i wonder if they are aiming to pursue directors only, or
if they will also prosecute any (possible) shadow directors.
they are investigating for one due to false information provided in a number of RNS statements - this has already been proven and what triggered the FCA investigation. The FCA now what to hear from shareholders who bought on the back of these false claims. Which is pretty much all of us. With our witness statements, along with other evidence there should be enough for a court case against the directors. If convicted there is then a case for compensation to shareholders.
manifesto - yes the FCA have the details of some shareholders, provided by a variety of brokers. These are shareholders who still had shares following liquidation. i do not know of any further criteria as to why some have been contacted by the FCA investigator whilst others haven't.
An excerpt from my email:
The FCA is investigating WRN on suspicion that between 2010 and 2016 they may have made several false or misleading statements to the market, concealed material facts and engaged in a course of conduct that created false or misleading impressions.
I then spoke to the FCA myself who confirmed that the investigator who sent the email works for them and they also confirmed all of his contact information. As such I have agreed to participate.
RIP WRN/WHET and best left at that.
Spikey...I am trying to establish if the FCA are contacting
Privare Investors...that would be a significant development.
We know they are looking into AE..A lot of nonsense gets
posted on here, I am looking for something to verify
that PI's are being asked for information..and as yet
only had vague responses that do not provide
anything of substance...I was just making the point
that HL one of the major brokers had not contacted
me, so I find it hard to believe other brokers have
contacted WRN holders on behalf of the FCA.
manifesto, i made no comment whatsoever
re HL investors. not sure what your point is.
if you are a WRN holder via HL, and you want to
contribute to the FCA investigation, nothing to
stop you contact them directly whether or not
they write to you first? my previous post simply
noting, public knowledge for long time now that
FCA were investigating, even AE admitted that.
Nothing received here.
Stay safe and well.
Spikeyj FCA have no idea how to contact HL holders unless
HL pass on that info...they cannot legally do that without
permission from each individual holder...I would like to
know from anyone who has been contacted how that
has been possible...nonsense posts in response are
really not helpful...investors have lost money..
so please do not bother to reply unless you have
relevant information..TIA.
Happy, chilled and investigated...
Manifesto 19:55: “If there is a genuine FCA investigation ...”
manifesto, surely there’s no ‘if’ needed? even AE himself
confirmed long ago that the FCA were investigating - the
more important question is what it is leading to... some of
the enthusiasts have tended to claim that the FCA started
investigating because they had been told porkies by others.
Many Thanks!
LEFKOSIA
Surely your broker would need your permission to pass on
your details so you either know that or you don't?
If there is a genuine FCA investigation then all sahreholders should have
an opportunity to be involved..if you held on suspension then you have
lost your investment....Please can those who hav been contacted let
other shatreholders know what you did to enable the FCA to get in contact..
M
I believe through mmy broker ii
I've had nothing from HL.
Please can those who got the e mail confirm how FCA had your details??
I bought my shares through HL like many others..but I have not
had any communication... Many Thanks!
yes. It is genuine. FCA are wanting to secure enough evidence for a court case against the directors. They have access to the details of everyone that purchased WRN shares and are looking for witness statements as part of the evidence. eg were we compelled to purchase based on the attractive contents on the RNS.s that were released. Many lies have already been unearthed in those news releases, hence fraud and for those that purchased shares, having believed the news to be true, the FCA would like to know about it as part of their case.
yes genuine. I contacted FCA directly having received the email and they confirmed. I have also since spoken with Simon.
yyes
Hi, I also received an email... genuine or note?
So today I have been asked for a witness statement for the FCA investigating WRN. Have others also received this?
