up if debt is cleared surely?
Could be win win situation?
SP in January around 60p pre COVID. This offer is awful.
If this is accepted then you will see it delisted. In two years it will be floated for at least £1.5. Per share.
It will be good for the company.
Not good for us shareholders. I’ll make a loss. In at an ave 85p as been in 4 years.
Agreed, I would be amazed if the BoD accepted an offer without having a very good idea wether it would be accepted or not. What PIs think is irrelevant we are a tiny amount of the shares held.
