Different projects in Alaska have different NPVs and Breakeven points depending on a number of factors including scale and location. Every NPV/asset sale figure has a significant back story which people need to understand before applying any read across. In the case of the Oil Search deal everybody references the $3.1 price but nobody mentions the $1.3 from the potential resource upside.
Art Bertman recently did some work based on the Aramco IPO prospectus and estimated they have a break even cost of ~$29/barrel, Saudi's fiacl break even is much higher. Therefore the good news as others have alluded to is oil is just not sustainable at these levels, it will go higher eventually.
reso 02:56, you seem to believe AIM listed shares are by definition penny shares. Take a look at boo boo, fevertree ..... companies of their stature are responsible for the figures you disingenuously quote.
There is potential with 88e for a big gain OR a big loss at this point ie speculative rather than investment. Institutional Investors generally don't gamble! It's that simple.
You think, dont you mean you hope, however your incorrect thinking
Why do people waste time posting rubbish
But not today unfortunately
I think news will release today 7am in U.K.; that’s how 88E work. They usually release drill result in U.K. first. It happened in Winx and also IW.
Institutions are usually investing in the companies with market cap of over GBP 150m and also depend on risk.
Institutions invest on level of risk, not on share price. They often go hand-in-hand, as penny stocks are frequently higher risk because they’re not producing and therefore not bringing in revenue and/or profit (which is why they are penny stocks).
spikeup, thanks!
SeaHawk... "Come on Reso institutional investors don’t invest in penny shares, you know that."
Really? Not all penny shares, but you maybe interested to learn:-
Blue Chip investment management, pension and insurance funds dominate the list of top 30 investors in London's AIM but the overall market consists of 44% institutional investors and 56% retail investors.
… and as for "Ignore Reso he is a complete ass at the best of times."
Caught a nerve by any chance? Something to do with being right on 'AST' for the past four years, whilst you got it so wrong.
A typicaly flippant response from you, followed by an attempt to discredit. Was it really called for?
I only posed a question... you need to do more research.
spikeup, welcome, I raised this question when DJW lost his T20 position and was informed as you have stated. With one addition he is a good egg! as we say in old blighty.
I'm a former director of a dissolved company, we sold out to another company and dissolved the original one as it was no longer needed. Some dissolved companies have failed, but some are dissolved due to retirement, others so entrepreneurs relief can be crystallised, others if they are no longer needed if there has been a buyout.
PMO is ready to commence spud producer well in Solan Oil field, rig is at site. Seems they are not concerned with oil prices, no liquidity or capex issue. All good for Alaska project as well.. (from twitter)
11:54 thanks Spike, Yes we are in for some definition I think :-))
stay safe and stay healthy.
Hi there Brom, and thanks for the affable welcome...I know you from the 'HotCopper' board where I read your dependable
overnight summary of the LSE action.
Big few days approaching for the 88'ers...very defining moment arising from the Wireline results.
Welcome to the LSE board.
Must admit I have a couple of questions for the original poster.
1) What does the nationality of a poster have to do with their bona fides.
2) "a former director of a dissolved company registered in the UK."
Sure I can find in a Companies House search but...
Do you know it's the same person, names are rarely unique, but in any case companies fail sometimes through no direct fault of investors, will many in near future I am sure.
Hi there folks. First post here on this board - reserve my discussion for the Aust 'HotCopper' forum.
Reso, just to quell the T20 holder mystery that you refer to in your post, at number 20 is a Melbourne (Aust) based
fellow private investor - I know him very well.
Well reso, DJW must be in the same boat as the Greek national who knocked him off the number 20 position on the list a while ago.
Come on Reso institutional investors don’t invest in penny shares, you know that. Our investor is PMO to the tune of 23 million or 2.3 billion shares if you like which is a quite an investment.
… why no institutional investors?
Top 19, all nominee accounts and at number 20, one private investor, a Greek national with 40+ million shares, a former director of a dissolved company registered in the UK.
Maybe he knows something the institutions don't... or just another big 'AIM' gambler?
