Not sure we are the right people to ask. Our investment in MODE has been nothing short of a disaster. VELA invested a total of £316k in MODE and the value of the investment at suspension was just £13k. I would suggest anything over this would now be considered a bonus but likely not going anywhere and written off.
?
#firstname ...not the future ,i stated the present ...i dont have a crystal ball
Jeez louise JN really knows how to pick em! Didn't Vela accidentally invest £300k in this lot - what on earth did they do in terms of due diligence? At least it was (ironically) enough for them to cover their fine for misleading investors
"Marcus Nicholls, another retail investor, told City A.M.: “I don’t trust the directors at Truspine.”
“These directors misinform the market at every opportunity; about financing that never arrives and FDA approval that never comes,” Nicholls claimed. “Norman Lott and Laurence Strauss have to go.”
Aquis has previously penalised the company for misleading the market. The firm was fined £215,000, part suspended, in August last year after the exchange found it had misled investors about securing a loan, which had a charge over its assets."
Your abilities have extended to forecasting the future? Hahaha
In the news!

First time over the 8 ema since 18/3/25
Yes, CDT sticking above 3.15 now with some reasonable small afternoon volumes. Very quiet during the East Coast AM .
Some west coast buying maybe?
I think a few things point to a possible ( and well overdue) re rating.
I feel weirdly optimistic. OMG did I really say that!
Also, we are actually in profit on our Covid trial via CDT, just.
Now up over 500% from years low
TSP/ENET/CODE/MWE and SKL also up significantly on year lows.
VELA currently at all time low. Doesn't really make sense....?
……over 6 months!
Sorry couldn’t resist.
Forgive me.
I would also expect intergrity from the people employed too manage our money. That's why I asked how their friend Laiker managed too sell at double the SP we could sell for. It stunk at the time and although a while ago still leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.
I am probably completely wrong as I would imagine they will just keep selling our investments too keep the lights on and make sure there is enough in the bank too pay their wages.
Either way the SP is at a all time low and somebody is selling large chunks on a regular basis.
Yes not for smartphones. I realised you meant our board and stick with my question/comment. If any board did as you describe any excluded holders would have a case to consider action. Whatever we think of the investment decisions I think we should assume expect/assume integrity.
The whole recent and distant history with Mr Laiker and Vela seems too comp,ex for me to fathom.
But like you I’d love to be offered 0.04 for my holding. I’d even accept 0.039😀
Sorry for the Typos. Shocking spell checker on my phone and the video ad keeps popping up, almost making this site unusable.
Sorry too clear things up by "our clowns". I am referring too Brent and JN. They emoyed thete mate who held a considerable amount of Vela shares, Laiker. He was then allowed too sell his shares at 0.04p, double the SP at the time. No explanation given and apparently legal.
I am suggesting that they are aware of something that is about too happen, ie a placing or something else that may mean the SP plummets further. They have again tipped of one of their friends too this and this is the reason for the 150 million share sales.
I am only guessing and know nothing more than any of you. Whoever is selling may just need the money. I did however exchange emails with our BOD about the Laiker sales at the time and the answers stunk.
Simple as that……
Think of it as an alcohol free trip to the casino :)
Reply to Unclejim….
“Our clowns” would have literally no reason to talk the price down or encourage sells. I’m assuming you are being a bit flip?
The drop to 11/12 certainly encouraged some nice spring sale purchases. Let’s hope they do not turn out to be last seasons fashion. The big dumps are a concern or a sign. The portfolio is likely worth about 0.025 without doing too much analysis and if there is ever to be CDT news then it will likely move a lot and we can move a little.
Aim market is completely dead not just vela no liquidity , nerves a go go but the investments on 75% of the stock are good investments in my view and solid,it’s if people can hang around and wait for confidence to come good, someone with vision and deep pockets could buy this for more than double the share price and still be sitting pretty in another couple of years, lets see aye we could all be vaporised in another 6 months!!!
I hope you’re right – although I’m as sick to death of watching this hit new low after new low as everyone else I don’t really believe the BoD are sat drinking tea and looking out the window, they’ve got to have some kind of plan in place or be working towards something don’t they? Surely? That thing where they nearly got hold of 15 million quid does at least show they’re doing something even if it didn’t come off that time. Maybe they’re approaching other parties with deep pockets to drum up some £ to spend? God knows the current investments aren’t going to provide it.
This AIM market lots of misinformation to sway you one way or another, something stirring that’s for sure
Yes my top up the other day looks even more foolish now. I would imagine whoever is dumping has been advised by our clowns that the SP is about too get even lower.
These 100/150mil dumps have been a feature of the last few weeks as someone with a substantial holding makes an exit - it's surely stopping any chance of any sort of tick up even if the CDT price did take off - which it shows absolutely no sign of doing
Yeah some chunky trades going through. Especially as there was only £25 worth or trades yesterday. Unfortunately another decent sell of 150m shares doesn't bode well
Unusually large trades for Vela, what going on?
