The UK has loads of refineries... Our oil will be in safe hands... It might just need to be taken there by tanker :)
That’s the point there is no infrastructure for crude oil...only refined products
Whether it’s rail or pipe is of no significance, this will be needed and I’m encouraged that this infrastructure is close by and the the cost will be Insignificant to the volume of oil we all hope will be produced, keep the good news coming.
A measure of the importance of oil pipelines is the fact that nearly two-thirds of all petroleum products are carried by them. Crude oil and refined petroleum products are not to be transported in the same pipeline.
That may be correct Ibug but would that pipeline be capable of providing a spur link into the new corridor being built to send oil downstream?
It is also interesting that ESSO are not updating that part of the pipeline that passes Gatwick on its way to Purfleet.

It's interesting that ESSO drilled the original Collandean farm oil well back in 1964 & that there pipeline runs directly by the HH site proved by there pipeline markers more than a little coincidence imo.
U.K. Pipelines
We operate the largest privately owned underground oil pipeline distribution network in the U.K. – around 700 kilometers of pipeline. The majority of refinery products are transported by pipeline to distribution terminals at Hythe, Avonmouth, Birmingham, west London and Purfleet. The remaining products are transported by sea or by road.
In 2017 we announced the Southampton to London Pipeline Project that will replace 90 km of the 105 km pipeline that transports aviation fuel from Fawley refinery to the terminal in west London...Aviation fuel not crude oil end of
ESSO is part of Exxon Mobil and it got own refinery in Fowley. Anybody can checke the information about the pipeline on Exxon Mobil official website. The pipelines are mainly used to transfer finished goods to for example west London.
The second question is, does Exxon like to buy a crude oil from UKOG???
wizard125...Too much oil for tankers to handle is a problem I cannot wait for ss to have, and if this ever becomes a reality, there will be a way forward, oil is a major currency and will be for a long time yet...coincidentally running pigs through some offshore pipeline tomorrow, better get some kip...ATB

It was not FOTH that raised the pipeline issue.
I raised it here posting a link from another twitter poster which I found on FOTH twitter page about the proposed new ESSO pipeline.
It seems that the existing ESSO pipeline runs a few u
hundred metres from the HH site.
The new pipeline corridor is set to be developed 20-30m wide only carrying a 20 cm pipeline.
This may have the potential for a second pipeline in the existing corridor running to the refinery.
Time will tell but obviously oil transportation is a problem that needs solving to scale & grow HH.
What needs to be understood is the perception that a decreasing amount of oil & production at HH is having.
To clarify the current maximum production allowed will be 3500BOPD which divided by the permitted oil tanker size of 220 barrel is 15.9 tankers per day or equal to the 32 maximum in & out permitted per day.
Furthermore this amount of tankers is set to reduce, which is giving posters like Penguins what he would claim is a legitimate argument for well & oil flow depletion & saying that the Kimmeridge is dead & will not be developed which is based on tanker transport figures from the planning documents issued by UKOG.
The key question is are there other plans so to speak in higher & longer production & transportation of that oil, (In the pipeline), (In the train leaving the station), ( In more daily tankers), (In more sites within the HH licences with there own transport incorporated)?
It will probably be FOTH that has brought up the pipeline play again, he brings it up from time to time when he gets board, he has even suggested that the pipeline could be shared with ESSO aviation fuel and cleaned with a pig when changing from one to the other, once you have put raw crude through an aviation fuel pipeline it will be contaminated and would take a lot of time and money to decontaminate if it could be done properly at all.
Totally agree it's pretty cheap to install rails.
The prohibitive costs is in acquiring the land, obtaining the easements and planning permission - oh and paying the connection fee to the rail network - none of those are cheap
Not saying it can't be done, but don't underestimate how much more expensive than you'd think it actually is
Is a no no end of......train rails nearby ?possible?.look at ordnance survey maps ...cheap as chips to put rail in ...
