Think I’ll give this a miss, expensive for over £30bn debt!
Pray that rates don’t go higher folks, really pray

Actually, the higher inflation goes, the better it is for Vodafone, with its long term fixed coupon debt being inflated away nicely.

Global prospects might be looking a lot better in a year's time. VOD is definitely a medium term investment. I won't be downsizing my holding at all until we reach 95p.
What a heap of junk. Cant believe big investors are still with the same team who are running this into the ground
What a joke.
Yes Jax, one only needs to look at your posting history to see how far off the mark your predictions are, its embarrassing.
We still wait for 60p you promised weeks ago, and I think we wont give a second thought to your feelings about the mcap.
The massive over-exuberance of the first decade where they priced in all of the upside without knowing the cost of building each new generation of infrastructure and the cost of the licences.

It’s badly run, the customer service offering needs massive investment and it’s awash with debt.
I think the worst is behind them though and that this will turn quite violently at some stage - albeit I’m not thinking we’re at or I’m even trying to find the bottom. Interest rates peaking and then reducing will see this re-rated as a minimum.
Happy to build and add incrementally from here so not worried if it drops some more - or goes up..
If the guys who seem to only invest in high yield, very low risk shares, with huge growth potential and zero debt could share the picks on here, I’m sure we’d all be grateful.
£20bn mcap does seem massively high for Vodafold
Maybe without the debt
I suspect we’ll test the new lows in the next few trading days
'Anyone know where I get a broad global footprint with great in country reach and maybe regulated to ensure all citizens can have access to the internet so there is kind of natural moat. Happy to spend $30Bn, $40Bn or even $50Bn if I can also get into emerging economies like Africa too.'
JB, you would be hard pressed to find a better opportunity than Vodafone. Good luck with BoD.
Terry, don't invest and just move on then.
Not your cup of tea.
I don't think anyone has ever been in any doubt whatsoever about the future importance of 5g,6g etc.
the only thing in question here is how rewarding this share will be for investors, this has been on a downward ski slope since 2018, will it still be an under performing share over the next 5 years that's what we don't know ?
good chance that maybe this will get back a £1 at which point i expect a lot of you new guys here who bought in low will be looking to take a profit, beyond that who knows
Hi, its me again, Jeff Bidet of Amazing.com.
You may remember I got caught out launching a mobile service for my premium customers and I realised I needed a network to provide the service which I dont have, DOH!. Well, I lost those slides and managed to present an AI opportunity to the BoD for a genuine people personality application. Now they have asked for an update on my genuine people personality application, timelines, go to market and all that kind of thinking. Unfortunately, I realised that this thing called 5G might actually be the thing I need to get parcels from warehouse to the customer using optimal routing and location techniques. Apparently robots with genuine people personality will need access to a secure radio network to take instruction in either american english or chinese. All these dependencies on a radio network are starting to make me look foolish in front of the BoD, and its looking like a 5G network. TBH, I thought all this stuff was free plug and play and all you can eat. Turns out, radio spectrum investment is quite expensive and installing masts and transponders up and down and across a country is more than 5 minute job and the traffic on the network needs to be managed throughout the day too.
Can anyone help with next steps. The BoD are getting really impatient now and I am caught in a loop of some kind that I cant get past unless I urgently buy a network and prioritise my business traffic over everyone elses. Anyone know where I get a broad global footprint with great in country reach and maybe regulated to ensure all citizens can have access to the internet so there is kind of natural moat. Happy to spend $30Bn, $40Bn or even $50Bn if I can also get into emerging economies like Africa too.
Thanks in advance
JB
Some might say that's what Vod have been doing these past years and why so much capex has been spent building the infrastructure for 5g that other networks will have to rent the usage of.
This is definitely a few years play but once the infrastructure has been built, assuming people stop burning them to stop covid :O , the debt will start dropping pretty quick here whilst margins jump.
In mean time the market cap is pretty close to net tangible assets so you are getting all future growth for free plus being paid 5%+ a year to wait.
Seems pretty decent deal
Both are big and worthwhile to society. Question is can VOD capitalise on a 5g boom without doing a VOD.
'Many people expect the widespread adoption of 5G to have a more profound impact on their day-to-day lives than Artificial Intelligence (AI), despite the latter filling headlines these days.'
